How can people say homosexuality doesn't hurt anyone

Luckily for me, it seems my atheist soul is impervious to all helpful medical procedures and devices. 🙂

Any sexual act has the potential to hurt someone if proper precautions are not followed. Safer sex practices reduce the risk of STI’s and other sex related issues. STI’s are not limited to anal or homosexual sex.

You appear to want to single of homosexual sex so that you can feel justified in demonizing them as a group. If you are worried about gays transmitting a disease to you, don’t have gay sex.

Also, I assume you only are referring to homosexual males here as lesbians have a much lower rate of STIs like HIV.

Are you all for lesbian sex since it is much safer?

You’re like a broken record. I’ve answered your question several different times now. No one is saying that homosexual or heterosexual sex doesn’t spread disease. I don’t know what “gay supporters” you are talking about who make this claim. I also don’t know what diseases you are specifically referring to. So answer the following questions so we can have a productive conversation.

Heterosexual activity spreads disease. Being straight doesn’t give you a free pass from disease. I’m sure that homosexuals know about STDs. I’m sure, at least in the USA, they all took some type of health class in school. Not all homosexuals have diseases. Just like not all heterosexuals are disease free.

I said in the OP any type of sexual activity outside of what God commands spreads disease. [notice I didn’t say 100% of sexual activity] So you understand that homosexuality spreads disease but why do their supporters say it doesn’t hurt anyone?

No, I am not. I am stating that homosexual activity is -more likely to- because homosexuals are more likely to engage in anal sex. Also, you are correct, I do not have a problem with homosexuals as people. I do, however, take issue with homosexual activities because they are an abuse of sexuality.

This isn’t a matter of medicine, as condoms aren’t medicine. They’re a piece of latex or other plastic. They only take on immoral status when the person chooses to use them in a manner which defeats the purpose of the sexual act. Condom != Blood Transfusions. Furthermore, the snarkyness of this comment betrays a misunderstanding about Catholic teaching. We embrace all licit medicine (that which is created morally and has a moral purpose). The only thing procedures we disagree with are those that prevent a bodily member from operating as it was intended (sterilization, for example, which prevent the body’s sexual faculties from operating in the manner in which they were designed.)

I don’t even know what the last sentence was for other than to unnecessarily express the fact that you’re an atheist.

Can you give a link to these supporters who claim that homosexuals don’t have diseases or that they don’t spread them? I’ve never heard any gay person claim that homosexual sex can’t spread disease, just like I’ve never heard any heterosexual advocate say that straight sex can’t spread disease.
If you are just pin pointing to the fact that gay sex can equal passing a disease then therefore, it hurts people. You have to know that any type of relationship can hurt someone. Be it from disease, a heart break, death, etc. It isn’t a good argument.

Have you ever heard anyone at all say “homosexuality/gay marriage doesn’t harm anyone”? Yes you have heard people say it. I’ve even seen Catholics on this board say it.

So you don’t have any quotes or citations from specific groups. Just the ubiquitous “they” i guess.

Any specific diseases you think the homosexuals are spreading or is it just “diseases” in general as well.

You are the one who brought up disease in the OP. And I totally said much more in that post.
I am not pro gay marriage, but I don’t see how a monogamous relationship/ “marriage” can spread disease, because those people usually aren’t sleeping around.
I don’t agree with your argument. 🤷

Yes I did bring up disease because gays spread AIDS around more than any other group at 52%

You don’t see how a “monogamous” gay marriage can spread disease? sorry, I have to laugh at that. 😃

AIDS is a disease that can be passed on through any exchange of bodily fluids. It is not limited to homosexuals or homosexual activities. The reason that homosexuals are so much more likely to contract the disease is because of the dangerous nature of their primary sexual activity.

Gays are the largest group with AIDS at 52%.

Maybe you don’t know what monogamy means? It means that you only have one sexual partner at a time. If a disease free gay person decides to have a monogamous relationship with another disease free gay person, disease won’t be spread. OR if Henry has AIDS and Tommy has AIDS and they enter into a monogamous relationship, they wouldn’t be spreading disease, because they both already had it. After monogamy has been explained, are you still laughing or do you still not understand?

I know what monogamy means.:yawn: I was suggesting that very few gays are monogamous “married” or not.
