I am just trying to see how much my fellow Catholics drink on a daily and weekly basis. Thanks and God Bless.
Its good that you have days off to give your liver a break. If its not every day you are not an alcoholic, but these habits can be difficult to give up.It is not every night but 4 or 5 times a week.
This statement is false. There are many alcoholics who drink only on weekends, or drink several days/nights a week but not every day.Its good that you have days off to give your liver a break. If its not every day you are not an alcoholic, but these habits can be difficult to give up.
I used to drink every day through my late teens and 20s. All those hangovers and grogginess,… I look back and think, I must have been mad to do it.
I now have a beer every other day, which works well for me. cheers
If you are concerned about your own drinking, a survey of others isn’t going to do you a bit of good.I am just trying to see how much my fellow Catholics drink on a daily and weekly basis. Thanks and God Bless.
Did the OP SAY they were concerned about their own drinking? If you are concerned about your own drinking, a survey of others isn’t going to do you a bit of good.

Most other people who don’t have a problem with alcohol don’t worry about how much anyone else drinks. Could be a relative or friend of an alcoholic, too.Did the OP SAY they were concerned about their own drinking?
Or one can just be curious. The question has come up in conversations with friends, didn’t seem out of the ordinary to me at the time. Most other people who don’t have a problem with alcohol don’t worry about how much anyone else drinks. Could be a relative or friend of an alcoholic, too.
Normal drinking means you can stop after 1 or 2. The people you know who drink quite a bit too often and too much may well be alcoholics. If their drinking bothers you, try Al-Anon. You can’t stop them from drinking but you can take care of yourself. Alcoholics can cause a lot of destruction in their lives which affects many other people. Al-Anon can help the friends and families of alcoholics.I was just wondering what most parents or everyday people do. I know some that don’t drink at all, and some that drink quite a bit too often and too much. I guess normal to one, may not be normal to another.
Drinking every day and hangovers do not necessarily go together. As a PP stated, in many cultures - traditionally Catholic cultures - people drink every day, but it is associated with a meal, not just drinking to drink. So if someone says they have a glass or wine or 2 or a beer with dinner, that is far different from popping a cold one as soon as you get home from work. Its good that you have days off to give your liver a break. If its not every day you are not an alcoholic, but these habits can be difficult to give up.
