I suggest you curb your hatred for Tradition and attend one of their masses, the True Mass. Perhaps then you should also pick up Michael Davies’ Pope Paul’s New Mass, a very good book.
I’m sure most Novus Ordo Catholics haven’t done any study whatsoever on what actually happened. They just say that we’re “more catholic than the pope” and go along with everything the pope says, even when some of his actions are questionable. The error of Novus Ordo Catholics is that they think the pope is more Catholic than the Church, which is clearly wrong.
It will probably take a while, but I’m eager to see Archbishop Lefebvre canonized for his heroic acts against modernism and liberalism. He would be a fantastic saint to pray to.
May God bless the Church and those who have strayed.
Your post is false. It rings of rhetorical propaganda. Truth does not need such lies. Let me point some out.
I have never commented negatively about Tradition and embrace Catholic Tradition. I do not hate Tradition. This was slander. This was a lie. Unless one equates the SSPX with Tradition, then you had no basis for this statement. If you do equate the two, then you ignore all those who embrace Tradition but have remained obedient to the Holy Father (a rather noble Catholic Tradition that the SSPX ignores when convenient).
Second, this statement, "I’m sure most Novus Ordo Catholics haven’t done any study whatsoever on what actually happened. " Shows the classic propaganda technique of labeling to marginalize a group. There is actually no such animal as a “Novus Ordo Catholic.” I defy you to show any Church document that creates a group. Yet by marginalizing almost all Catholics as somewhat of a lower class than you, then you set up the SSPX for the next stage of propaganda - the remnant. One more thing, this statement reflects an arrogance that anyone who really knew what happended would have to agree with the SSPX. Cardinal Ratzinger knew what happened. John Paul II knew what had happened. Neither joined the SSPX. God knew what happened and will be the ultimate judge. Thus of us that embrace the Catholic Faith will continue to trust in His divine leadership.
Those familiar with the Bible will understand that the concept of “The Remnant” was never a Church concept but one applied to the Nation of Israel. As they turned over and over again to false gods, they were punished and only the faithful survived. While this concept has been embraced by the SSPX, it ignores the universality of the Catholic Church. The Church, the Body of Christ, is
not a remnant. Yet in their efforts to be special the SSPX clings to their own uniqueness as a red badge of courage, denying in practice any sensum fidei or leadership in the Catholic Church… No, it is they who are right and everyone else is wrong. The Holy Spirit is guiding the Church through them, not the Pope, bishops and the faithful. While the SSPX is not a cult, this is a very cultish attitude. It is attractive for those wanting to be unique, though.
May God bless the Church and those who have strayed.
What a way to end. In a strange twist we have the Catholic Church straying from itself.
I would like to reinterate that I know that all SSPX attendees are not this negative toward the Catholic Church. I just believe that the danger of being poisoned increases the more one feeds on this sort of mentality.
