In saying you aren’t a hurricane victim, you CAN call as such because you called 911 as it began with no oxygen. And because of the hurricane situation, you were unable to get that oxygen, food, and nowww be cut off again because of the hurricane! You’d have to figure the wording. You were in the process of moving in and setting up home WHEN the hurricane hit! You are a victim – it is a miracle you survived without oxygen. And you need assistance now to continue! I just realized that too! I am getting food and trying for enerby assistance. Energy assistance is not answering the phone anymore and tell you to come in. So I am trying other ways. I pray it helps. I didn’t think of me as a victim because of people who lost their entire homes,etc. Then I realized that I am a victim to the hurricane in different ways. Thanks for the reminder PE!

G U I D A N C E
When I meditated on the word GUIDANCE, I kept seeing “dance” at the end
of the word. I remember reading that doing God’s will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn’t flow
with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to
flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing lightly in one direction or another. It’s as if two become
one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and
attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word GUIDANCE. When I saw “G,” I thought of
God, followed by “u” and “i.” “God, “u” and “i” dance.” God, you, and I
dance. This statement is what guidance means to me. As I lowered my head,
I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once
again, I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is that God’s blessings and mercies be upon you
and your family on this day and everyday. May you abide in Him as He abides
in you. Dance together with God, trusting Him to lead and to guide you
through each season of your life.

Catholic Charities and other local groups have followed up on local victims of Dolly, now turning to “refugees” from Houston and Galveston who have come down here because they have family or connections. Looking for more permanent homes, jobs etc, have kids settled in schools with uniforms, supplies. We still have Rita survivors staying here in what was supposed to be temp housing (not FEMA, provided by generous voluteers including many Winter Texans who gave unused RVs and mobiles)

This is so absolutely true. Lets all make the intention to keep all in prayer every day, not just storm refugees, victims of war or persecution, abortion, etc. Lets all promise to keep all in daily prayer as this is our job and duty as Church Militant.

I just want to say that daily I hear much about the hurricane victims and my heart and prayers go out to them. Many still do not have power,.even in less damaged areas in and surrounding Houston. I am glad there are people and groups besides FEMA to help. I find that government programs are sometimes helpful,yet generally not and alot of hoops to jump through in hopes of help.
God helps us all. I have my first grandson who is 5 months old and to imagine all the abortions is awful and mothers, children,old,sick, homeless, victims of crimes and others in my opinion are the first that need our prayers.
I often feel I am not doing enough about all this because I am sick and mostly bedridden. I only realize sometimes that God can use my crosses and prayers for others.But I keep pushing forward. And people like you on here have made a huge difference in my prayer life.Thank you.
