Note: A church should be reverent in sight, smell, and sound. This does not necessairily preclude modern architecture or art form. Art Deco, for example, can produce wonderful churches, and it comes several hundred years after the styles you mention

I would like for there to be a vindication of contemporary architecture such that a new kind of contemporary, very respectful of the past, will emerge. See “other modern” series at New Liturgical Movement. I know we are more capable than the disgusting spaceship/blockish horrors.
 
As far as church architecture / ad orientem / etc goes…I would suggest you look up the National Shrine of the Little Flower near Detroit. Art Deco, with a circular (and bi-level) design, built decades before VII, but nobody can accuse it of being irreverent.

Even if the indult to receive in the hand is rescinded you would refuse to receive on the tongue? Remember that receiving on the tongue is the universal norm even in the Ordinary Form and receiving in the hand could be rescinded with the stroke of the pen.

I have what most people seem to consider a “bad” translation of the bible. But I read it everyday and I don’t think I’m getting anything less out of it compared to someone with a “proper” bible, whatever that is.

I know the Church has the fullness of truth, but every other religion claims the same thing. It’s not like the baptists are suddenly going to go, “Oh, the Catholic church is right? Well, good thing they finally told us!”

Yes.

Stop all this nonsense about whether the tabernacle is in the right place or if the alter should be in the center or which side the pulpit is on. Does it matter which why the priest faces? Does it matter which language is spoken? Does it matter what songs are sung? Does it matter what the church looks like? Maybe I would feel different if I had grown up in the 50’s or something, but I didn’t. All that matters to me, the ONLY thing that matters to me, is that when I go up for Communion, I am receiving the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus. Has that changed at all since Vatican 2? Again, I’m no expert, but as far as I know it hasn’t.

To me, that is what matters. Everything is is just decoration. 🙂
