But it’s a dry heat right?
Yeah, actually it feels go on the old bones, and everyone who can’t handle it, leaves town this time of year, so my community becomes a nice place again for a few months. 👴 🚬

That’s the best part of summer.

A cool breeze, flowers, a hammock to lie in and enjoy the cool breeze. 😁

Yes…I still enjoy a cup of hot, green tea after lunch on my patio…

Hello! Yes it is…pic to follow…in am hour I shall ice it with cream cheese icing!

Here it is…the chocolate I made an hour ago…waiting for it to cool off so I can ice it with cream cheese icing…it is a little snack cake… 😬

You know what goes good with that cake?

Some vanilla ice cream.

I’m not allowed baked goods during the weekdays.

Part of my New Year’s resolution.

It feels gloomy and about to rain here.

I prefer cool, overcast weather to hot sunny weather.

I’m not a big “cold weather” person, but my favourite weather is, ironically, cold and rainy. Snow and ice, on the other hand, I’d rather have triple digit weather.

Like you I prefer cold and rainy but I’d rather have snow and subzero temperatures than triple digits anytime.

That being said, I don’t like ice.

Anybody’s been to Pueblo Colorado? How’s it like?

Just got an email from a recruiter about a job opportunity in Pueblo.

I reckon it’s different from Buffalo, NY.

Uh, yeah, I would think so! 🙂

@Pattylt, what’s it like in Pueblo? Any ideas?

Pueblo is in southern Colorado and while my husbands grandfather was born there, I really don’t know much about it.

I do know that it has more poverty than Colorado is noted for… we are a pretty prosperous state…but that doesn’t really mean much. If I want to know what an area looks like, I go to Google Maps, zoom way in, drop a pin and then do street view to kind of wander around neighborhoods and downtown.

I’m sure they have a web page, too. Sorry, we just don’t go that far south. Northern Colorado rarely goes south of Denver and southern Colorado rarely goes north of Denver. Let me talk to a friend, she used to live in southern Colorado and probably knows more about Pueblo than I do!

Called my friend and she only had a few minutes to talk…
She really likes Pueblo. The city is located on the prairie but the mountains are nearby. Mid city size, she didn’t know the numbers and has some interesting points of interest…museaums, art, etc. She said the people are pretty much like most of Colorado, friendly! I can second that I found Coloradoans friendly, too.

@Sarcelle, I definitely would check it out. I don’t know what the cost of living is in Buffalo and I don’t know specifically about Pueblo. Colorado tends to be higher than many western states but lower than California, Chicago, NYC. Then there are variations city to city. My city is lower priced…especially housing… than some other cities and Denver but higher than small town Colorado. Look at housing for sale in various areas or rental services to see what the various prices are for housing. Food and gas are average to the US. Taxes may be less than NY? We do have a state tax. Its not great but its not bad… we came from Wyoming where there was no state tax! Check it out!

Ooh, Wyoming? I didn’t know that, @Pattylt. We are currently watching Longmire on Netflix and I am constantly remarking what a beautiful place it is.
