Hello again,
Thank you for responding, but once again, I am chaste and am not using this at all for promiscuity.
No I don’t know who my husband is, but I get to pick who I am with-don’t I?

Ok, the vaccine I got does not directly prevent against the cancer, just the HPv which causes cancer…
I hope you marry a virgin who has not had any sexual encounters because HPV can be passed to a guy even if he doesn’t have sex. Also, men don’t get tested for HPV, only women do through a pap smear. I think it is unwise to stop these vaccines, it’s an unnecessary risk.

HI!

I am a Guy and will probably get booed out this thread… I unlike most of this world am waiting for sex till i am married. This HPV or Gardisil Vac… thingy is Poop. It is a Direct result of The world of Humans mocking and destroying the grand and beautiful world of Sex that God created for Husband and Wife. My sister, If you are waiting to give your precious gift to your Husband, and i Commend you for doing so cause it is an extremely precious Gift and unfortunatly in this day and age, it is hard to find a Girl who has not had sex, then don’t continue and do not take it there is no need. If you are obeying God and honoring him, then he will honor you. He states that in our word and we as his believers take him at his word.

Some might now attack me for being anit medical or whatever. I don’t care, My fiance right now has had 2 of the three shots, which were done about 2 years ago, Only because her docter said to, She was not sexually active and still isn’t, and we are waiting till we are married, and she is still facing the side effects of this sin caused vac. She has daily bouts with skin irritation like severe allergic reaction to a bug bite. She gets scabs and sores all over her skin because of this vac. Her scalp is in a constant state of stinging and itching. it has effected her immune system and she gets sick very easily.

If you are in a truly loving relationship and your man has the balls to admit to you that he is not a virgin then consider it but do so knowing that it is dangerous to mess with what God gave us. Stay a virgin till that man comes and blesses you with that precious gift and honor God ABOVE ALL and he will take care of you his daughter.

Your Brother in Christ.

Brother, I’m very sorry that your fiance had a bad reaction to the vaccine, and I certainly wouldn’t call you or her anti-medical for not continuing in her case.

Do you know that any vaccine - be it for polio, flu, tetanus or anything else - is going to cause bad reactions in some of the people who receive it? For that matter so does any sort of medication, even simple aspirin.

Would you suggest because of these reactions that no-one receive any vaccines, of any type at all, or take any medications, even aspirin, then? It doesn’t stand to reason to deny these treatments to everyone simply because they cause reactions in some.

‘He will take care of you’. Does this mean that God will prevent her from being raped if someone were to decide to rape her? Good devout chaste virgins do get raped, you know, and surprisingly frequently.

Or do you think He will prevent her getting HPV if she is raped? Again, these victims get infected at the same rate as other people who have sex (forced against their will or otherwise).

On the other hand, do you expect that God will magically guarantee that whichever man she is intimate with will always be scrupulously faithful AND scrupulously honest about both past and present sexual activity? Because He’s done so for every single virgin who’s ever been married, of course.

Brother, Jesus refused to jump from the roof of the Temple, saying ‘thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God’. Suggesting to someone not to continue, when that person has already had two of the three shots, with no ill effects (unlike in your girlfriend’s case) sounds like a classic example of advising someone to do just that. It’s not anti-medical, it’s just illogical and unscriptural.

You might get hit by a car walking down the Street does that mean we don’t walk… No, but when you say that she should get it just because she might get raped or she might have a man who is not truthful shows a severe lack in trust with God. God specifically states that when we rely on him fully he takes care of us.

No we can not control what evil men do. IF a Girl is raped that is a terrible even and the man is a coward, but id the OP is not active and Following God why does she need it now. She doesnt… therefore why mess with what God gave us?

We must Trust our Father to take care of us Because he says he will, and when we honor him he honors us. He said so himself. So, Op, Honor God above all and he will Honor you, I stand by that and for ever will stand by that.

If that’s the case then Jesus also showed a severe lack of trust with God when He refused to throw Himself off the Temple roof when Satan tempted Him to.

God does indeed fully take care of us. Among other means, He protects our health by giving us the medical knowledge to develop and use vaccines for various diseases. Don’t tempt God by ignoring the ordinary means He uses to help us!

She needs it now because she could be raped now. And because despite her best intentions she could fall into the sin of premarital sex now. Just as Peter, mere hours after declaring that he would follow Jesus even unto death, comitted the grievous sin of denying even knowing Him.

Can you really not see that it is every bit as necessary for her now as it would be after marriage? And that to blithely assume that we’re incapable of sexual sin is naivety of the worst kind, and moreover the very kind of spiritual pride that makes us most vulnerable to attack of the devil?
We must Trust our Father to take care of us Because he says he will, and when we honor him he honors us. He said so himself. So, Op, Honor God above all and he will Honor you, I stand by that and for ever will stand by that.
God promises that we will never sin sexually, never be raped, never fall victim to a deceitful spouse, and above all never catch HPV? That’s news to me - which Bible verses did you get all that from?

Gosh you sound like those people who say, that If some one is Sexually active, let them take the pill.

There have been many side effects reported from taking this vaccine and 3 known vaccine related deaths.
Some side effects reported include paralysis, Bells Palsy, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, and seizures.
This is offered to girls as young as 12- pretty scary.
The risks outweigh the benefit.

Huge differences. Massive ones. Coming from a medical family I am well aware of the moral and other ethical issues.

Pregnancy (the only thing which the pill prevents) is not a disease of any kind, first off. Unlike cervical cancer, which like all preventable disease should be prevented, by vaccination if this is required and available.

Secondly, the HPV vaccine doesn’t interfere with the natural proces of human fertility and reproduction. Unlike contraceptives.

Thirdly, unlike other condemned medical practices such as euthanasia, abortion, IVF and use of embryonic stem cells, the vaccine does not involve killing the unborn or the soon-to-die, nor the artificial creation of embryos that may end up being disposed of. Nor are any of the other objections to these practices relevant in the case of HPV vaccine.

Put simply, HPV vaccine is totally morally neutral, just like any other approved vaccine against any other disease. Yes it has side effects, yes people have died as a result of taking it. The same, or much the same, happens with all medications, vaccines and medical treatments. Especially in the early days of their use.

Like all approved medications, vaccines and medical treatments, the side effects have already been weighed up against the benefits in the approval process. And like them, further study and refinements will continue to be made into the future. It’s how all medications are used - they are refined and developed even after approval.

Yes, the company may have paid to have approval fast tracked - does that mean the research was done differently? It is unlikely to mean any more than that it was begun earlier but was otherwise just the same process.

In view of the fact that the vast majority of young women catch HPV - and a huge number develop cervical cancer as a result each year - the side effects and deaths, which I have no wish to dismiss at all, are nonetheless hugely outweighed by the lives that will be saved.

No your just saying someone might get something because someone Might be raped. you might be struck by a bullet in LA, doesnt mean you dont drive. There is no point to have this stupid vaccine, if your not Screwing around. IT was developed for people who are afraid to deal with the consequences of screwing around. Plain and simple.

This is a poor argument for taking the vaccine.

Seeing that its been estimated that 1 in 6 women have been sexually assaulted, its not quite as far fetched as you think.

People can and do make mistakes. People can be tempted and fall. People can marry someone who did have sex at some prior point in their lives.
Do any of those situations merit suffering with cancer?

I am way past this point in my life, and I have no daughters, so this doesn’t effect me directly, as it doesn’t affect many of those who’ve given their opinions…but here’s mine anyway.

Each woman must decide for herself whether to have this vaccine or not. Protection against disease is a very good thing. If you’ve seen someone die from cervical cancer, you may be a little more tolerant of this idea. There are people who believe the childhood accines are dangerous and don’t want their children immunized against those. I’m old enough to remember kids in grade school who had polio then and post polio syndrome now.

I don’t think TX should be able to require it the way they do polio vaccines, etc, because it’s not communicable by just being around someone who has the virus. There should be some lawsuits there that will allow parents to make that determination.

Taking this vaccine is not akin to indiscriminate sex, or using ABC or anything other than protecting yourself from a virus. Nobody should have to die for making a bad choice. She (or he) needs the chance to repent and get right with God.

If you want to drive in bad neighbourhoods in LA, be my guest. But don’t criticise people who want to take precautions (such as wearing a bullet-proof vest) when they do drive in LA. It’s entirely reasonable to take precautions against risks.

Has anyone else heard that there is a possible connection between Gardasil and Type I (insulin dependent, ‘juvenile’) diabetes?

Cost effectiveness. Sexually active women over 27 who haven’t had the shots are likely to already have HPV, so the shots won’t help, and as you point out, they are somewhat expensive. Thus, the company did no research testing with women over 27.
But the company did do reseaarch testing on 9 year old girls…and older…why 9 year olds? Some people have died either from the research or after the vaccine actually reached the public…
Now…I have a daughter…I will not be taking her to get vaccinated for the HPV virus…after all, I wouldn’t be giving her a condom to carry on her dates to protect her from HPV or other diseases…why would I do that? I would only do that if I didn’t bring her up with any values and expected that she just might not be strong enough…I know we’re all weak and have temptations…
Unlike other commentators here, I believe this vaccine is Definitely a license for promiscuity!!! Giving your child condoms is a license for promiscuity—and the pill—and ALL contraceptives are a license for immorality, for disobeying God’s plan for us…

If there was no such thing as contraception, do you think a person would think twice or three or 4 times about having a premarital/extra-marital affair? OF COURSE!!!

Yes, there’s a chance of rape…yes, there’s a chance a future husband is carrying the virus…so, should I put my daughter on the pill, or give her condoms on every date in direct violation of church teachings, and my own belief, and my own conscience and the beliefs I hope to pass on to my daughter, praying that she learns the Theology of the Body and has a strong prayer life/and calls upon the Holy spirit for strength and wisdom, etc.?

Also, I have heard, don’t know if this is true at all, that the reason they’re pushing this HPV vaccine on very young girls is because it is intended to create infertility—population control…I kind of read this with a grain of salt, but keep it at the back of my mind…then someone in this forum commented that eugenics proponents were/are behind all vaccines…very interesting!!!

If you believe this, what then do you think about the pill and the condom…should all women be taking the birth control pill and should all people walk around with a condom? to protect from pregnancy and STD’s because the temptation was too strong?
I’m not saying we aren’t weak…but prior to the 60’s I’m sure there was way less promiscuity than there is today…why? contraceptives…I know this vaccine isn’t a contraceptive, but it’s protecting agains a small strain of cervical cancer and is being pushed around because “EVERYBODY KNOWS THEY’RE ALL GOING TO DO IT” is the attitude, isn’t it?

For all those that say it is to protect my daughter, there is a cheaper alternative. A good old fashioned chastity belt. 😃

Um, yes and no.

Peope in the 1960’s tended to get married in their late teens or early 20’s whereas today most people don’t get married till their mid to late 20’s. So its hard to compare. Considering that the average age teens begin having sex is 17, it would seem that perhaps its just more tempting when there’s longer to wait.

Considering that 25% sexually active teens aren’t using contraception, I’m not exactly sure contraception is the sole reason they’re sexually active.

People also might drive safer if cars didn’t have seat belts and airbags.
