How to Handle Neighbors Dogs

They said that if the dog came into my yard, that was different charge than if it was on the street. I think they called it “failure to confine an aggressive dog” or something like that.
So much red tape surrounding your situation. And, so many spider threads within this one.

Try this one on for size: You are the owner of the fence (right?), what about adding low-voltage electrical current to the fence? A It’s going to cost, but what is the alternative? A couple of hits as these pits try to climb, they’ll learn very quickly to stay away. Where at 465 on this already. Hope I didn’t repeats someone else!

I doubt it. Their kid may have went to the hospital but I’m willing to get the records don’t say, “Child is under the influence of second-hand marajuana.” If it did, they wouldn’t have been allowed to take him home! They wouldn’t believe their nonsense story either!

Wait a second. How old is this kid? Was he over the age of ten? “Mom, I swear! I didn’t smoke it! The neighbor’s second-hand smoke wafted over the fence and hit me in the frontal lobe!”

Don’t really want to risk electrocuting my kids. And I think it’s technically a shared fence.

Yes, of course! I was just thinking out of the box here, thinking that your children stay far away from the fence anyway. To learn that it is a shared fence, you have more to worry about, since you cannot do anything with it without the neighbors OK. Now it gets more convoluted. A shared fence is directly on the property border line. If you own the fence, normally city ordinances make you place the fence within a foot or so from the line on the owners property. Time to find out who really owns this thing.

Y’know, if that were possible, about a third of my highschool would have wound up in the hospital. Come to think of it, that would explain a lot.

Smoke triggers asthma attacks here yes. The cause of asthma as a chronic disease is a different matter. Cigarette smoke is also bad for asthma. Bushfire smoke is a bit deadly for asthma.

We have also had mass asthma episodes due to a weather pattern that caused storms. I think 9 died from the most recent episode.
We get asthma warnings now.

Fire pits aren’t that common here yet. We have bbq and your typical campfires. In built up areas, smoke from chimneys is an asthma scourge.

We are much tougher on this issue. I can shoot any dog annoying my livestock. Any dog that’s attacked, is seized . What happens to the dog from there depends on several factors. Either destroyed, or declared a dangerous dog with restrictions.

In my state pit bulls are banned. Those still alive here must live in escape proof dog runs and have all sorts of laws to live up to.

In 15 years there won’t be any pit bulls left here.

However , the American Staffordshire terrier is a pit bull, a registered purebred with its kennel club With a new and shiny name. So the issue won’t go away

This would be front page news on serious news outlets, the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, TIME and Newsweek. Instead, it is a story one might read in the Enquirer, NY Post, Alex Jones’ blog, etc.

I’m guessing that the person who told this story was either passing on an urban myth or they like the reaction when they tell this story. I’d even wager someone did go to the ER claiming a high from the smoke coming into the window only to be told it was an irritant or asthma.

But, maybe you could get the dogs to calm down with this super weed!!

Here the staffy and the kelpies are filling up shelters. Pit bulls are usually destroyed.

That’s the problem I see with such laws. I’m not a dog judge, but I suspect that none of my neighbor’s dogs would meet all of the qualifications of a “pit bull”. The biggest one is probably the closest. The one that actually jumped the fence looks like it could be mixed with a dog with shorter stature like a boxer or a bulldog. The third one has pit bull shaped shoulders and head but longer fur.

My sis was recently walking her dog, a little rat terrier dog on leash. A woman was walking her daughters rottie . You can guess what happened. That dog dragged the woman across the road and attacked my sisters dog, and then bit her.

My neighbours water dogs have no respect for the invisible electric fence. They would run through the visible hot wired fence too I bet

Well we don’t water grass in summer. As far as trees go who knows. Even with closed doors and windows, that damn smoke still gets in.
