here goes again. how do your authorities got their authority? did they read the Bible and assumed their authority? or were they one of the Apostles or ones appointed by the Apostles?
Pastors are called by the Holy Spirit.

**They study what was left, suceeded to all of us by the Apostles the Holy Bible. **

They learn Greek and Hebrew, some Aramaic. They translate the Holy Bible from the original languages in classes.

They have a stint as a “student Pastor” then back to the seminary for another year.

Then they are ordained.

no, the Church of the Creed is the One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church and not Orthodox. so, all must return to her.

there is only one Church by the Title of Catholic Church from the beginning and remains so. it never changed to any other name neither took this title from no other.
Are we talking Catholic here or catholic?

Is the Catholic Church of today the catholic Church that Jesus is building on the truth of the statement of Peter? No we hear it over and over the Catholic Church is built on Peter.

My church is built on the truth of the statement made by Peter. The truth given to us by the Apostles, found in the Holy Bible.

The church whose foundation is:

Ephesians 2
20built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

What exactly did the Apostles do to be considered the foundation? They proclaimed, taught what Jesus taught, the Gospel, what we have now in the Holy Bible.

and just how they got this ordination from?

as we know in the Bible shows how Jesus Personally ordained the Apostles and the Apostles ordained others as they found faithfull man.

now, among you since you have no such, how did you assume you have such a right as to ordain people to speak for God?

did not Jesus chose people to speak for Him? which is called succession passed on?

and just how one can say that the HS ordained them? how? how do you know is the HS? we cannot see the HS doing such, all we have is your word. but in the Bible we can see the Ordination by Christ and the Apostles.

There was no Bible until the late fourth century when the Catholic Church infallibly defined the canon.

What of the ~350 years between Pentecost and the Bible?

Jesus established one, visible, authoritative, apostolic teaching Church, He didn’t pass out Bibles for everyone to pick up and interpret on their own so that they might establish their own church.
[bibledrb]Rom 10:14-16[/bibledrb]
So you can’t preach without being sent. Who does the sending?
[bibledrb]John 20:21[/bibledrb]
Jesus sent the apostles, not some Johnny come lately with a new spin on the Bible.

Ok, but who determine the Truth of the Gospel? who determine that the CC is wrong? you? who?

Is there be a pastor or elder who is recognised by all protestants today to be the wisest and most knowledgeable about the Bible and therefore is the highest theological authority in protestantism today?

There is no need for it. Anyone can see if a teaching is Biblical or not. Problem with some JW, Oneness Pentacostals, Mormons- non-trinitarian “christians”- they are not allowing Scripture to interprete Scripture. Or in the case of one of the cults have a whole new Book!

It is possible Catholic will never understand. Christians don’t need that single person. Catholics place all authority on the Pope.

Trinitarian Christians place that authority in what was given by Jesus to the Disciples and Apostles and then handed down to us- GOD’s Word. A direct line to the teaching of Jesus.

**Have you ever been to a multi-denominational trinitarian Christian Bible study? You would be amazed at how much we actually think alike. **

Where Trinitarian Christians see unity in the one faith of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and diversity in celebrating that faith, Catholics simply see division and confusion.

If Scripture interprets Scripture then why are there tens of thousands of denominations all teaching different things?

Where does Scripture say what constitutes Scripture?

Many years passed before one line of what would become the New Testament was written. What did Christians do in that period?

does any of you have authority to determine who is teaching a false doctrine and who is not?

I see. So all Trinitarian Christians believe in the biblical teaching of the Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist?

They have to. It’s right there in the Bible, even in the lite version preferred by Protestants (the one with some of the books thrown out.)

For those Questioning when the Church started referring to itself as Catholic and why…

After the death of Christ, Christians were the ones who evangelized and spread the gospel. Ignatius of Antioch was the first to refer to them as Catholics. What were they called before?

A:
Originally Christians weren’t even called Christians. They were called “disciples” (i.e., “students”) of Jesus of Nazareth. Later, in the city of Antioch, they received the name “Christians” (Acts 11:26). This probably happened in the A.D. 30s. This term spread very quickly—probably to the chagrin of those Jewish individuals who did not wish to acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah (Christ).

Ultimately, however, different groups began to break off from the Christian community, falling into either heresy or schism. These groups still wished to represent themselves as Christian—and many of them were, retaining valid baptism and a profession of faith in Christ. Consequently, a new word was needed to distinguish the Christians belonging to the Church that Christ founded from those belonging to the churches that had split off from it.

The term that was picked was kataholos, which means according to the whole or universal in Greek. The thought was apparently that these were Christians who believed and practiced according to what body of Christians as a whole did, in contrast to what some particular group thought or did. Over the course of time, kataholoscame to be represented by the parallel English word “Catholic.”

Ignatius of Antioch did not introduce kataholos. However, his letters contain the earliest known uses of it. It may well have been used in other Christian writings prior to this, but we have simply lost them. It certainly was in general use in speech before this point, because Ignatius writes in such a way that he already expects his readers to know this term and what it means. He also uses the term in more than one of his letters, meaning that he expects people in more than one place to know the term.

This indicates that in his day—at the beginning of the second century (circa A.D. 107)—the term was already in widespread use. For it to be used in such a broad manner, it would have required some time to pass into currency in the Christian community, meaning that the term probably was coined sometime in the second half of the first century. We don’t know who first used it, but it was a suitable description of the Church Christ founded and so was already in general use by the time Ignatius wrote.

well done. and this is so until this day. but some have used the ecumenism to discredit the CC as the True Church. today we see many Catholics discarding that the Church is not made up of Catholics only but everyone who is a believer despite of their beliefs.

there is no more separation, to some the Church is everyone who professes Christ. for some there is no such thing is false teachings. everything goes now and days.

Well being a Catholic I can only assume a Protestant might answer, Wisdom, how do you know if Jesus was still walking the earth, that He would not ordain someone in person whom His Spirit has ordained? We only have yours and the CC Church’s word that she has not strayed and that Jesus has not ordained others through the Holy Spirit so the gates of you know what do not in the end prevail. This is why in spite of how hard we try, everyone does not believe exactly the same. Do you see how circular the arguments are? But praise God we have unity in Jesus Lord.

:sad_yes: It is sad more of us can not understand how much we do think alike and see that unity and celebration instead of division.

We only have for the CC Church’s word that she has never strayed on anything ever, or let Jesus down, and that Jesus has not ordained others through the Holy Spirit so the gates of you know what do not in the end prevail. This is why in spite of how hard we try, everyone does not believe exactly the same. Do you see how circular the arguments are? But praise God we have unity in Jesus Lord.

because it is impossible for Jesus to teach His Church one thing and another give a different interpretation. dont put God in the middle of confusion. it is more like man made theology that causes confusion and not God. any way i still say, you are not a Catholic. you speak like a protestant because that is what you are. you can fool others but not me.

What? GOD gave us each a brain.

It is up to each individual to search for the truth. You look for the fruits, check with scripture- is that minister preaching and living the Gospel of Jesus?

If one person says my church is the only way we have the secrets that no one else has, we have the only answer or all the answers - run!
