I was just talking to someone from Michigan today. He told me is used to the nasty weather we’re having here. I’m not sure you can find somewhere warm in the mainland US right now.
44 degrees and mostly sunny. We have been treated to a number of gorgeous fall days. Frost on the rooftops, lawns, cars in the morning but not cold in any serious way. I posted this long brooding lament about the rain and clouds a week or so during a particularly dreary rainy Saturday I think it was and then this happened. As an amendment I should say it has been quite wonderful the last week or so.
Yes, we do have black frost on the city streets until well into the day. I walk and drive very carefully. You can see it glitter in the sun or streetlights. Slippery. People finally are getting their Christmas lights up which makes evening walking quite fun. Clear nights mean stars.
I’m in one of the lucky spots in Canada where it’s almost (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.). Well, not really but at least it’s not (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.) (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.).
49F and sunny. And yes, when I saw the sun shining, I did actually have one of those “What is that?” moments. It’s been so long since we’ve had sunshine that I forgot what it looked like.
You must have central heating. We still rely on space heaters which don’t help when the wind is blowing and you can’t put anything over the AC vents because you sprained your ankle. Otherwise, it’d be a LOT warmer where I’m sitting.
Today the temperature is dropping. We were 46 when I woke up. We’re 43 now and dropping all day. Wind is blowing. And i have to shop. Not likin’ the wind.
We get in the triple-digit temperatures here sometimes, but not this time of year because it’s winter here, actually it’s late Autumn it’s almost winter, and if it’s this kind of weather at this time of year, then I imagine winter is going to be pretty brutal
