To all who responded to this thread,

Thank you very much.
I have told the truth and used scripture to support my position.
You can either accept in or not.
I have no desire to repeat things over and over.
I will not be posting on this thread any further

Been watching this from the begginning. I leanred alot, and I thank everyone who’s put up a good fight. Made me cherish and understand my faith even more.🙂

God bless!👍

I think that is funny. I “knew” I was born again as well (in the same way you believe it). Then, I fell away after the friend who brought me to church died. I alternated between atheist and agnostic for a while before I started to go to church again. It wasn’t until I converted to Catholicism that I really began to follow God. I still have a lot of work to do, but with the help of the Holy Spirit and a lot of intercessions I am hopeful to join Our Lord in heaven.

To say “I know that I am born again” sounds like you believe you will never have a crisis of faith. I hope you don’t, but you really should work your salvation out in fear and trembling like St Paul says to.

When you become born again there is a change.
If there is no change then you are probably not born again.
Think of acts 2 when the Holy Spirit came and everyone started speaking in tongues.
They became born again. That is what it means. The Holy Spirit comes upon you. You are never the same again. You are born of the Holy Spirit.
Not every experience is the same. As a matter of fact, probably no two are exactly the same.
Each testimony is different but they all give glory to God.

This is a cop-out. I had a profound change when I was “born again,” but after my friend died I rejected God and became a strong atheist. You are under the delusion that you will never have this happen to you. There is no way for you to know.

But, it is not the first time that a OSAS Protestant has made this convenient claim that the person who disavows Christianity was never saved in the first place. If it is true, then no one can claim an assurance of salvation, because they would not know if their experience was a “true” experience. The only way to find out it wasn’t is after you have fallen.

Work out your salvation in fear and trembling.

Hi,

My hubby was baptized and raised catholic. Let me tell you he is not a born again christian by any stretch of the imagination. He has only been to church a handful of times since he was 18 and he is 44 now. He shows very little fruit that Jesus speaks of.
He has very little knowledge of Christ and what He did for us on the cross. Thankfully he has me as his wife:p I do explain the gospel to him when the HS nudges me.👍 Mostly I live by example:thumbsup:
Dont get me wrong I love my hubby and he is a good husband and father but he is not saved:(

Im sorry if Im coming across harsh but Im very passionate about the fact that being catholic is not the magic bullet for getting into heaven.😦
IT IS CHRIST and as soon as my hubby accepts that he will be joing me in heaven:D AMEN!!
His baptism did not save him at all. I can say that if my hubby were to die today(God forbid) he would not be going to heaven. That makes me very sad but it is true and my prayer for him and my son is that God not take them until He has saved them.😃

Myself and my daughter have accepted the gospel(Thanks be to God:D )

AMEN!!!
just do your best.by the way, you dont get “saved”. theres simply no such thing in that manner that you can do on earth. its about a life time of desicions toward god. and remember, catholic faith teaches forgiveness even on the death bed, he could repent in his last seconds.

good luck to u. plant the seed of faith and let the trinity water it!

I never said anything about osas

I never said anything about osas
You implied it because you believe that someone with a born again experience won’t revert because of their profound change. I was born again, had a profound changed and later turned atheist.

It happens.

Where are you now anyway?
Still atheist?

And I never even mentioned the letters osas until you did

You know that you are born again when you accept Jesus Christ into your heart as Lord and Savior and you recieve the Holy Ghost as a result. He raises your dead spirit from the dead and thus, you are born again. Baptism is a picture of Christ’s dead, burial and resurrection and the fact that we are buried with Him in the likeness of His death, raised to walk in newness of life.

Hey, Frodo!

Everyone has been waiting for you over in the thread where you claimed the Catholic Church teaches heresy.

See you there soon?

So how does a baby get born again?

I am interested in your answer to these questions:

Do you believe OSAS?

If I am born again, and I sin, what must I do?

If I have to repent, what if I do not repent?

I don’t believe osas

If you sin read Rom7-8

Is the Catholic interpretation of being born again heresy?
