Here are some links that Protestants don’t want you to visit…Am I right?

I think a protestant could post just as many sites supporting their beliefs.

There are many truths. Absolutism is a dead end street.

Jimmy… I was bi-vocational for several years, and was a firefighter and paramedic along with being a pastor for nearly 15 years. I’ve worked in the real world, and I am far from being politically correct.

I simply challenged you on being honest in your apologetics - you have challenged and asked personal questions, yet get riled up and claim we’re being personal. I guess we’d like some consistency.

You have said that Protestantism is for ego-ists. Since you’re not so PC, I’ll simply say that I resent that and will tell you that you don’t know what the hell you are talking about.

I respect Catholicism. Have never thought to do otherwise.

Hello O.S. Luke,

No, you have, on numerous occasions here, made things personal and addressed me personally instead of addressing what I wrote, from a theological standpoint.

I do like the fact that you were a Fighter Fighter/Paramedic though; I was a medic for four years. I believe that if we had met under different circumstances, that you would be “nicer” to me and I would have more patients with you… 😃

Lighten up a little bit mister….

God Bless you. 🙂

I am not the only one who has made these observations, Jimmy. You simply don’t know want to hear or acknowledge what has been said.

I am sure there are many things in this world that I need to lighten up about, while there are others that I need to ratchet down on. Regard of those traits of mine, it still doesn’t make you right, Jimmy. You’re extremely inconsistent in the lines between personal and theological.

You keep making a big deal about my educational degrees; to me, a lot of what my theological education did was make me more aware of how much more I have to learn. You said I was insecure; where that came from I’m not sure, but it couldn’t have been anything other than personal, could it?

O+

O.S. Luke,

Great, now you’re acting obsessed….Are you my keeper, or just “stalking “me?

Whenever I try to be nice to you, this is the type of “Christian” response I get. Is, the way you post here, an indicator of what you “believe” as a Christian? I hope not…

What happened to, “love your neighbor” or “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”?

Most of your posts here recently, seem to indicate that you have a personal agenda, which is obviously anti-Catholic and it also appears to me that your posts are mostly about you and how people can, act in a way to please you.

This also appears to be a deliberate attempt by you, to derail any discussion here that does not line-up with your errant, Protestant beliefs.

Sorry, but I’m not going to join the religion of “you”….This is another example, of why the doctrine of, “personal interpretation” is so wrong.

There are many people today that because of “personal interpretation”, belong to the religion of their own intellect…the religion of “themselves”, where what they “believe” rules, supreme.

Where is the Christian humility, in all of this? Where is the love and forgiveness, in all of this? Where is God, in all of this?

I personally, do not believe that you understand what it truly means to be Christian and it is for that reason that I do not give much credence to what you post here.

You appear to have run out of theological exegesis’ and have stooped to person attacks. Attacking me though, makes no sense because I am a Roman Catholic, which means that my beliefs can be found in the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.

I do not personally interpret the Bible and whenever, I do discover that my beliefs do not line up with the Catholic Church, I change those errant beliefs and surrender to my Catholic faith.

My guess is that, the “traits” of mine that you don’t like, are the “Catholic traits”. Your problem appears to be with Catholicism in general and sense I am an outspoken Catholic here, with an unwavering belief in the Roman Catholic Church… I’m your target.

Instead of trying to hijack my treads with your off-topic, personal attacks, why don’t you start your own threads and avoid mine? That’s a great question, don’t you think?

If, what you believe is actually true, then there is no need to address me personally, right? Your arguments here, should be theological arguments, shouldn’t they?

You are singling-out one Catholic here…great, now what about all the other thousands and thousands of non-Catholic, (Protestant) Christian denominations who don’t agree with your beliefs, how are you going to convince all of them to join your Church?

Why are there so many different Protestant denominations? Why isn’t there just one, the one you belong to?

Think about it.

You guys aren’t here for answers, many of you are anti-Catholic and are here to bad-mouth catholics and the the Catholic Church and try to convert people from the Catholic Church to a Protestant denomination.

Seems to me that their are a lot of Hypocrites here.

keep complaining, I think it’s funny and interesting, I have learn a lot about some you here in the last few weeks and it ain’t all been good…
Usually, a “skunk” smells his own first…I see you are still valiantly defending yourself and uncharitably calling your opposers “Catholic Haters.” We also have been learning a few things about you…

Getting back to the OP; I would love it if more would visit the wacky sites you refer to. It would help people to see what is real and what is counterfeit. I personally know someone who looked at those sites and decided to become Protestant because of them! Of course, you would now call this former Catholic a person who “hates Catholics” and yet, their own Grandmother is Catholic, and he couldn’t love her any more than he does.

Too bad you are not in the real world Jimmy. Not everyone who opposes Roman Catholic beliefs hates Roman Catholics; they may be “anti-catholic,” but only in terms of the belief system; not the people.

When one looks at the whole picture story here; it is easy to see how you are definitely “anti-Protestant;” but it is a much different story to “see” that you “hate” Protestants. How can that be determined; just because you don’t like our beliefs?

Try giving Protestants the same credit that you want for yourself on these forums.

Whenever I try to be nice to you, this is the type of “Christian” response I get. Is, the way you post here, an indicator of what you “believe” as a Christian? I hope not…
When were you nice to me? I missed that…
Most of your posts here recently, seem to indicate that you have a personal agenda, which is obviously anti-Catholic and it also appears to me that your posts are mostly about you and how people can, act in a way to please you.
You evidently haven’t read my recent posts. I made it very clear that in most recent posts, “I respect Catholicism. Have never thought to do otherwise.”
This also appears to be a deliberate attempt by you, to derail any discussion here that does not line-up with your errant, Protestant beliefs.
I haven’t mentioned any Protestant beliefs.
Sorry, but I’m not going to join the religion of “you”….This is another example, of why the doctrine of, “personal interpretation” is so wrong.
I don’t believe in the doctrine of personal interpretation. Neither does the denomination I belong to. Again…
Where is the Christian humility, in all of this? Where is the love and forgiveness, in all of this? Where is God, in all of this?
.
I made it fairly clear that there is much I don’t know. I am very forgiving - and always willing to confess and repent. I have not seen that from you, however, Jimmy. You maintain you are right and beyond reproach - that is what I, and others, have pointed out.
I personally, do not believe that you understand what it truly means to be Christian and it is for that reason that I do not give much credence to what you post here.
You’re welcome to think whatever you think. I think you are full of it, quite frankly. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Catholicism. I was a musician for masses for several years when they had no musicians in the area I grew up in. I also married into a Catholic family. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Your zealousness gives Catholicism - a wonderful faith - a bad name.
You appear to have run out of theological exegesis’ and have stooped to person attacks. Attacking me though, makes no sense because I am a Roman Catholic, which means that my beliefs can be found in the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.
I never attacked your church or it’s beliefs - I questioned your apologetic tactics, which are in my opinion dishonest. That has nothing to do with your beliefs as a Catholic, or the Catholic faith in general. You are being dishonest in this. Again…
Your problem appears to be with Catholicism in general and sense I am an outspoken Catholic here, with an unwavering belief in the Roman Catholic Church… I’m your target.
Hardly. I have “no target.” You think way too highly of yourself!
Instead of trying to hijack my treads with your off-topic, personal attacks, why don’t you start your own threads and avoid mine? That’s a great question, don’t you think?
The point was that your posts WERE personal. Get it yet?
If, what you believe is actually true, then there is no need to address me personally, right? Your arguments here, should be theological arguments, shouldn’t they?
The point, Jimmy, was that YOU were making things personal. That’s what other posters said too. You’re after me because I haven’t let you off the hook.
You are singling-out one Catholic here…great, now what about all the other thousands and thousands of non-Catholic, (Protestant) Christian denominations who don’t agree with your beliefs, how are you going to convince all of them to join your Church?
I’m not trying to solicit anyone here to join my church. Find one post of mine where I tried to do that. One, Jimmy.
Why are there so many different Protestant denominations? Why isn’t there just one, the one you belong to?

Think about it.
I have. Why did the East and West split? Why are there so many rites within Catholicism? Because of disagreements, culture, and sin. Most Americans don’t want to be governed like European governments, do they? Were that we all saw things the same way, and moreover that we all had the mind of Christ. I pray for that day.

I’ll leave you alone. You obviously haven’t understood what anyone here has tried to tell you. I never attacked your faith, but I did try to keep you honest when it came to apologetics. It is a fruitless task.

I won’t pester you anymore. But I won’t allow you to lie about me either - which you have.

Pax vobiscum.

LOL! Talk about your personal attacks… Hypocrisy anyone?

Back to the OP, Protestants don’t care (at least the majority of us) if people go to the websites listed.
Am I right?
Nope
Your thoughts
Still waiting for you to address my thoughts… 🤷

Jimmy,

As a “Protestant” I encourage Catholics to go and find out what they say they believe. I have met far too many “Catholics” who do not know what the Chruch Teaches, what the Bible says. It makes for an annoying conversation when you know more about their beliefs than they do.
I have gone to those links myself. Education and understanding what you say you believe is essential to your walk with Christ.

Hello KenEOTE,

I agree… excellent points…

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain…

he is an ordinary man…puts his pants on one leg at a time…he does not have the handle on the “truth”…

By their fruits you will know them…

I am Catholic…I would never tell you all how to worship or tell you your faith is “wrong”.

Some people are comfortable swimming in their own small fish bowl. Let’s let this fish swim around and around…to his hearts content.

It really makes me wonder…why the mods have allowed him to play the “bait” game…put up pictures on threads that “do” attack a poster who has the brains to say…“no, you are not right”…

…to be a total jerk to others on these forums. This is not the only thread that that OP has done this.

I have given it my best shot to understand where the OP is coming from to no avail…I come back to the threads and he is beating them over the head again…🤷

He sees this as personal “attacks” on himself…why are the responders 2 to 1 in total disagreement?

Hello Julianna,

Whom exactly, are you writing about? If it is a person (poster) here, then it is a personal comment…right? And if that remark is a remark insulting that person, then it is a personal attack…right? A comment like this would be off-topic…would it not?

Please stay on topic and be nice, you say that you are Catholic…me too.

For some others here, you say that you are Christian…me too.

Do any of you have any Catholic or non-Catholic links that you would like to share here; this was the intended purpose of this thread, it was not intended to be used as a forum for others here to single-out or insult anybody in particular.

The negative comments here, are becasue some did not like my thread title, please go back and read the posts here, before forming an opinion.

Posters here, are never the topic and CAF Moderators decide which thread titles will stay and which ones will go…

Thank you for your post.

Peace

Singinbeauty:
As for your ‘question’, as a protestant I have NEVER heard or seen anyone one discouraging someone else from researching their faith and looking to be closer to God. If that comes from the Catholic Church then so be it. So clicking on those links would not be an issue for ANY protestant I know.

Your OP has the exact same verbiage as the title. We are just responding to your post.

As for this thread’s purpose being to address links that others want to post, where did you EVER say that that was the purpose? It’s not in your OP and not in any of your posts. You say it isn’t to single anyone out, then why are you lumping ALL protestants together in your OP and saying that we don’t want people to visit those sites?

Because, contrary to whatever is said, that was the express purpose.

Am I right? Your thoughts?
No, you are not right when it comes to me - a protestant.

Actually, I’m in favor of giving people all the information they need to make a decision of such importance as their faith. I would rather people read both protestant and Catholic literature so that they can then make their choice on what God is leading them to.

I’ve read lots of Catholic sites and found it to be very enlightening.

I’m not sure why you think we care about what sites
people are visiting. It is a free country after all.

Peace…
