I have at one point thought of converting to Satanism,since I’m going to hell anyway, being an atheist. I might as well have some fun onearth, get some rewards in the here and now, etc, etc…
Only thing is that I haven’t been able to prove satan as real, any more than I have been able to prove god as real, lol!!!

Oh, as an asside. I think I can prove to any open minded and logical and HONEST person the existence of God. Just a FYI.

I just read PJM’s relpy that he sounds confused and lost, but even before I read that I wanted to mention this.
Having said that, I did join this thread very late and don’t know what the posted have said to you…maybe you are justified? Has he said anything vendictive against catholics, christians or you specifically? I dunno…

I don’t mind a little good natured tsk’ing, Bear. That’s fine. Satanism is laughable, absurd, and a phase this guy is going through. He can reciprocate all he wants. Doesn’t bother me. If he’s confident in his Prince of Darkness, he’ll just believe Mephistopheles will avenge him!

Satanism is laughable and absurd from where you are standing, yes…maybe at some stage he was really into it and comments like taht would be seriously offensive to him…
Honestly, I think catholocism is laughable and absurd too but I would catch all sorts of flack if I was to openly make fun of catholics in this manner…no?

You have every right to find the Christian faith absurd. And I would question your motivations and feelings in coming onto a Catholic message board full of faithful Catholics who love the Lord Jesus Christ? I would never in a million years desire to go on a message board and read the rantings of atheists and their dim, drab, empty view of the cosmos. I have nothing to learn from them and would do nothing but encounter venom and hostility. The only reason I would go there were if I myself were considering atheism. Or possibly if I were a troll. There is no shortage of trolling on the internet.
And I’m never worried about offending the Devil. Not at all. If someone chooses to champion Satan, I have no time for that and will not be politically correct giving group hugs.

I would welcome such an IM as well and any conversation from a Satanist who is unhappy with his state and wishing to change it. If repentence is there and a desire to turn one’s back on the sins of the occult, I’ll welcome such a man with open arms, council, prayer, and love. But those that come on here openly bragging about giving warm fuzzy love to the Father of Lies, give me a break!

When I was younger, and taking shots at Catholics (well, Christians in general - I grew up pagan, essentially), it was largely out of ignorance. I hadn’t a clue what they really believed.
When I was older, though, and lapsed from the faith? I took a much greater interest in taking shots at Catholicism. I bragged constantly about how happy I was to be free of my temporary insanity, so much more satisfied now that I was no longer chasing after infinity and enraptured by a desert wight who got a little too big for his britches. Honestly, though, I was angry and mostly just wanted someone to prove me wrong. Or, really, even bother to engage with me. In the end, one of the main things that brought me back home was just someone actually taking the time to invite me.
So - in either sense it’s always a plus when someone deep in the occult or whatever else comes to my doorstep. It’s a chance to set things right, in one way or another, and potentially (Re)introduce someone to the love of Christ. After all, the line between hatred and love is awful fine.
