This is where we, as followers of Christ fall down. Consider that He made a whip out of cords and drove the moneychangers out of the temple.

When we sit in His judgment seat, He will ask: “What did you tell your friends who were in mortal sin?” Is “It was a private matter” suffice?
I understand what you’re saying. However, from a practical standpoint, how many of us are willing to actually do this - and then be constantly told to buzz off, mind our own business, and perhaps get punched in the nose in the process?

So your argument here does not really work as we could stop looking at addictions as illnesses and just recognize that this is the way God made these people and we should help them live that way.
On the contrary, we should help them not live that way as well as provide the example in which true happiness consists. This presupposes that one knows what true happiness is. This consists of assent to God as revealed to the Apostles and handed down to the present day bishops of the Catholic Church in the form of authoritative teachings. Proof is provided in either assenting to this truth and achieving inner peace through grace or the opposite and being led into temptation toward ultimate peril. Both of which I have tried and I prefer the former.

I am catholic and disagree with poeple living out there gay desires however it is not our christian right to tell them not to nor to take there rights away. Its is God and God alone that can do this. He gave us the right of choice and we must respect the choice of those who are gay! is it a sin to be gay? Yes! is it our right to stop them or judge them? No! We are all sinners and only the sinless can judge. If we are asked the reveal the truths that god gave us through the church then answer the question, but with love and compassion! I feel verry uncomfortable seeing gay poeple together, but then again God sees everything and I am sure he does not feel comfortable watching us all sin which ALL of us have done. No matter the reason for people being gay, it is still a sin because the holy Bible says so! There are rules that I wish did not exist but I am not going to ignore Gods commands to convenience my own personal wants! God is a parent and we are the children! A child does not always understand why there parent will not allow them to do somthing, but that does not make that parents command wrong!

Well St. Paul got run out of Ephesis, and St, Stephen was stoned. They set good examples.

This is why we need reconciliation - for those times we fail.

The examples you give are actual crimes. My reference to the ‘privacy of your own home’ refers to non-crimes.
This must take into account that nearly all sexual sin “used to be” a crime. The law has been “dumbed down” to where only the most egregious violations, except for abortion, are now considered crimes.
