Hillary Clinton leaves flowers for Our Lady of Guadalupe, asks ‘Who painted it?’

My guess is that it’s not news to them. What do they care if she went to Mexico and asked who painted a picture of the Virgin Mary? It’s an honest question from someone who doesn’t know any better. The fact that she SHOULD know better is the story, but they won’t cover that because she is one of the media sweethearts.

Again - the media will take every opportunity they can to NOT tell the Catholic side of a story. That is why it is so vitally important for places like CA and RealCatholicTV.com to make sure the Catholic side of the story IS heard.

As Secretary of State isn’t her job to have a vast knowledge of important cultural items of the countries she visits? IMO this is just one of her many mistakes she has made during her trip to Mexico.

NO, she’s Hillary. If Sarah Palin had missed this, it would have been a skit on SNL and Keith and Rachel would be excoriating her for it, and I’m sure Katie would have a tidbit or two, too, about Palin’s international gaffe.
 
I don’t see how anybody could understand Mexico at all without understanding Our Lady of Guadalupe. Has Hillary never even been curious about why Mexicans consider themselves “the race” (la raza). You can’t understand that without understanding the miracle. The two are inextricably intertwined, and you can’t understand a single thing about Mexico without knowing that.

I dunno, Mz. Clinton strikes me as of a tougher sort than those weak kneed Aztecs. 😉
 
SOSs don’t have long shelf lives. It could be curtain call time on her real soon.
 
This is just another example of the, “its okay to offend Christians” mentality in public life today. I’ll betcha if she went to a mosque during Ramadan her handlers would have done the research and briefed her to make sure she didn’t invite anyone out to lunch.
 
I hadn’t heard this. I just told DH about it and he said, “Well, what’d you expect, she’s a moron.” And he’s not even Catholic. 🙂

While the rector’s answer was all right for a quick reply, I do hope that either he or someone else followed up with a fuller response. Yes, Hillary should have known but this would have been a great opportunity to remind her.
 
:rotfl: isn’t that image a REALLY big deal to Mexicans in general? What an insult to their country! I wonder if she then asked “okay, who really painted it?” :rolleyes:

So far everytime this woman is allowed out in public she has stuck her foot in her mouth and chewed it to the hip. I don’t think she has missed one chance to insult any host in any country yet.

She needs to at the very least fire her staff and hire some that will do her work for her.

Nope it was a bracelt with the Madonna on it…I think its tacky to wear religious jewelry to be fashionable…Of course she might have been hoping to get Catholic votes…It was when she was running for president
