FordDad,
I am so sorry for what has happened to your thread. This is a poor example of Catholic thought and behavior here. I am sorry for the insults that have been repeatedly leveled at your daughter. I suspect that the anonymity of the internet has given some people here a false sense of security, a wall behind which they may hide as they direct their judgements against your daughter. All the while, they forget that even anonymously, we are expected to give Christian witness. I see many people here, though, defending you and your daughter against the insults, and reminding the others of the pro-life values we cherish. We are not merely pro-birth, we are truly pro-life. Unfortunately, sometimes politics and greed warps the conscience in these matters.
I don’t know if you are still reading this miserable excuse for an advice thread, but just in case you are, I just wanted to apologize for the tone it has taken in the past couple of days. For Catholics, our catechism teaches us to charitably assume the best about other’s intentions, unless and until we have evidence to the contrary. Also, if correction of a person is needed, we are taught to handle it charitably, with an eye toward repentance and reconciliation, and not level insults or engage in name-calling. So, there has been some extremely unChristlike behavior in this thread, and it is a poor witness for our faith. I am sorry and I hope you will not judge the Catholic Church by the behavior you have seen in this thread. God bless you and your family.
