The Catholic Church is a Bible believing Church, after all it was the Church that defined the canon.

My Question is to Frodo and all others concerned. How Does a new believer (or old believer) find this Bible Believing Church and know that it has the True Interpretaion and Is teaching in Spirit and Truth especially if you are a new Christian and donât know the Bible well. I also know that there are seasoned Christians here who are very well versed in the Bible and would like to know how they found their particular Church. Now that you are on your way to heaven, you should attend a bible believing church and follow in baptism.
Jesus included works with salvation - or doesnât your Bible have Matthew 25 in it?By including works into salvation, they preach another gospel. The bible clearly says that it is without works, yet they ignore those plain, overwheming verses and focus on a very select few that are really saying that if you have real faith, you will have works. The evidence is overwheming scripturally that it is without works of righeousness.
Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
The washing in this verse comes from the Lord inside the man, not outside the man.
Whenever some people hear the word âworks,â they automatically interpret it as âsalvation by works.â So when a Catholic discusses how works are involved in salvation, the immediate reply is, âWe cannot earn our salvation by works!â Which is true, and Catholics agree. They just donât hear what we are saying about the role of works because all they hear is the word âworksâ and they stop listening.Catholics do NOT NOT NOT believe that their own works apart from God can do diddly-squat. Any and every good work (not works of the law) that we do is God working through us.
Isnât it funny how all the people who quote Ephesians 2:8-9 seem to conveniently forget that St Paul also wrote Ephesians 2:10.Whenever some people hear the word âworks,â they automatically interpret it as âsalvation by works.â So when a Catholic discusses how works are involved in salvation, the immediate reply is, âWe cannot earn our salvation by works!â Which is true, and Catholics agree. They just donât hear what we are saying about the role of works because all they hear is the word âworksâ and they stop listening.
Read eph 4:7-16Hi, I just glanced at this thread and I apologize in advance if the point Iâm making has already been made.
Why do evangelicals like Joel Osteen always tell us that if we donât say this prayer, we wonât be saved? If we do pray this prayer, we are saved but then they tell us that we need to attend a bible-believing church. Well, correct me if Iâm wrong, but if weâre saved, why do I need to go to church? Whatâs the point?
[7] But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christâs gift.Read eph 4:7-16
I donât see exactly where that answers the question of if weâre already saved (and assured of heaven), then why bother go to church, though.Read eph 4:7-16
If you have the Holy Spirit in you, you have gifts of the HS.Thanks for the text ChurchMilitant.

Where does the Bible state the term âfaith aloneâ?
Really? Then you are not a Pentecostal? Just curious. If you have the Holy Spirit in you, you have gifts of the HS.
Those gifts are for the edification of the body of Christ.
Each person has gifts. If you are not in a church, that body is is missing out on your unique gifts. And you are missing out on benefitting from anothers gifts.
There are also other reasons to be in a church such as growing in maturity in the faith and accountability.
No.Really? Then you are not a Pentecostal? Just curious.![]()
Thought so, since they generally teach that whole âmust be baptized with the Holy Spiritâ to have the gifts thing, right?

Question: Many that I have talked to who take your position have told me that the gifts of the Holy Spirit ended with the death of St. John, the last apostle.
Do you also hold that belief as well?
Ok, I just wondered, based on some folks that I have met. Thanks!Gifts are still around
My point exactlyâŚif we CHOOSE to go to hell, then God isnât judging us, we are judging ourselvesâŚso the Bible is contradicting itself either way.Someone in hell goes to hell because they choose it. No one on this earth is Forced to go to hell.
