I haven’t seen where anyone has posted this, but do check out www.narth.com as well. It may assist you, it may not, but it’s always worth a look
Good luck and God bless
No, you are fine. Don’t listen to the haters, Jesus loves everyone. Your souls seem fine to me, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. I hope (and pray) one day the love in the world will finally destroy the hate in this world, and you can marry the love of your life.
good luck and Christ be with you.
Here in Singapore, its rare to find a priest in the confessional that actually listen, most of the time they give us absolution and penance. Thank you but It doesn’t feel heroic to me though because the struggle that we have to go through everyday are really terrible, specially the temptations. And this country is very self oriented in terms with culture, no one cares on the most part. You mention you are both frequenting the Sacrament of Confession. What does the priest say about this? You don’t have to answer, it’s rhetorical. If you are living chastely, and not giving scandal to others, it sounds like you are making a heroic effort to live with a heavy burden.
That is a very good answer, friend. A lot of people want things of this world, but for the love of God, resist them, regardless of what others say that may lead to sin. God Bless you for you and your friend’s devotion to Our Lord and bravery in this situation.Thank you, I would like to someday but since the Church is against it I accept that and I support the church and have accepted this cross to bear for the love of Jesus and just hope and pray that God will have mercy on our souls as well as everyone that has the same cross that we are carrying. We pray for the salvation of souls who are afflicted with homosexuality, we include this in our novena and hope that God in his infinite wisdom would hear us and save us.
Thank you for those kind words and yes I will take your adviceI just want to say how much respect I have for the two of you. It can’t be easy but I admire so much that you’re trying to live your faith honestly rather than do what many do and turn away from the Lord. God Bless you!
Talk to your priest/confessor. He will be able to understand your situation better and give you sound advice.
Yes I agree that each of is a possible occasion of sin, and I do not attempt to deny that strong temptation to sin is unlikely as we have fallen a few times. We are just afraid that if God decides to call one of us or both during our fallen states, then we are surely dammed.Personally, I think you two are fine if you stay chaste. The problem is that each of you is a possible near occasion of sin for the other. If living together, the chance of a strong temptation to sin is likely. Do speak to a priest. Annonimity in confession is possible, but do talk to a priest. A couple married outside the Church can remain together if they promise to live as brother and sister, so I see no reason that you can’t live with the person you love under similar conditions.
For the present time it seems that living apart is better for your souls. You could date and not be together constantly. Even that has its hazards. Or you could see each other only when others are present. Most likely, complete separation would be best. You could keep in touch via snail mail. At least that has a distance and a cooling off period. There are no easy answers. You are the best judge of how far you are willing to test your love for God.Yes I agree that each of is a possible occasion of sin, and I do not attempt to deny that strong temptation to sin is unlikely as we have fallen a few times. Thank you for sympathy and prayer, I really appreciate it. We both are trying to live a chaste life and avoid occasions of sin as much as we can, to the point that we limit which friends we keep, websites to go to, shield our eyes when we go out both and individually that could trigger a temptation since Lust enters through the eyes. Its funny sometimes that I find myself walking while keeping my gaze on the floor, I feel stupid when I do this but I think its better rather seeing something that could endanger my soul, and there are a lot form bill boards to posters or a really attractive guy.My brother in Christ,
Your post breaks my heart. I wish, hope, and pray that you find peace with the Church and with your relationship.
Can you live a chaste life with your partner?
You, and your partner, are in my prayers.
I spoke with him about it, and he’s unwilling to speak to the priest together since he hasn’t accepted this yet, but I am praying for him though. But yeah, I think its best to talk to a priestYou wouldn’t be ex-communicated. Make an appointment with your priest, perhaps bring your partner with you and you can discuss your concerns and the priest can help you identify any problems with your current arrangement and help you resolve them.
Thank you for your reply, it gives me hopeYou have a very heavy cross to bear. It appears you have accepted this cross and are living a chaste and holy life. There is nothing wrong with living with a brother you love. Avoid sin, keep the sacraments, stay close to God and the rewards of heaven will overwhelm you. Help each other gain your eternal reward in heaven and don’t listen to those who want you to take earthly pleasures that would separate you from God. Put your trust in God! Sometimes he sends us horrible burdens but by faithfulness we show our love for Him. Who pleases God more? the man who has had an easy life of the one who conquers a heavy burden?
We ALL have to do this in society todayThank you for sympathy and prayer, I really appreciate it. Thank you, I’ll do that.Soulhunter182,
For your peace of mind, you might repost your question under the “Ask an Apologist” section and see if a priest will answer your post.
I congratulate you and your partners’ willingness to make chastity work within your relationship. My continued prayers are with you.
You’re very welcome. I hope the website I gave you helps, too.Thank you![]()
Thank you, yes that did cross my mind, although I am not ready to take on that road as of yet.For the present time it seems that living apart is better for your souls. Awesome!Yes thank you, Im on to it now actually![]()
This is a good suggestion. Baptist minister Tony Campolo has proposed that such same sex couples make a formal covenant that they would live together in chastity and purity. It by no means is a marriage covenant. Its a covenant of purity. I’m not sure the Catholic Church would do something for you formally, so you and you’re partner can do so with each other and continue to go to confession frequently.Personally, I think you two are fine if you stay chaste. The problem is that each of you is a possible near occasion of sin for the other. If living together, the chance of a strong temptation to sin is likely. Do speak to a priest. Oh wow. I feel like I can hardly complain about my temptations when you’re faced with that every day! Your story is very humbling and inspiring. :bowdown2:Thank you for those kind words and yes I will take your adviceAnd yes you are right, it’s not easy because it’s like we are fighting against our own nature, our own selves, and when the temptations comes, its likes a tsunami of thoughts and images, after resisting one another one comes, wave after wave it comes. After the temptation stops, sadness comes and dread and then fear that we will be dammed. And that’s on a good day!

This bears repeating.it sounds like you are making a heroic effort
