Is the Holy Trinity mentioned in the Old Testament? Do all Christian religions believe in the Holy Trinity as Catholics do?
Since the authors of the Old Testament did not know Jesus, there would be no mention of all three of them.Is the Holy Trinity mentioned in the Old Testament? Do all Christian religions believe in the Holy Trinity as Catholics do?
Genesis. There are many instances in the OT that prefigure the trinity…except I can’t remember any at the moment.
Agreed - Here is another one (of many)There are many instances in the OT that prefigure the trinity…except I can’t remember any at the moment.
Well, the question becomes whether belief in the Trinity is necessary for one to be considered a Christian. There are several groups that do NOT believe in the Trinity. The Jehovah’s Witnesses are one (they believe that Jesus was the incarnation of the Archangel Michael and the Holy Spirit is just the power of God, not a separate entity), Unitarians and Universalists generally have very few formal doctrines, and I believe certain Holiness Churches reject the Trinity. In the past, you also had Gnostics and Arians, of course. Then, of course, there are the Anti-Trinitarians, which kinda goes without saying…I believe all Christians, protestant and Catholic, believe in the Trinity.
Tower of Babel,Genesis 11:7Genesis.
Gen 1:26 And he said: Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are modern day Arians. They have such a distorted view of God that it would take days to go over. I spoke with a particular JW for over three years. Jesus is no more than a created “perfect human being”. Yes, He was the incarnated Michael who was created by Jehovah. That goes against all Church teachings from the Apostles on. While Jehovah’s Witnesses do claim to be Christian, their total rejection of the divinity of Christ insists that they are not. You cannot be a Christian and follow a Christ who lied about His divinity…teachccdWell, the question becomes whether belief in the Trinity is necessary for one to be considered a Christian. I didn’t forget the JWs. Since the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one God, I wan’t considering anyone that left any part out of the loop as Christians. Maybe, I was wrong in my thinking.Well, the question becomes whether belief in the Trinity is necessary for one to be considered a Christian. But they are not Christians. That’s why Christ warns that not all who call Him Lord will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.I didn’t forget the JWs. There are several instances where the Angel of Yahweh is present and is recognized as Yahweh (I believe that the Angel of Yahweh is the Holy Spirit); this of course does not necessarily translates to the prophets or Israel itself recognizing the various Persons of God… as St. Paul said, that which was hidden from the beginning of creation was now being revealed to His Saints! St. Peter also speaks about the Holy Spirit making friends of Gods (prophets) and revealing to them the secrets about Chirst, which was not even revealed to the angels. Is the Holy Trinity mentioned in the Old Testament? There’s a very specific Biblical passage that states that there’s only one name given in Heaven and earth by which all can obtain salvation: Christ Jesus… however, this is only one passage…Well, the question becomes whether belief in the Trinity is necessary for one to be considered a Christian. Their error is so entrenched in their doctrine that they do not even realize that by claiming Christ they must accept that they have a different Lord and King than Yahweh God (since they reject the Trinity) which makes them servants of two Lords!Jehovah’s Witnesses are modern day Arians. Poor paul and the rest of the apostles who know not the doctrine as it is defined today. The Holy Trinity is an absolute and essential doctrine of Christianity. It is the very nature of God revealed most fully through the Person of Jesus Christ. Anyone who does not subscribe to the Trinitarian dogma IS NOT a Christian. They would be falsifying Christ and His divine proclamation. It is at Pentecost where we see the full revelation of the Trinity when Jesus sends the Spirit of truth to remind all what He had already fully revealed.
There is no question. No Trinity…No Christian…teachccd
I escape the Holy Trinity but Worship the Father, SOn, and Holy Ghost … dogmas don’t define God, God’s WOrd defines God…There’s a very specific Biblical passage that states that there’s only one name given in Heaven and earth by which all can obtain salvation: Christ Jesus… however, this is only one passage…
Jesus tells His followers that only those whom the Father send to Him will He accept (allow to become His disciples) and just as He said this many left Him… couple that passage with Jesus’ warning that not all who call Him Lord will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven but those who do the Will of the Father… and then throw in the revelation at Jesus’ Baptism (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) where the voice from Heaven states that Jesus is His Son and that we must listen to Him… you got a complete enigma: Can’t be Saved but through Jesus; Jesus will reject you unless the Father sends you to Him; yet, the Father wants you to listen to Jesus who warns you that just calling Him “Lord” wont do…
Paul makes the decration this way: No one who has the Holy Spirit can say Jesus is anathema (an abomination); no one can say Jesus is Lord if not by the Grace of the Holy Spirit–and this is the manner in which God wants to be worshiped! (Paraphrased).
There’s no escaping the Holy Trinity; even Satan knows this as he reveals himself as the unholy trinity!
Maran atha!
Angel
Us unrefuttably does not include angels?Tower of Babel,Genesis 11:7
7 Let us then go down and there confuse their language, so that one will not understand what another says.”
Mat 28:19 Going therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.Poor paul and the rest of the apostles who know not the doctrine as it is defined today.
They believe in God and the Lord Jesus Christ…
be careful to assume Trinity is essential when the very nature of Christ is if you believe in Me, you believe in the Father also and have seen Him.
Jesus’ message wasn’t you must get everything about the Godhead right, It was believe in Me that you might have life…
There is only life in the Son of God, God our Father incarnate… that is truth and I’m sticking to it lol.
Amen and Amen… Glad that our church obeys this command.Mat 28:19 Going therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
