Well, if she cannot be convinced, then she must at least be refuted lest she lead others astray (no offense intended Kate; I’m sure you think the same of us). I doubt anyone talking here now will be swayed either way but there are watchers on the sidelines (both now and in the future) who may look upon this conversation and use it to determine their viewpoint on this issue. Also, it is good practice.
Secondly, what make you think anyone here is necessarily unyielding about this issue? I have doubts all the time and if someone comes up with a significantly good argument, I can be swayed, as can most others. It would probably take a lot of time, but that’s how transitions in thought come about.
