How much effort do you put into what you wear to Mass?

Business casual, but this is how I normally dress. I don’t own jeans, don’t wear shorts unless I’m doing housework or sports, don’t wear sport shoes unless I’m exercising, etc. The only thing I add for Mass is a headcovering (hat for OF, mantilla for EF).

Besides the headcoverings, I don’t have a wardrobe specifically for Mass.

The only clothes I have that are dressier than business casual are a few floor-length evening gowns and my wedding dress 😀

Alb and cincture. I almost always serve as an altar boy. ❤️

I am dealing with cancer right now so I understand. I sit for most of the Mass now also. I also wear loose comfortable clothing

Clothes…shoes the usual things one is required to wear when leaving the house… I normally try to dress up but as we usually go to a Saturday night service there have been times I’ve gone to mass in jeans and a nice top… Although I always try to look my best all the time anyway

I go to mass every day so no I dont dress up every day. I do wear clean clothes that are modest but I choose warm above all, so mostly loads of jerseys and jeans. Our church is a beautiful old Victorian church and freezing all year around, especially for someone like me who really feels the cold. On Sundays and Holy days I try to wear a nice blouse but often in the winter it is covered up by loads of jerseys/fleeces. I would love to wear skirts or dresses but it is so cold most of the year that that is not possible, however, if it is warm enough then that is my choice. I will endeavour to wear a woollen skirt tonight as I have a role carrying the canopy. I make an extra effort for special occasions.

Usually a cassock. It’s convenient. I just throw it on over shorts and a t-shirt.

Same for me, plus the older and “softer” my body get the more self conscious I am in pants!😉 I always try to look nice for Mass, but often that means dressy jeans and I wonder if that’s ok.

Thank you Camehome4john6 that’s very kind of you. I am a wife of 23 years and a mom of 3 teens so very grateful to God for the healing I received and all the wonderful medical care. I was an apparently fit and healthy person and then suddenly developed back pain and spent last summer on bedrest. My chemo was very successful, praise God!

99% chance of yes. I leave the 1% for the rare parishes where people customarily dress fancier than jeans, but I admit that I’ve never attended Mass in such a parish. Even at the ICRSS chapel, some people wear jeans to Mass and nobody blinks.

I enjoy dressing up. That means a suit and tie, with occasionally an odd vest or so. While I would personally love to see everyone put effort into their presentation, I fully acknowledge that is not and should not be a priority.

Easter and Christmas, I will normally dress up but I live in FL and my parish is on the beach so shorts or jeans and my council shirt is the normal.

It’s normally hard to tell what most people are wearing at my parish…whatever they’re wearing is usually covered over with a jacket. 🥶 🌬️ 🌧️ 🌧️ 🌧️
