Well, I mean…we can’t force anyone to believe the way we believe. Now, are you aprehensive to accepting this teaching of the church because you still don’t believe what we’ve presented is enough or is it because you don’t want to be considered a biggot or hurt someones feelings ?

The later. Its not somuch that people will think i am a bigot. Its that i will know i am a bigot who believes they are all sinners. I know several transsexuals. One is catholic though he seems like a cultural one. One says they are either Laveyan satanist or atheist. I only talked about religion once when this was mentioned and now she has not talked about it since then. She has mentioned emotional abuse by her mother who due to her filipino ancestry i assume to be catholic. However she has said that what she enjoys in life is making people happy. Finally the third is bisexual and dates the satanist/atheist. He has not mentioned religion but when he brought up his sexuality I kind of paused and their was an awkward silence. He seems to have forgotten about it and is very friendly. If I agree to this it makes me feel like a bigot against them. I have read many hate filled articles about gays and I don’t want to be like that. It just doesn’t seem right. Sorry if that made no sense. 😦

Just a quick thing: Those acts are unable to be open to the possibility of new life by nature and when everything is working as it is meant to. I’m adding that because someone is going to jump on and say it means infertile couples shouldn’t be able to get married.
Even in the case of the infertile couple, the sexual acts of such a couple can still be open to the possibility of new life. Please allow me to explain myself here.

Because we are talking about the morality of a particular sexual act, we don’t need to consider factors that are unrelated to the sexual act (which includes factors such as the reproductive health of the couple, the time of the month, etc…). Factors that exist regardless of whether or not a given couple were planning to have sex are unrelated to a particular sexual act and therefore do not influence the morality of the said act.

Think of it like having a series of doors in a hallway. Each door has a name on it, the doors can be either opened or closed, and if you can get to the end of the hallway then a new baby will be created. The doors have the following names:
  1. Sexual Act? (opened/closed)
  2. Reproductive Health? (opened/closed)
  3. Already Pregnant? (opened/closed)
  4. Time of the month?
  5. Pre Menopause?
  6. Etc…
    New life is created
For a sexual act to be moral, door #1 must always be open no matter what. That’s all the Church says about the morality of a sexual act. Door #2 to 6 can all be closed and the sexual act can still be valid because the act itself is not closed to the possibility of new life.

In the case of homosexual sodomy, however, door 2-6 can all be open but door 1 will always be closed no matter what. I believe that is the fundamental difference between sodomy and natural infertility.

I hope that made at least a bit of sense. 😃

No. I totally get it! I actually just lost a friend a couple months ago because of this belief I hold. I have other homosexual friends as well.

Now, if you understand the churches’ position and agree that it has basis and is true…you MUST accept it regardless of the consequence or whom it might offend.
If we are followers of Christ who is the “way, the TRUTH, and the life” …we must never deny truth.

That being said …the church condems hatred towards anyone with homosexual feelings (again which are not sinful in themselves) , against those that actively practice homosexuality or any form of sinner as a matter of fact.

We are not biggots…we are simply upholding Gods law which we can in no way change or amend…our reasoning does not come from a cold withdrawn heart, hatred, or some weak deprivasion in our souls or from a hurt past.

the catechism says this on the topic :

The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection. (CCC 2357-2359)

and your friends should be able to love you irregardless of your beliefs as you should irregardless of theirs and if either can’t…you’ll know who the true biggot is.

and remember what CHrist said…" He who will not deny father, or mother or anyone else…is not worthy of Me "

actually its: He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

I understand it’s truth and that I should accept it but I can’t. I can’t deny someone something I can have just because they got put together differently. I understand that they should live chastly. But what about those who don’t? The ones who marry as best they can? Who love one another? How can I believe that by so doing they have damned themselves to hell?

Actually I don’t care if they are offended. That sounds a bit sociopathic but it’s true. What I can’t stand is knowing that i believe that they will fall into hell for love.

I never said they are damned to hell…Lol, Im sorry to say this …but it is church teaching…that actually you are in a sense in more danger because you are obstinatley denying what you know to be true. That is VERY dangerous. That is denying CHrist who is truth = denying heaven.

I don’t mean you’re going to hell…but what you are describing is a VERY serious situation.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states, "Incredulity is the neglect of revealed truth or the willful refusal to assent to it. Heresy is the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and Catholic faith, or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same;

No, no one is going to hell for love.

The sin is acting out their feelings of homosexuality. Meaning…they can love …they are encouraged to…but love does not mean engaging in sexual behavior.

There is a place and usage for sexual behavior. Even heterosexual people can abuse it and sin ( marital infidelity, using contraception, sex outside of marriage, masterbation etc )! We ALL have a responsibility over our emotions and bodies and actions.

Hell is reserved for those with Mortal sin with no repentence :

To sin mortally

one must commit a sin of grave matter (this would qualify)
know it to be sinful
and have full assent of the will (be in control of their decision to go against Gods will).

If these are present in ANY of our decisions in life and we do not repent before death…we are in danger of Hell (although we always commend EVERYONE to God’s mercy and can not ensure anyone is condemed to hell )

I’m sorry. I know this is a hard teaching and has very personal consequences. ANd in the society we live in…well, it makes it hard to follow and uphold things like this we catholics believe. But we as catholics are obliged to follow truth wherever it leads us out of love for God and love and good of our neighbor.

We cannot judge their souls and hearts. As I’m sure you know (as I do because I have homosexual friends…) …some are very amazing people…sensitive, creative, loving.

It all depends on those 3 things necessary to be in mortal sin. It’s between them and God …but we have an obligation to teach, preach and live the truth…including this one.

Ya get it ? lol

How can God send them to hell if they are good and loving? Even those who did not believe in him?
:(😊

Ok, now we’re moving onto something else ( which is cool… I love talking stuff out like this ).

Being good and loving does not get you into heaven. Neither does acknowledging God’s exhistence (example: the devil KNOWS God exhists). If we were made for a natural end…good and loving would be …good enough. But we’re not made for a natural end …we’re made for a SUPERnatural end (imortality and life with God). So NOTHING we do buys us into heaven. Heaven is not something we have coming to us…it’s a free gift of God. The church teaches that we need sanctifying grace (a share in God’s life…which we get through the sacraments) along with out participation (loving/good works/faith) and acceptence.

For those who do not believe in Him…

God is able to work outside of the sacraments to ensure salvation of ANY soul…it says in scripture that “God wills ALL men to be saved”. So, using their conscience and their knowledge they have from their place in life …what they do with what they have in sincerity to follow TRUTH ("I am the way , TRUTH and life) …God can make do with this. “For nothing is impossible for GOd”

Whatever your answer i must go to sleep. Good night and God bless.
