The name “United Nations”, coined by United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt was first used in the Declaration by United Nations of 1 January 1942, during the Second World War, when representatives of 26 nations pledged their Governments to continue fighting together against the Axis Powers. Now the UN will be asked to discuss Reparative Therapy…say what?

There is no question that the LGBT have a history and they have a timeline. If they have a history and a timeline, then it ain’t coming to an end anytime soon.

GOAL
The participant will understand major events in the history of psychiatry and homosexuality.
OBJECTIVES
• to understand how homosexuality became thought of as a psychiatric disorder
• to understand the research that led to the declassification of homosexuality as a disorder
• to have an appreciation of current professional positions on homosexuality

Timeline of LGBT history
So the LGBT have a history and a timeline that continues with a goal…

Many may not be aware that there are counter suits to the one in California and New Jersey offering that they were helped by Reparative Therapy and want to help others, seen here…

huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/04/aaron-bitzer-gay-conversion-therapy-california-gay-cure-ban_n_1939908.html
A Southern California college student who claims he reversed his own homosexuality with reparative therapy has filed a lawsuit against California for its ban on “gay cures.”
Aaron Bitzer, of Culver City, is studying to be an ex-gay therapist and says, along with two other co-plaintiff therapists, that the ban prevents them from doing their job and infringes on their rights to free speech, privacy and freedom of religion, Gay Star News reports.
The other plaintiffs are Donald Welsch, a minister and family therapist who operates a Christian counseling center in San Diego; and Dr. Anthony Duk, a psychiatrist and practicing Roman Catholic.
We all know about the California Law Suit…

Lawsuit Filed Over California Gay ‘Conversion’ Therapy Ban
and they are trying to silence Johah in New Jersey.

abcnews.go.com/Health/nj-lawsuit-alleges-jonah-gay-conversion-therapy-fraud/story?id=17814302
Four gay men and two of their mothers filed a lawsuit today against a New Jersey conversion therapy group that claims to rid men of same-sex attractions and turn them straight.
The lawsuit, filed in Superior Court of New Jersey Hudson County, alleges that methods used by the Jersey City-based Jews Offering New Alternatives to Healing (JONAH) do not work and constitute fraud under the state’s consumer protection laws.
the next step, the UN, why not…lets try to get world consensus on this awful terrible therapy that does not work and do harm…

UN Tackles Gay ‘Conversion Therapy’ For First Time
A panel of mental health experts, human rights advocates, religious leaders and a former patient gathered Thursday at the United Nations Church Center to discuss a controversial therapy that claims to “cure” gay people and make them straight. Although such practices have been around for decades, the concept has come under increased scrutiny over the last five years as lawsuits and litigation attempt to curb the “conversion therapy” and the mainstream mental health profession renounces it.
The panel is the first at the U.N. to directly address this so-called therapy, sometimes referred to as sexual orientation change efforts.
The panel was organized by Bruce Knotts, the director of the Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office, and Mordechai Levovitz, the LGBT advocacy coordinator there, both of whom are openly gay, and have had brushes with conversion therapy.
Yet, in California, the notion that Reparative Therapy is harmful has been shown to be a farce as pointed out in the legal briefs…as discussed in this thread…

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=745626&page=2

Post 23…

The Legislature most particularly relied upon the American Psychological Association’s (APA) 2009 Report of the Task Force on Appropriate Therapeutic Responses to Sexual Orientation convened by the APA (“Task Force Report”).
According to the Legislature, the Task Force “conducted a systematic review of peer-reviewed journal literature on sexual orientation change efforts, and . . . concluded that sexual orientation change efforts can pose critical health risks to lesbian, gay, and bisexual people, …” (ER 00482).
In fact, the Task Force Report does not support the Legislature’s conclusion that SOCE is harmful to minors and therefore constitutes unprofessional conduct. (ER 00215-00352). Instead, throughout the report, the Task Force states that there is insufficient evidence to conclude that SOCE is either harmful or beneficial for adults, and no evidence regarding the efficacy of SOCE for children and youth. (ER 00215-00352). “Research on SOCE (psychotherapy, mutual self-help groups, religious techniques) has not answered basic questions of whether it is safe or effective and for whom.
There is no LGBT agenda, there are no disciples trying to propsper the opinions of the American Psychatiric Association, run by homosexuals, it is all just a figment of my imagination…or is it…The UN will be faced with fighting the Axis of Evil…no Reparative Therapy…for whom, by whom, for what?

Thoughts.

Reparative therapy works for some. This makes gay marriage activists incandescent …so they try and stifle and suppress it.

John,

This picks up on your thread on Reparative Therapy…and the science all the disciples of the homosexual/symptathizers promote as science saying it is harmful is balderdash…

No science…none at all…

You’re delusional.

You’re delusional.
Slavonic,

I know. I often see Monikers that say Byzantine Catholic and then see postings that promote homosexuality…sometimes I wonder how it is my view of the world is so skewed?😃

Gay people, Christian or not, simply seek to better their lives and practice what they believe. The lifestyle of course is wrong, but doesn’t mean homosexuals are actively establishing some sort of world dominion. This kind of rhetoric kinda remind me of things like “The protocols of the elder of Zions” where a minority group is branded as an evil organization conspiring to conquer the world. The result isn’t too pretty.

to “conquer the world” merely means to dominate, psychologically. If you dominate psychologically, you also do so politically, even if “you”/“your group” is a numerical minority, because it is omnipresent influence that you seek.

The domination is sought to give a minority lifestyle majority privileges and stature, to stifle opposition, and to transform perception universally (through psychological pressure), so that immorality will be viewed, permanently, as moral.

Bonus,

Where do you think these conspiracies lead?

Methinks all here would be better served if the word ‘conspiracy’ with all it’s attendant, deprecating conotations, which in turn causes all to be disbelieved, were to be jettisoned. Mayhap agenda is a better word?

Nim,

What is “Mayhap agenda”…?

I thank God that this wretched ‘therapy’ is falling out of favor and that. Those who delight in hatred and bullying of people with SSA are losing this battle.

It’s pretty much over already!

Those people held out for a long time, but like the creationists, everyone is realizing that what is truly driving their agenda is hatred and fear.

Veritas,

I have bad news for you.

Continue to thank God.

The Therapy is the therapy, is not falling out of favor, and will continue.

No one delights in hatred. Some people ask for and should get help. There will be division in those that say Homosexuality is fixed behavior and nothing other than counesling them to accept their plight and those that say it is not fixed and those that seek help to aid their plight. That is the reality of what it will be. Get used to it and then continue to pray.

We do hate those that hate and those that fear and I fear that the homosexual agenda is fearfully weak and the attempt to silence thought and belief is born of hatred of truth…

It is over when it is over…and the tragedy is you will have to change the way you view things based on this posting.

What you need to know is for all we know, homosexuality may be an innate disability and therefore to speak ill of those with this kind of attraction could be the same as speaking ill of them is not considered charitable. You say you are a Coptic Christian, so I don’t know if you’re a Coptic Catholic or Coptic Orthodox, but the Catholic Catechism teaches that people with same sex attraction are struggling and we have the responsibility to treat them with charity and respect. Many people with same sex attraction are living our their lives in chastity and awaiting the coming of God. Are you saying they want to conquer the world “psychologically” as well?

I pray that God will grant you peace of mind and perhaps a better understanding of people different from you

Sincerely, an SSA Catholic

I see you are new here. Please avoid using scare tactics. The gay agenda is fully documented. Go to any gay news site.

Peace,
Ed

I doubt that God will chide me for failing to bully those with SSA or force them into pseudo-scientific ‘therapies’ that demean them.

If this is truly the behavior demanded by God then let Him come and tell me so. There seem to be a whole lot of people claiming to speak for Him, but he’s not doing much talking Himself.

Ed, great job of people hospitable as usual…not. 😛

I can’t believe you are accusing this person of scare tactics while you spout off about the so-called homosexual agenda and advocate for this pseudo-scientific claptrap that is causing individuals with SSA tremendous pain.

Bonus,

Do you see yourself as part of this gay history, gay timeline, those trying to stop freedom of speech in California, New Jersey and the United Nations?

Ed,

glad you jumped in…I know you know that this is real…and have posted about it…thank you…🙂

Lux,
pseudo-scientific ‘therapies’ that demean them.
and you formed this opinion by reading Nicolosi’s work, studying what, reading what…how is it you are able to decide that something is psuedo or truly science…tell me without appealing to the American Psychiatric Association as an appeal to authority that is not authority.

Try reading the very articles you posted.

For example, JONAH:

abcnews.go.com/Health/nj-lawsuit-alleges-jonah-gay-conversion-therapy-fraud/story?id=17814302
One of the plaintiffs alleges that therapy sessions that involved a virtual “strip tease” in front of an older male counselor, as well as reliving abuse and homophobia were “humiliating.”
This is not demeaning to you? This is “scientific” to you? This is worthy mental health care to you?

This is a course of action that Christ would endorse? Strip-teases and verbal abuse?

Bonus,

Do you see yourself as part of this gay history, gay timeline, those trying to stop freedom of speech in California, New Jersey and the United Nations?
If you respond to PastorBonus’s question with an answer rather than an insinuation, perhaps this debate will move forward?
