’m just factually recounting what happened.
Get angry and do not be wrong - Psalm 9 or such.
You are entitled to get angry, do not get it back. You are NOT a clericalist Tis, if even you gets angry at what happens here then maybe something is way off.
I am angry because priests MOST OF THE TIMES do not believe in virtual interaction, because their charisma asks for physical encounter. Also they don’t believe much is virtual networks. So those who do it anyway it is because they ARE MEEK, and they saw people like it this way and so they try to comply.
There are ways to.disagree without offending. I have read some threads with Don Rugero where I saw he was being disagreed WITH OFFENSE. This is an elderly priest who bothers with the internet. He is not someone who owns blogs or youtube channels. I am by nature a rebel but I respect the effort of those who are not to be heard.

A few. I don’t see them as much these days, which is a pity, because many of them were very helpful in theological discussions.

Yeah, I’m not saying it’s wrong to ever disagree with the priest, but the things on which people often disagree are clearly things that the priest knows a lot about, has studied, has personal experience with, and on the other side we have some guy sitting in a basement who read a book from the time of Pope Pius V and decided the priest is wrong. Give me a break.

To the naysayers, the username “Rabbi” is rather revealing.

As usual, Contrary Answers Forums upholds its rep.

As for your question. There are likely many Catholic clergy and religious here and most don’t identify. A few may do so in passing. For example, if you read through old threads you’ll find extensive discussion of where to get one’s education for training as a Deacon.

I almost think it is better if clergy or religious don’t identify…sometimes. Others may disagree. Isn’t the point here to discuss religious things where the answer isn’t obvious. Mentioning your clerical status may not always be helpful in these cases.

@edward_george1 plays a very good role here, and I appreciate his comments. However, I always assumed he works with CAF on some level. He seems to play a different role than a priest or Deacon who may randomly sign on to learn something or get some piece of info out to people anonymously.

I don’t work for Catholic Answers or the forum in any official or paid capacity. I do occasionally offer my advice to the moderators about dealing with certain matters, most especially handling scrupulous posters, matters of conscience, and mental health issues.

Where’d you get the idea that I work with them?

Jack can I also say I am studying Theology through a Catholic Institute. We have religious and laity and professed atheists in the same courses. There is a Priest who is also a Vicar-General in one class, quite a few Seminarians in another. We have internal forums where we all sign on and discuss Theology , but also random topics.

Don Ruggero got suspended for complaining about the suspension of a poster (nunsuch? ) who was a nun with a PhD and had someone with little knowledge arguing with her over a point she clearly had great expertise in. She got suspended. Don Ruggero complained about her suspension, then he got suspended. He’s not really been back since. A sad loss.
Must have been some faithless person/people who flagged/caused the suspension. I cannot imagine a Catholic doing it.

Don Ruggero would have been suspended by the moderators for violating the rules. I’m not sure any poster would have had to flag it. As for nunsuch, well that was unfortunate. If I remember the thread in question correctly she was drawn out by a very immature poster who was being very insulting. I think they both ended up suspended.

And that is the danger of getting tangled up in endless debating with posters who are only looking to provoke one to anger. Been there, done that. Not doing it again.

It’s great reading posts and communicating with fellow lay Catholics on what is the best Catholic forum on the Internet. It’s even more special when members of the Clergy or other Religious post here. I know of Father edward_george1 and at least one Deacon (sorry I forget his handle) who post here. Who are other bishops, priests, deacons, seminarians, brothers or sisters who post here?
Thanks
I believe that the Deacon you are referencing is Diaconia. His last post was June 9th. I am also a Deacon, I tend to post on more causal topics.

Yes but my recalling is that he left by his own choice because in certain arguments he was literally shown no respect.
Sadly, Father Sebastian was suspended permanently/banned. This new flagging people gives too much retaliatory power to the masses. There are several long-time posters who have been banned who I miss very much.
There used to be a Don here too, who was retired, he was also being floored by some people because they didn’t find his responses were orthodox enough by some other “specialists”. And he was one of the theologians who said he participated at the official discussions with the Anglicans. But some people just know bettah!
Yes, Don Ruggero. Another priest driven off this forum.

Yes I think that was the board handle. He sometimes went by Deacon and a first name which I also don’t remember. I remember a few people debating (or perhaps baiting) him on the the subject of degrees of holy orders as it relates to the call by some for women deacons. I felt at least one of the those debating or baiting the Deacon was being disrespectful.

Isn’t that crazy!?!? One of the founding members of the Institute of Catholic Culture, faculty member at St. Patrick’s Seminary, an adjunct lecturer in Sacred Scripture for the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College and the academic director for the deacon program in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tulsa, OK.

ZP

The Rules are the same, respect for everyone and for posts, religions and ideas. Its much smaller though. People get shut down pretty fast if they are responding in a disrespectful way.

I guess this forum has the smoke of satan on it, in the scepticism of some to certain comments.
Skepticism in internet comments is the mark of the devil now? 🙃 Some argue that blind belief in the internet is, now this. 🙂🙃 Conspirators, make up your mind!
God bless
