How much effort do you put into what you wear to Mass?

I am a capsule wardrobe person, so, I wear the same things every day - work, Mass, errands - simply selecting from 4 pair of pants and a few tops and a single pair of shoes then I accessorize. I did buy a new scarf and new “kimono” duster to wear for Easter.

It varies, but it’s usually something that I would feel comfortable wearing on a business casual day at work.

I have church clothes:

Grey Mantilla, long pastel pink dress, white button up shirt, beige cardigan, sturdy shoes with minimal heel. Hair in a bun with no makeup but chapstick.

I wear a wooden cross usually, but during high holy days I switch it out for sterling silver.

Never any jewelry, ribbons, or anything flashy.

I sometimes switch out the cardigan to pale sky blue.

not much effort… I usually wear sweat pants and a tshirt
That’s…real casual.

I typically wear jeans/khakis and a collared shirt…so like a polo or just a casual button down shirt. Not fancy, but nicer than what I’d cut the lawn in.

🤔 I always took you for a white helmet and matching armor kind of guy…

Shouldn’t you be at your post?

I’m very casual, and usually I just grab something. I don’t pay much attention to what I’m wearing. About a year ago this was very embarrassing at mass. I wore very dark pants and a black short sleeve shirt. People stared at me throughout the entire mass (looking for the collar) and while I was entering and leaving the mass. I pay more attention to what I wear for mass now. 🤔

I try to dress up a bit, though my parish is very laid back in dress, generally. It’s very “come-as-you-are.” But since I don’t leave the house very often (SAHM to a rowdy toddler), I tend to enjoy swapping out my sweatpants for nicer clothes for Mass. It just feels appropriate for me. I usually wear a floral dress of some sort, knee-length or longer, and a cardigan with flats. Sometimes I opt for a maxi skirt with a v-neck/simple blouse, and a sweater if I need one. I wear a mantilla, and that’s another reason I like to dress up a bit - I feel like I look kind of funny in jeans or more casual clothes with my long black mantilla!

Do you dress up, have “church clothes” or a personal dress code?
Lol not much, I’ve got kids. I make sure we’re all dressed modestly (usually jeans & a blouse) & we always strive to arrive on time - my husband is really good at getting us there on-time!

Usually a cassock. It’s convenient. I just throw it on over shorts and a t-shirt.
🙂

I usually wear my best non-work clothes, which is generally black denim jeans and either a western shirt or KofC shirt, and reptile boots.

While I have plenty of suits, they feel like work clothes (which they are), and not my “best”.

That, and the boots are all that show under the Sticharion, anyway.

US Marine Corps drill instructors actually get an extra stipend for their uniforms for this reason.

They change multiple times a day, so a never to show a spec or sweat . . .
Uh oh. My outfits always haveat least a little cat hair.
I do want to know how they get hair on my suits while they’re still in the dry cleaning bags . . .

All cats have an extension into the 4th dimension so they can get in, deposit some hair (just to keep you in your place) and get back out without leaving their curled up sleeping pose.

At the very least dress pants, dress shoes and a button down long sleeve shirt. I usually wear a shirt and tie or suit. I was born in the wrong era. I would love to live in the time when people wore their Sunday best to church and extravagant events, like flying 😎

I don’t have church clothes and usually wear what I wear for work. Sundays usually a skirt or dress, weekdays sometimes pants if that’s what I wore to work that day.

Shorts would be against our parish dress code, because we are asked to have our knees covered.

Nothing fancy. I should but I don’t. I figure He sees me there when I would rather be in bed cos I’m a lazy sinner and He doesn’t mind. No seriously the snooze button is my friend I make sure clothes are clean and presentable but believe me I’ve worn a hoodie/ hat because it was too late for a shower and my hair is a state. Whatever you wear you’re still there. Oh that’s catchy ! I once used dry shampoo and had a white streak like lily Munster

Yeah… I must admit there are some ladies with some immodest skirts here /very tight clothes. I try not to judge cos here’s me with my dry shampoo /hoodie but yeah hey we all showed up. I’ll get 20 traditional folk flaming me now .

I’m the same - I’m usually dressier because I just tend to be wearing dressier clothes for anything that’s not dirty. Although I flex om the shoes a bit because 95% of women’s dress shoes hurt my feet.
