I agree, but at the same time, I struggle with guilt sometimes. Like why can’t I stay up long enough to finish my prayer? I have these small thoughts that shoot me down at times saying “you can’t even finish a prayer, tish tish tish”
I’ve only recently started to pray the Rosary daily, and am finding it is rewarding but more often then not at the moment anyway, very challenging.
That isn’t going to stop me though!
I heard somewhere that all the unfinished rosaries said are joined together to make one big rosary. Don’t know who said it; it’s a comforting thought, though. I can’t think of a better way to fall asleep - with Jesus and His Mother on my mind.

We will say the rosary with EWTN, or in the car. We found the kids say it best in the car - captive audience, so to speak, with nowhere to go and nothing else to do…😉 We live about 15 minutes away from our parish, so we usually finish as we pull into the parking lot. It’s a great way to prepare for Mass, too.

Here are ways that I say the Rosary.
  1. On my knees at bedtime. Although sometimes my days are long so I had to find other ways so…
  2. Starting in the shower before I go to bed and then finish what is left on my knees.
  3. When I work out on the treadmill.
  4. On Relevan Radio at 9pm Father Groschell says the Rosary. it is quite beautiful. Sometimes I just listen and sometimes I have so much to do that I may also be folding clothes or doing dishes as well.
  5. My 5 year old daughter has started to like to say the Rosary. Whenever she wants to - we pray the Rosary.
If I just make a point of praying - no matter what I am doing - especially the Rosary - at least I am always praying. On a treadmill It probably only takes 12 minutes. Not to much out of my day to spend doing something our Blessed Mother loves us to do. But we are all busy. And at least taking that busyness and giving it to God has been a good thing for me. I feel blest with grace more now that I try to say the Rosary daily as well as other prayers.

Hope this helps!

God BLess,
Donna:)

How many of you drive more than 20 minutes during your days?

The rosary takes only about 17 minutes and is a perfect meditation of the life of Christ.
I suggest that you go to the Mary Foundation supersite and get their FREE CD The Mary Foundation Rosary (they also have it on audio cassette!) and use it to help you redeem the time that we let slip by us when driving. It also contains the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Memorare, St. Michael Prayer and some others.

Make the time people…we all need all the graces that we can get.
Pax vobiscum,
I also use the Mary Foundation tape in my car going back and forth to work. (Mary Foundation has many free wonderful tapes) If there is a lot of traffic then I can finish a whole mystery otherwise I finish it on the way home. I am a little embarrassed to say the other usual place I pray the Rosary but I will share it anyway. The Bathroom. I can’t finish the whole Rosary but a decade here and a decade there. I can’t think of a better way to use my time. Is there any body else that wants to fess up to the location?

I usually pray a Decade every night just before I go to sleep.I still find it sort of difficult too pray the Rosary, but am gradually getting better.

Dear springbreeze,

Sometime ago I didn’t know how to pray the rosary,I wasn’t interested in praying it either.
Then I started to practice it by praying it.I didn’t really intent to pray it though so without a sincere heart I recited the rosary and got bored by it and after some times I quitted praying the rosary.
But then again I felt I needed to pray the rosary:) and before I started praying I asked Mother Mary and even my guardian angel and Patron Saints to guide me so I could recite and contemplate the mysteries of the rosary with a sincere heart and didn’t let me dwell.Since then I pray the rosary everyday even in times that I am so weary and in times of trials and tribulations I can’t pass my day without reciting the rosary.Even in times that I can’t concentrate and boreness attacks me,I must pray the rosary. The rosary is my strength and hope.If some catholics admit/claim they can’t put some time aside to pray any prayers daily,it’s so sad,we keep offending our Good God:crying: How can’t we spend praying to God even only for a minute daily?
Springbreeze,I pray the rosary in anyplace at home, but you can do it in church as well.At home I lock myself in anyplace that I can hide myself to pray the rosary in peace without any member of family disturb me,but before you do it you tell them that you are about to pray so they know and let you undisturbed. You can even tell your daughter so knows what her mom will do.She’ll learn the rosary well if she grows older, but you need to recite and contemplate the rosary by yourself right now.Ask the Holy Spirit to help you and as I mentioned above even ask Mary, your guardian angel and patron saint to guide you praying the rosary well. They won’t let you dwell:) You can pray the rosary after everybody in the house goes asleep too.Choice’s yours:)

God bless and don’t worry, you’ll find your way back to pray the rosary:)
Dear friend

No matter how hard I try I cannot pray the Rosary anymore.

All I am able to do is pray one decade and I can only do this because I ask my daughter to sit and say it with me, she says a bit and joins in a bit, she is only 3 years old but knows her Hail Mary and Our Father. I can pray the Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament…I don’t know…

I don’t know what has happened to me and I am quite sad about this. I am still praying and otherwise my prayer vocal and mental is fine as well as daily living as prayer, but cannot pray the Rosary.😦 Infact all learnt prayer is very hard for me…what on earth has happened to me???

I just end up sitting holding my beads and talking and listening to God.

Any suggestions???

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

I pray 20 decades everyday.
One on my morning driving to work. Usually another one when I take my 20-minute break and walk around the office building. Probably another one on my driving back home, or I may leave the other two when I get to church for my daily Adoration.

For me, rosary is the pathway to contemplation.

I started saying the rosary relatively recently–we never said it as a family growing up. I would say 5 decades while out walking.

Now that it is summer, we are saying the rosary every morning as a family–a lovely tradition. The idea now is to say the different mysteries on M-Th, then the Divine Mercy chaplet on Fridays and a litany on Saturdays. We just started this so we’ll see how it goes. But the idea of a family rosary is fully planted!

I ripped the St Philomena Foundation CDs ripped to my iPod to help to the Rosary nightly.

saintphilomena.com/Howreq.htm

I do 5 decades a night around 10:30pm-11pm starting time before bed. I find I sleep so much more peaceful afterwards. The rotation also includes the new ones on Thursdays.

A lot of times, I get a rosary in while running errands or driving to work. Otherwise, I just make time at home.

Recently I’ve been able to say all 5 decades at once, since I can’t work due to ill health.

I haven’t said a rosary since Lent 😊 I’ve been thinking about starting again but I always forget. I think I’ll pray one tonight.

Since May I’ve been doing a 54 day Rosary Novena, so I’ve been praying all of the Mysteries during the week. It’s really difficult for me to say the Rosary, as I tend to get distracted easily, but wow, what a difference it has made! I’ve learned that the best time for me to pray it is at night when I’m alone. I’ve tried doing it in churches or before/after Mass, and although it’s beneficial, I can’t help but get distracted. I hope I’ll be able to continue with saying the Rosary once school starts again.

I normally say the rosary when I am driving. As a child, my mother always used to pray with us wherever we were going. I find it a good time to meditate (without losing concentration on the road of course!)

I try to say the Rosary daily. I usually do unless I’m in despair, which is when I should do it most. I have to have a structured setting to concentrate. That can be hard with four kids running around. It can be discouraging if I can’t focus. But I try to be an example to the kids. Sometimes, I say the rosary in my twins bedroom as they are going to sleep. It puts them right out. It’s a nice bedtime “story”. Tim

I do it in the evening and before I pray I ask Mother Mary,my guardian angel and patron saints for their guide so I can pray with concentration and don’t dwell.I have a place on my own to pray, sometimes I do it in the livingroom,in the bedroom, far from noise and distraction. After I finish my rosary I continue saying the litany of Holy Mary and on friday I add my prayers by contemplating the station of the cross plus my absency on meat.
Also I make an act of contrition daily during my rosary.

Laudate Dominum

I say the rosary (5 decades) on Sundays and on Holy Days of Obligation. Sometimes I say a decade for special occasions too, like for penance or something.

I did it every day for a while but it didn’t feel right anymore, for personal reasons.

I usually start saying it when I walk to church, then I go on on the way back.
Or sometimes I say it on the bus or something, or I just mae some special time… like go on a “rosary walk”. 🙂
