When murder is a crime - especially when justice is not delayed, and is commensurate with the crime - murders are at least minimized. When murder is not a crime, murders increase

So are you suggesting that if abortion is banned, ie: illegal, then we will start to punish the mothers who got the abortion commensurate with the crime they committed. Death penalty, or life in prison for obtaining an abortion?

Depends on the circumstances.

I am all for that type of punishment, but most of society isn’t. They don’t want to punish the woman, just the doctor which is a strange stance in my view.

We need to stop worrying about what most of society wants, and start worrying about what is right and just. The 7 lawyers who instituted Roe v Wade by Judicial Fiat did not hold a nationwide referendum to institute the current abortion policy. They simply instituted their preferred policy, consequences be damned. The law affects culture and public opinion. When something is legal, people are more likely to be accepting of it.

Depends on the people. Some people don’t care if things are legal or not, they do them. Others who know things are legal, but immoral still do them.

So who gets to determine what is permitted in society, since you don’t want to worry about what the rest of society wants. What if the rest of society doesn’t want to consider what you want. Both are arguing for the same thing from different positions.

See where this gets you. No where.
