No! Quite the contrary. NM505StKate is on the right forum. We’re not here to agree, we’re here to learn.
Of course. But Kate needs to understand that, as a Catholic forum, we are all (hopefully) going to uphold the Truth of the Church.

Well…yes. She’s not going to convince anyone to change their position, and it’s doubtful anyone here will convince her to change hers.

Well, if she cannot be convinced, then she must at least be refuted lest she lead others astray (no offense intended Kate; I’m sure you think the same of us). I doubt anyone talking here now will be swayed either way but there are watchers on the sidelines (both now and in the future) who may look upon this conversation and use it to determine their viewpoint on this issue. Also, it is good practice. 😉

Secondly, what make you think anyone here is necessarily unyielding about this issue? I have doubts all the time and if someone comes up with a significantly good argument, I can be swayed, as can most others. It would probably take a lot of time, but that’s how transitions in thought come about. 🤷

Lead others astray? All I am doing is saying my end of the topic. I figure no one will be convinced but rather say it.

Yes, Kate, you may be leading others astray because what you are saying is against God.

As I said, no offense intended. Presumably you believe we are wrong. To accept what we believe would be (to you) a falsehood. Therefore, we are leading others astray, teaching them to hate their true self (or something like that) and must be stopped. The opposite logic applies in our perspective to you. Please do not be offended, that’s merely *why *we believe it important to explain our viewpoint on the topic. Let those who listen judge for themselves who is leading whom astray. 🤷

I’m generally unyielding on most issues, myself. And oppositional, too, so the harder someone tries to persuade me the more resistant I become. 🙂
