House Democrat files article of impeachment against Trump

Insofar as the left continues to support intrinsic evils like abortion, euthanasia, and gay marriage, I don’t see that as ultimately possible. Seriously, until those key items are rejected as central issues, I don’t think the left will never establish a permanent majority.
My hope would be that you are correct.

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) formally introduced an article of impeachment against President Trump on Wednesday that accuses the president of obstructing justice during the federal investigation of Russia’s 2016 election interference.

This is the first time a lawmaker has offered an impeachment article against Trump, and it comes as Democrats have debated whether it is politically wise to press the case for impeachment at this time.
It is NOT politically wise. AFAIK there are NO legal grounds for impeachment of the President at this time.

Actually, no. I don’t watch cable news at all. I listened to Hannity on the radio a few times and quickly realized that the same points he made are made here. I also noticed that if some sort of bizarre talking point came up, it usually started on Fox News.
Echoed by Rush.

It is doubtful many Republicans, if any, on this committee, believe that President Trump commited obstruction of justice and would be willing to move forward with impeachment proceedings.
Actually according to the Constitution, “high crimes and misdemeanors” are grounds for impeachment.

Or whatever grounds the Republicans used to impeach Bill Clinton.

I believe the left feels like they may have lost this particular battle, but will win the war.
I think probably the swing is to the right. People begin to see all the nonsense and the childishness of the lefts.

I think the Democrats are fools to try to get Pres Trump removed. He’s far less ideological., far less capable, and far less liked than VP Pence. If the Democrats are unhappy under Trump, I think they’d be positively apoplectic under Pence.

I think this is just noise to create 2018 campaign material. There’s no way the Democrats would rather have Pence.
I’ve been thinking the same thing. Not only is Pence more conservative than Trump, he’s respected quite a bit more. That means that not only will he push more conservative policies, but he may actually get quite a few of them through. Personally I like Pence more than Trump and would like to see him in office, but a sitting president should not be removed simply because he is disliked. That will set a bad precedent that may come back to haunt democrats in the future.

I agree with you, but Trump, like him or hate him, he has the star factor. Those kind of things are like charism which few people are gifted with. You either have it or you don’t.

In that sense, Trump is set apart from most other politicians presently. He is able to have people noticing him which is an important factor for a public leadership figure.

Pence would come as a decent person and would be acceptable to most people, at least character wise. But should he be President, he would need strong party and strong support from everybody. Would he be able to change and move people’s opinion? Probably would be difficult.

EDIT:

As it is now, he is very much a side kick to the President to smooth thing out when there is some problem where his presence would be more appropriate. Otherwise he still lack the necessary large following of his own.

I believe the latter is true of most VP’s. They gain a following if and when they decide to run for President.

I hope you’re right about that. We do know that the left will never give up so the battle
continues to try and regain our moral compass

Yes, that’s what I was saying. However, some VPs made it, some didn’t. I think Pence would do well, he would be able to hold onto Trump’s followers and probably will win over some fence sitters with his clean personality outlook and decent family man image.

And I think after Trump, the country might be ready for a more sedate, even boring, type of President.

hmmm…

Kid Rock will be running for senator, and Dwane “The Rock” Johnson name is circuling the internet for 2020.

That is so true about them - so much so they’d do stupid things. So they will look immature and childish rather than doing the serious business of running the government, making the country prosper and great again.

Obama was not a good example in doing things despite the popularity. So the swing to right would be the natural way to go. Trump is a testimony to it and as long he can keep the ship steady, it is hard to go back to the aimlessness of the lefts.

I agree. Trump is a revolution, to change things. Once they are settled, people would desire peace and stability. And maybe less politic. There’ll be no war if nobody comes.

I pray we never see Dwane Johnson run. One “cool” president is enough!
Please stick to acting Dwane.
