hamba2han, if Islam doesn’t turn out to be the truth, what would you tell God The Most High on the judgement day if he asked you why you didn’t follow Jesus teachings and followed a man who came 600 years after him, while Jesus himself warned you of false prophets before that, what would be your answer?
Trying your darndest to convince yourself that Islam is not the Truth does NOT in any way prove that Christianity is.

If Islam is not the Truth, then why should Christianity be the only alternative?

Why not Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Sikhism… or even atheism?

What do you call it? I want a Muslim’s answer. Disobeying God is a sin or a mistake? What do you say as a Muslim?

And if you call it a mistake, my next question is this: To err is human and therefore mistakes should not lead you into hell, should they?
You didn’t answer this question, hamba.

I call it a grievous error by Adam (pbuh) commited in a moment of weakness.

Regardless of this mistake or sin if you like, Adam never commited the unforgivable sin in Islam i.e. associating partners with his Creator.

So** disobeying God is a grevious error **but it may not be a sin. Is that what you are saying? When does grevious error become sin? Again, to (greviously) err is also human.

I find it interesting that there are no angels that chose not to follow God. Yet another thing that is against the Bible in Islam.

Adam did not sin. I guess that no prophet can is Islam, right? If choosing not to obay God is not a sin, as in Adam’s case, what is a sin?

Associating partners with Allah is not forgiveable. Doesn’t Islam describe the Trinity as doing just that? In other words, Islam holds that ALL Christians are guilty of the unforgivable sin and damned to hell for eternity.

From Wikipedia:

Angels are intangible, sentient entities, who do not possess free will. They were created for the sole purpose of serving God. Being made of light, they can assume almost any form, completely real to the human eye, and traverse a distance just as fast as light or faster.

Iblis:
When Iblis disobeyed God, he was expelled from Heaven and became the avowed enemy of man. Iblis is a jinn that arrogantly defied on accepting Adam as khalifa on earth and disobeyed God. Then God had dismissed him from his position in heaven. Syaithan are jins that are created from fire that also arrogantly defy Adam’s position as khalifa on earth and disobey God. Both of them possessing free will so they can disobey or openly defy God.

Traditions vary as to whether angels have free will or are merely extensions of the supreme being’s will
Hamba, this was on this wikipedia entry

Christianity holds that all angels were given a test and some chose not to obey God, and they fell. We have no conept of jinn or any other spiritual beings of that sort. Demons and devils are properly understood to be fallen angels.

What about the rest of my questions?

but he committed shirk by disobeying Allah and obeying a creature, didn;t he?

What makes you conclude that angels are robot-like creatures with no free will?

According to a verse in the Koran, angels first raised objections when they became aware of Allah’s plan to create a human, but eventually gave up and declared submission to Allah’s might after failing a test of wisdom:

Surah 2:30-32
And when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth, they said:** Wilt thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee ? **He said: Surely I know that which ye know not.And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful. They said: Be glorified! We have no knowledge saving that which Thou hast taught us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower, the Wise.

how did the angels know the highlighted part?

Christians have an obsession with the “original sin” because this is what they believe their salvation through Jesus (pbuh) is based on…

Muslims have no such hangover and it is unnecessary for us to assign sins to the Prophets (peace be upon them all) like Adam.

However, if Christians wish to continue calling Adam and Eve’s actions as sinful, then this is not really a huge deal for Muslims.

And as for the sin of associating partners with Allah, even this sin will be forgiven if the creations sincerely repent and ask for their Creator’s forgiveness before they die.

However, when death occurs, this sin then becomes unforgivable.

What a dishonest and evading answer!

Although Muslims deify all prophets by declaring them sinless, the Koran makes it clear that prophets committed sins and had to repent for forgiveness.

Interestingly, the Koran gets close to the Christian concept of “original sin” when it presents Adam as the prototype of mankind and punishes every human being as a consequence of his sin:

Surah 2:36
But Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them from the (happy) state in which they were; and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a time.

The verse above overtly states that the whole mankind was banished from heaven and condemned to life on earth due to Adam’s sin. More, the Koran says Adam’s sin and his subsequent punishment coincide with Allah’s decision to guide humans through messengers. Thus, Adam’s fall is stated to have started the age of divine revelation for salvation:

Surah 2:38
We said: Go down, all of you, from hence; but verily there cometh unto you from Me a guidance; and whoso followeth My guidance, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

What makes you conclude that angels are robot-like creatures with no free will?
Robots do not have a mind of their own, angels do.

Angels however do not have any desire to do anything except to obey the commands of their Lord.

I did not say Angels are robots! LOL I only wanted to know why you consider them robot-LIKE creatures.

I am asking once more: what makes you conclude that angels are programmed to obey Allah? How come angels have no free will in contrast with Satan???

  • because they haven’t fulfilled prophecy either.

I would like an answer also to Charlie’s earlier question.

Who is the ‘we’ in Islam ?

Doesn’t the ‘angel’ say ‘we’ to Muhammad all the time.
We created, We forgave sins We …

Who is the ‘we’ ?

hamba2han, why you answered my question with another unrelated question, was it hard to answer it or that’s what Islam teaches???🤷

Here is my answer for your unrelated question (but I’m not answering you anything more unless you answer my original question):

**Q: **If Islam is not the Truth, then why should Christianity be the only alternative?
Why not Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Sikhism… or even atheism?

**A: It’s not a matter of the religion name here, the most important thing is to believe that God The Most High had a plan for our salvation since Adam, and the plan was through a special group of religious people on earth called the Jewish, God The Most High throughout the OT indicated many prophecies about his Son and the redemption plan, some OT prophecies here:
**
(Genesis 12:3):

I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.

(Malachi 3:1):
See, I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come," says the LORD Almighty.

(Isaiah 7:14):
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

(Micah 5:2):
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.

(Proverbs 30:4):
Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands? Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and the name of his son? Tell me if you know!

(Jeremiah 23:5-6):
The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.

(Isaiah 9:6-7):
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

(Psalms 22:16):
Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.

(Psalms 22:1):
For the director of music. To the tune of “The Doe of the Morning.” A psalm of David. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?

(Isaiah 53:5-7):
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

(Psalms 22:18):
They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.

(Zechariah 6:13):
It is he who will build the temple of the LORD, and he will be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he will be a priest on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two.’”
**
(Hosea 6:2):**
After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.

Now compare Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Sikhism, etc, to Jesus’ teaching, and ask yourself which one is more heavenly & logically and at the same time which one has an authentic history and references.

There is a fairy tale by tafseer altabri about that:
