How much effort do you put into what you wear to Mass?

I was dressier for church before I started teaching Religious Ed to kindergarten and first grade kids. Now it is usually nice pants or a reely long full skirt so that I can move.

Pro tip: don’t wear elastic waist skirts around small children.

Sunday or Holy Day: slacks, dress shirt tucked in, dress shoes

Daily Mass: chinos, polo or oxford shirt, boat shoes. If I’m going straight from work, usually for confession, I’ll be in a T-shirt sneakers and shorts if it’s really hot outside (I live in Texas).

Do you dress up, have “church clothes” or a personal dress code?
Lol not much, I’ve got kids. I make sure we’re all dressed modestly (usually jeans & a blouse) & we always strive to arrive on time - my husband is really good at getting us there on-time!
My standards for the kids is simple - non-denim pants and collared shirts for the boys and dress or skirt and top for the girls. Except for the one girl who hates to wear skirts. She wears dress pants and whatever we can both agree on on the top. But not a t-shirt with lettering. I usually wear I skirt and top and my husband wears khakis and polo shirts or button-down shirt. And no stains or rips for everybody, unless I happen to miss something and don’t see it until we get to church.😂

This is what’s outside our little parish

Cat hair flies.
I get that part . . . it’s how it navigates through an eighth inch gap at the hanger hole, travels three feet down the front of the jacket which is clinging to the bag, and disperses itself, before then going inside the jacket to get the pants!

Or does the hair just pass through the bag in an osmotic process?
Perhaps the dry cleaning isn’t getting the cat hair off?
Nah, that’s not it. I can send in a suit without it, it comes back without it, and when I take the wrapper off, there’s the hair . . .

I’m currently solving this problem by not going to court very often

That sounds suspiciously like the voice of experience . . 😱

Your kids haven’t discovered the art of rips between the car and the pew? 😖

It can often be a problem around cats too, but we usually don’t see those in church. (Dogs sometimes, we have service dogs in training at the parish.)

Nothing more than usual…
I can enven be messy, with wet hairs, or entangled hairs.
Long skirts (with a preference with black), and usually a scarf to carry the baby. I try to wear the most beautiful top I have. If we are in summer, I put awarness to have a top that don’t discover to much.
I am carefull to wear an underwear inside my top than cover my belly (breasteeding).

I put clothes as clean as possible.

So, I take a little more effort to have decent clothes than usual.

Same thing happened to me…except it was red shirt and khakis at Target.

When I go on a Saturday night I wear jeans and a nice shirt. When I go on Sunday I wear business casual (what I would wear to work). I don’t get to daily mass unless on vacation and then it would probably also be jeans and a nice shirt.

Not sure Jesus cares what we are wearing but rather that we are there.🤷‍♀️ Although he probably does appreciate it when we are fully clothed.

Oh, I do try to remember to wear red on Palm Sunday and Pentecost. If I had purple in my wardrobe I’d do the same during advent 😉

On Sundays I tend to dress a little nicer than usual. I have a preference for long skirts or maxi dresses, but I have worn pants as well. I’m always sure to wear a cardigan/shawl for modesty.

During the week I’m almost always in jeans and a top as I run errand and drop off/pick up kids, so if I go to daily mass, I’m usually still wearing that.

Last time I ended up grabbing the nearest clean shirt after realizing I had oven grease all over myself.

Depending on the time of the year, I dress accordingly.
But usually, a dress shirt and a nice pair of slacks during the warm time of the year.
Sweaters and slacks when it gets colder.
A suit on special occasions like Christmas and Easter.

Well, at least it came out better than red shirts on Star Trek 😱🤣

I’ve been walking though casinos at times to get to events, in a good suit, french cuffs, etc., and been assumed be a manager due to also having a brass name tag . . . .

hawk, who also used to needle his wife when she wore a khaki skirt and red top . . .

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is a council shirt?

Dress shirt, slacks and a sports coat. Usually will wear a tie or bow tie. I’m a PE teacher so I’m usually in workout clothes so Sundays are my opportunity to dress up some 😂

ZP

I’m assuming it’s the shirt that most KofC councils and assemblies have.

It’s what I’m usually wearing with black jeans under my Sticharion at Divine Liturgy . . .
