Perhaps my experience had made me cynical. I have a difficult time buying the whole giving people the gospel or even the Divine Catholic truth or the promise of an afterlife. I don’t know someone can know for certain their way is right. There are a variety of opinions in the world. As for the Divine truth, why does it matter of others choose not to adhere to it? I’ve been evangelized by all kinds to the point it sounds if I don’t do things their way I’m headed to hell. Hell means nothing to me. Jehovah witness, Mormons, non-denominational christian and apparently according to Islam I’m headed there too. Everyone thinks their religion is true and right. Trust me Protestants have feared for my salvation. Do these people actually care or do they want to increase their number? Cynical of those who try to save my soul

I believe they care that they or their group gets the most people “into heaven” because it validates their belief. As you can tell I am very cynical. Also, I believe that a person has to be ready to be open to a change. St. Augustine spent many years wasting his life, but after his mother prayed for him for years he was ready. I believe my religion is true and I still find other religions have value for others. I do not know if this will help you.

Outside of my family and closest friends, I highly doubt those door to door evangelist care about my soul. I think they want more numbers. Sometimes I think it is about being right or feeling superior. Or imposing

If you do not know how to love right, well of course you’re going to be cynical.

What do you mean? You don’t think evangelist care more about their numbers than saving others.

I’m wondering how many hells I’ll be condemned to
There is only one Hell, one Heaven, and one Truth.

It doesn’t matter how many other people try to tell you that they alone have the answers.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

And He gave us the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

Well, let’s look at it this way.

There’s a terminal disease spreading across Earth, and you have the cure/immunization. Will you just give it to family and friends, or will you try to give it to everyone you meet?

Well of course there are some evangelists who care for money and prestige more than saving others. There will always be rotten apples. But how can you explain the saints’ fervor to evangelize the world, starting with St. Paul’s travels across the known world of the Roman Empire?

Anyways, again, if you really know how to love right, if you really have ever truly loved rightly, then you wouldn’t even be asking how much we should care about heaven or another’s soul. You’d rather be asking how can you be more effective in evangelizing.

Hmm…trying to give me their Bible. Describing the Catholic Church as the Antichrist. Explaining to me that I’m misguided or ignorant. Certainly sounds like someone who believes their way is superior and perhaps right. Not someone who sees me as an equal

I don’t feel that way about the gospel unfortunately. I don’t believe only Catholics will earn salvation nor do I think those around me are necessarily headed to hell.

Well, giving them the cure/ immunization to the disease can’t hurt, right?

I don’t believe Christianity is the cure to all troubles. To an extent I do. To another extent I don’t. There has been enough hatm done by people promoting their religion as the right one

I never said that. And, it’s not. But, you never answered my original question, concerning the disease and the cure

Additionally, in response to
Evangelization is not my calling.
If you’re Catholic, as your bio says, it is. That’s a simple fact.
“Go out, therefore, making disciples of all nations.”

Evangelization is not my calling.
Maybe not yet.😉❤️

Come Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit
and they shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit,
did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
grant that by the same Holy Spirit
we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations,
Through Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

I think you’d have to be there to understand why I believe some people may feel superior. Not all. There are plenty of kind evangelists. I think it is imposing and slightly disrespectful to tell me I’m ignorant, my church is the Antichrist, I’ve been brainwashed. However kind their intentions are, it’s rude.

Or knocking at my door after I explained I’m no longer interested in what they have to say. I’m used to be super open to hearing all about different religions, I’m tired of hearing negative stuff from others about the Catholic Church.

I may not be the best Catholic but gees.

Who should I evangelize to? If I’m not 100% convinced of my religion being correct, who am I convince another is? I don’t believe in evangelism. I plan to raise my family Catholic. Besides, I really don’t want to evangelize.

Right now? Yourself. Roll up your sleeves and learn about the areas of Catholicism you think are bothering you so you can see its truth and beauty and be on fire with love for the Church. Maybe go on a retreat? It will be doing your future kids a favor.

Evangelization isn’t all door knocking. It is witnessing to the people God puts in your path. Sometimes just by your life.

Again with who is right…

Jump, you really don’t seem to want to follow the Catholic faith, and you are disparaging others that come to your door by saying they are not right. Why is it that you think only you are right, yet you keep asking so many of the same questions over and over?
