I’ve not seen another Dokimas. I’m not sure what document you think you have. It’s definately not from me if it’s about being a Catholic or having anything to do with K of C.
It just a piece of paper with your name that I wrote a few years back, I have the note in my hand as we speak so it is just one of those thing

btw man, K of C is Knights of Columbus. A Catholic organization.
That makes sense; I thought that’s what he was referring to but I thought he was playing a game with me. Now we know he was mistaken. Glad it’s finally cleared up. Now let’s look for all my mistakes.

Type what it says. I’d love to read it.
Here is what it said Dokimas, when at first seen your name on the board I wrote it down so as to spell it right(on a Note pad) and it has been here for over a few years, at the time the person was bashing the K of C and that is all I know, and I still have the paper here, but if it is not your it must be magic.

I have no opinion about K of C. I’d love to see the note. BTW, I don’t think I was on this board 2 yrs ago.

There is mention in the Bible (NT) of heresies going around in the churches of the 1st century. Heresies have always invaded the church. Why do you think it is different now or for the last 15 centuries?
A heretic is one who knows and has been taught and understands the apostolic faith, and believes in a teaching that is contrary to the faith which is a heresy.

Heretics and apostates have come in the Catholic church since apostolic times. Those who have not been correctly catechized in the faith, and by no fault of their own believe in a faith that is contrary to the apostolic faith cannot be labeled a heretic. Although the contrary belief’s to the Apostolic Catholic faith are labeled heresy as a warning for the believers, so as “not to be moved by every wind of doctrine” that has come for the past 1500 years.

Paul and others label heretics because they have been taught the “Truth” but believe contrary. Paul’s epistles gives warning of these that have entered the Church and will enter the church. Those of pagan belief’s are not heretics, but the lost, you have to Know of the Truth and believe contrary to the Truth to be labeled a heretic.

The bible never teaches heresies, The bible is the Word of God, and God breathed.

Truthfully the heresies are not different or new, they just repeat themselves in different ages and come in different disguises that the serpent uses to deceive the sheep of God and twist the Truth of God. We have the promise of Jesus Christ that his “True” presence will be with his church always, to protect his teachings “infallibly”.

I don’t think I have any objection to anything here. Of course saying that I have no objection is worthless, but… I may have a personal problem with your interpretation of these statements.

Dear Dokimas; Is it the interpretation or the misunderstanding and difference of what you have been accustomed to hearing from your religious circles? I see you have a “personal problem” with the word “problem”, when in actuality, it is not a problem but? may just be the unknown or misinformed of a Catholic Christian (conscious) interpretation which may appear new to you.

I blame no ‘circle’ for what I believe. I listen, I read, I think, I study, I pray and I deside. I’m sure I need more of each (some to a greater extent).

No one is looking to place blame here. Just reveal to you that from your posts you do not have the correct Catholic teachings and understanding of the Apostolic Catholic faith handed down these past 2 millenium, and only post what you misunderstand. From where you have gathered these misinformed Catholic belief’s did not come from a Catholic Catechises.

In summary, unless you can prove that you have a correct understanding of the Apostolic Catholic faith and reject this revealed “Truth” from Jesus and his apostles, you cannot be a heretic. Just one who “protests” the Church Jesus founded upon Peter and his apostles which remains in the unbroken succession of Peter and the Popes and Bishops in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic faith.

Question? have you ever professed the Apostles original “Credo”? Without this profession of faith from the Apostles before God and the body of Jesus Christ, How do you claim to the biblical Christian faith? Can you authenticate your personal belief’s from an Apostolic orgin and succession as does the Catholic Church?

I may be of interest to you that I am not nor ever was a catholic.

You and I understand history a bit different. Also, no offense to the CC, there are things that are believed that seem to be against the Bible; couple that with the idea that the CC requires its members to adhere to everything so I could not become catholic.

Tell you what. You start the process of becoming Catholic. Get into RCIA, and give it an honest go, and see where you are.

Our faith, Catholic or not, is not a sudden journey. It’s a long process, and though the Catholic Church does want everyone to adhere and believe everything, obviously that is impossible, even in our Church. There are millions that don’t believe 100% of the Catholic faith. But…but…in time, and through the Holy Spirit, learning, research, prayer, and honestly opening up of ones mind. Dying unto yourself…you might be surprised. I will even be your long distance RCIA sponsor! 😃

I respectfully disagree, that Catholic belief’s are contrary to the biblical teachings of Christianity. Are you not aware that the Catholic Church canonized the bible for you and me since the fourth century? Why do you think the Catholic Church would canonize any bible books that taught contrary to Apostolic Catholic belief’s? The bible books from the New Testament are the memoirs of the Catholic Church.

I believe the Catholic Church has the most simpliest of biblical belief’s that can be summarized from the Apostles Creed. Here it is the Complete faith of what Catholics believe, if you think Catholics believe outside this Apostolic faith other than the Apostles Creed, then you have been misinformed about my Catholic faith, I dont know who lied to you about Catholicism, but it sure sounds like you have been misinformed.

THE APOSTLE’S CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

I DO NOT dislike the CC. Please get that straight.

The following teachings would keep me from becoming a catholic.
  1. The CC is the one true church and is always correct when it comes to doctrine and faith (I think that’s how you put it???)
  1. Making it a rule that priest, bishops, cardinals and popes can’t get married.
  1. Some of the teachings about Mary: immaculate conception, perpetual virginity, praying to her.
  1. Infant baptism for salvation.
  1. Transubstantiation.

And in case I’m being bated here, I don’t think these are heresies.

BTW, which of my understandings from the Bible are private interpretations? I grant you I’ve come to understand what I believe from studying, but all of what I believe is believed by a rather large number of believers.

First of all #1 is faith and Moral
not all priests,Bihop ect are married
You just do not understand and are using your privat ieinterpretation
and infant Baptist is not for Salvation is to remove sin
Do you think indivdual interpretation was condoned in the bible
?

Maybe this will help you understand one of the things. Private interpretations does not mean only one person holds to the thought. It means that it is an interpretation that differs from what has classically been taught within the Faith. For example, if someone denies the Trinity based on their reading of the Bible, it does not matter if they alone hold to the thought or if 10 million others do as well. It is against the Traditional teachings of the Christian faith.

This is not the same as a heretical position. It becomes heretical when the person’s private interpretation directly counters the teaching of the faith AND they know that it does AND they do not care.

Now, I would like to mention one of the points. You do know that the celibate priesthood is a rule and not a dogma, and as such can be changed, and in some individual cases not enforced, while celibate bishops date back to the time of the apostles?
