I think they are great but it should go both ways! and sometimes I think it can go to far. For instance the man ALWAYS being expected to pay for a date. And also I think someone mentioned tipping your hat at a woman when she walks in a room and or standing up. And to me that seems a bit overkill and I would HATE that sort of attention personally. And if I were a man I would be like what are all these women royalty or something…?
Things like opening a door if he is the first one to get to it are fine with me. Whoever gets there first should be the one to open it. My husband always insists on opening the door though if we get there at about the same time.
As for things like not swearing around women it depends. I think if you are in a group of mostly aquaintences that you are not real familar with then it shouldn;t matter whether or not there are any women there or not you should keep a lid on the potty mouth. But if it is a group of friends and you know thwe woman/women have no problem with it I donlt see why not…
And one other thing…I donlt really get what is so bad about a woman being the one to ask a guy out for the first time or anytime after that or ask a guy to marry her. I mean think about how many lovely couples might not be here today if the woman hadn;t taken that first step? I mean why really do you think that way? Is it just a matter of well it;s tradition and I donlt really have any other good reason. Or do you really have a reason?
