As for Occam’s razor" (it was a priest who came out with that theory), if I’m not mistaken the whole idea behind it is to provide the simplest explanation for phenomena, as such, God being the creator of the universe is the simplest explanation.
Science hasn’t even proved the origins of life. Some atheists like Richard Dawkins think it came off the backs of crystals or from some intelligent being/designer (could that be God???).

I grew up in the Bible belt, too, many years ago when atheists were extremely rare and still persecuted. I remember clearly telling my classmates and teachers what fools they were and feeling so smug in my intellectual superiority.

Sorry annabea, but I’m out of here this people are just ignorant and stupid and this is a waste of time. I recommend you to leave. This people only belief because of faith and they have faith because of faith. Meaning they just belief because they are ignorant or they were indoctrinated or they are dumb or wishful thinking( or any combination of those things). There is nothing more to religion it looks like, by these posts.

Hang on, so we are all “indoctrinated/dumb/wishful thinking”. So you could not possibly be wrong? The recorded miracles at Zeitoun and Fatima, the incorrupt bodies of some of our Saints, the recorded healings of cancer, paralysis etc,etc, etc, etc mean nothing. You are the wishful thinker, you think our actions do not attract a just (if merciful) response from God. Talk to Him, subjunctively if you wish, he will respond.

The fact that you are here, curious about Catholicism indicates that while your mind says there is no God, your heart is telling you maybe your mind might not be correct. As for the Church doing bad things over the years, the Church is run by humans (prone to error) and as such, when an error is made, it is acknowledged (John Paul II apologizing for the Inquisition). You can’t be both an atheist and an agnostic. As an agnostic, you would recognize God, just not feel obligated to worship Him. As an atheist, you don’t recognize the existance of God.

So Mauricio0 I’m curious why you are a member of this site in the first place. It’s not like you were tricked into joining, and I guess if you can’t engage in the dialogue here, then maybe there really is something in negativity not being able to exist where positive feelings are. Also, perhaps before you engage in childish tantrums you might try taking some English courses.
