First of all, I think pretty much everyone knows the typical hipster. They’re thin; they wear bright shoes and tight jeans, eat vegan, like the arts, shun the mainstream, have Ray Bans, glasses, and wear vintage clothing. However, we have never had a Catholic Answers stance on the hipsters. What does everyone on this board think of them? Is their lifestyle immoral? I’m mainly asking because my brother (who now goes by Sebastian, rather than his real name Michael) seems to be heavily invested in the hipster world, especially now that he is living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I’m a bit concerned that he is becoming too involved in this subculture as it at times seems a bit immoral. He also depends a great deal on our parents for monetary support of his lifestyle considering his sporadic work stints at the local record shop don’t really provide all that well. Thanks in advance from a concerned brother.
