Dear. The Satanic Bible is quite possibly the single most boring, pointless book anyone can ever read. I highly doubt most people get through the first couple of pages.
No thanks, anything that is not of Christ, is not for me.

With the return of Arnoagns and the fact that I have already completely derailed his thread… I am taking my leave and bowing out so he can hold his conversations!

Sorry about that Arnoagns!

Come on Imryl, the more the merrier :). Maybe you have questions for me?

I’m already very familiar with LaVeyan Satanism. However I don’t think I’ve ever heard a LaVeyan say they belonged to a ‘religion’.

… But like I said just a little bit ago… Not even LaVayan’s believe the same thing. 😉

So … why do you consider it a religion?

To me, religion is a way of life. Just the way I’ve always defined it, and LeVeyan is a completely different way of life, so it made since to me to call it one :). How long have you been a Theistic Satanist?

EDIT: Sense! not since! Damn, it’s getting late :).

Better then 20 years.

Although religion is not technically *just *a way of life. Religion is a set of beliefs, customs, and practices directed toward the supernatural. Which is why I asked. 😃

I’m a Catholic, but I’ve always been a fan of LaVeyan Satanist. Welcome!

I look forward to seeing your views and opinions… I’m expecting philosophy… I won’t lie. 😉

If you have noticed the catholics that converted from another community have signatures about swimming the tiber…(crossing the tiber, the Tiber Swim Team, ect.)

What would you say your signature would be, if you had to use a similar analogy, what would it be?

This thread seems very uncomfortable to read, especially how one wants one to actually read the satanic bible…
I sure will. You gotta love the different religions, lifestyles, and philosophies out there. I happen to see LaVeyan Satanism as a philosophy-- one that makes you think, “Wow… am I a Satanist?”

Since I want to be a religious studies professor, I’m saving up to buy a few books here and there about these different beliefs, including [and especially] the Satanic Bible. Interesting stuff, I must admit. 😃

Besides, it’s not about comfort; it’s about wanting to learn and be as educated as possible on stuff like this. 😉

Imryl said the satanic bible was boring.
I think her religion, would be considered more exciting frankly.

Religion is never boring to me. It fascinates me! 😃 Every belief has it’s moment-- I wouldn’t be interested if it didn’t.

As of recently, it has for me too since I was an atheist all my life, until very recently. But, let’s be honest- some faiths are utterly boring. Let’s consider the american cults of late.
:coffeeread:

Then, there is the catholic faith. All I can say, is its never boring.😉

Greetings,

I am a new member here and am a LeVeyan Satanist. I believe in tolerance and I’m here for intellectual conversations about religion, nothing more. We’re not as harmful as we sound, not even close. And though our beliefs are different I know we can get along just fine. If you do wish to flame me, insult me, curse me to the depths of oblivion, or anything else, remember I am still a child. Well, essentially, technically a teenager. But not an adult, none the less.

DON’T try to convert me, that is a step too far, even if you have righteous motives they’ll be in vain. Here’s to looking forward to many conversations. Cheers,

Greetings to you too Arno,

It will be wonderful to know you. Could you perhaps tell us more of the rituals you do, why do you call yourself a satanist (which I will not do to you). Who knows that the term “satanist” is not your own, but rather came from someone else applied to you whether you like it or not. BTW, forget about conversion. We have no power to convert you.

Arnoagns

I find it hard to believe that this can be considered a religion. Human nature, based on self survival, is not a religion. You are merely admitting that you are nothing more than a smart animal (but most likely more cruel), which is correct if you do not believe in Jesus. 😃 John 3:16-21

Imryl

I do not want to be rude, but I read through this whole thread, and I felt more and more ignorant the more I read your posts. Love God first and thank him for your daughter and your own life for without him you would have never had the ability to not like him. I have children of my own and every day I get to hold them I thank God for it. But, then again, that’s just me. My way of thinking is wrong to you I guess.

As for the kiddo that started this thread who believes he is an agnostic satanist. I pray that you find God one day before it is too late. I’ve let agnostic thoughts cross my mind in the past and have never really, until recently, been a religious “nut”. It’s the wrong road to take my friend.

Imryl never said she did not love her child.
She said she did not Thank God for anything in her life. How can you believe in God, but not Thank him for something as precious as your own child. I never said she did not say that. But, now that you bring it up.
