A,

Now I have explained the ressurection in a common sense manner and have explained or shown several miracles supporting the ressurection.

I have explained the the Apostles scared out of their wits had left Jesus to be flogged, ttried, and crucified alone while they fled and hid, Not to mention that one denied Jesus 3 times.

I have then asked what would bring men these men out of hiding?

According to them Jesus manifested appeared to them in the flesh after rising from the dead.

That these distinct and very different walks of life would all proclaim the same and would face horrible deaths on a possibility or hallucination?

I have shown just a few miracles that you today can see and have all the scientific evidence before you. The shroud of Tourin and the Miracle of the Eucharist.

Why it still be flesh and blood today and not dust is unexplained by science.

Now I am not asking you to believe but to tell me how you have come to the intelligent decision of atheism.

You have avoided the issue totally and now all ask on what facts or proofs do you have that there is no God. Because you just do not believe is a cop out and you know it.
c659

May i ask? There are four billion people on this planet that are not christians. If what you present as evidence is enough, wouldn’t they all be christians as well??

You have offered a few stories, even used the phrase ‘peer-reviewed scientific journal’. You have not cited any evidence. Stories are not evidence.
The Shroud of Tourin and the Miracle of the Eucharist are facts.

I have offerd you detail accounts acording to history.

Let me ask you a Question? Who is buried in Grants Tomb?

Who assainated Lincoln?

Did the revolutionary war really occur?

You know these the same as I know Christs.

You have no proof or evidence.

Can anyone prove the existence of logic?

You can neither see it, nor hear it, nor taste it, nor smell it, yet for some reason people continue to assert that it exists.

Strange superstition one might think.

A,

What is evidence?

The law of evidence governs the use of testimony (e.g., oral or written statements, such as an affidavit) and exhibits (e.g., physical objects) or other documentary material which is admissible (i.e., allowed to be considered by the trier of fact, such as jury) in a judicial or administrative proceeding (e.g., a court of law).

Testimony · Documentary evidence
Physical evidence · Digital evidence
Exculpatory evidence · Scientific evidence
Demonstrative evidence · Real evidence
Eyewitness identification ·

Any which one or combination of can convict you or exonorate you in a court of law

I have given you 4 of the 5 and yes I did give you evidence.

You have yet to give me evidence God does not exist. That is what I asked you for in return.

Under the Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) Rule 401: “Relevant evidence” means evidence having any tendency to make the existence of any fact that is of consequence to the determination of the action more probable or less probable than it would be without the evidence.

I have showed you on an earlier post of such a trial in the Harvard Law School and other major law institution and quess what Chist won.

A

You asked for evidence and I have given you just that. It is physically and scientifically impossible that this is still and can be witnessed (evidence) today by you.

Do you understand that this Eucharist baffles the laws of nature?

Why do you scoff at the evidence?

A, I’ve noticed an odd trend in your posts. You claim that there is no evidence for something. Then someone presents some. Then you either ignore it, or dismiss it with a casual comment like “I am no historian”.

You have not provided any refutation for:
  1. Christ was a real person
  2. Christ was a moral teacher
  3. The Shroud. Despite your unsubstantiated claim that this is “a well known forgery”, this has not been established. The best that skeptics could possibly do is to demonstrate that medieval methods could create such a thing. This is not the same as proving that medieval methods did create it.
  4. The miracle of Lanciano. Even if the priest decided to prestidigitate a precise cross-section of a human heart for the host, how was it preserved? Spontaneous mummification? That priest sure got lucky!
  5. Fatima. Just because you think God should have done it differently doesn’t do a thing to disprove it.
I’ll add one more to the list:
6. The Tilma of Guadalupe

All of these things are evidence. The fact that you don’t like them doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Are they proof? No. But you’re not asking for proof, you’re asking for evidence. It has been provided. I’d like to see a court throw out 70,000 eyewitness reports, on the grounds that they disagree with the court’s preconceptions.

You’re also still throwing around the hell objection, which I thought we settled on the previous thread.

I’m beginning to wonder if you’re being honest in your inquiry. 😦
If all these are such solid, irrefutable evidence that there is a god and you have the right description, why didn’t all the other religions take it on?

I am being honest, but what I have seen is not evidence for me. There are ‘miracle’ stories among other faiths as well. There are many unexplained phenomena, and naming them ‘God’s Work’ only makes sense if you first presume the existence of god.
If you asked could a man’s image be transfered to a cloth and preserved unexpectedly, I would think it plausable. If you then said that it was god who did it, that is where we part.

As far as settling the ‘hell’ thing, I still think it is reprehensible. Threatening everyone like that would not be acceptable in any other context that I can imagine.

God does heal the sick and eye witness accounts of miracles even today going back to Christ’s time.
God does love all but not all love Him. God does not force His love upon anyone but leaves us free will to choose Him or dismiss Him.
Is there something in particular about amputees that makes him not want to heal them? Are they particularly ‘sinful’ as a group?

The Shroud of Tourin and the Miracle of the Eucharist are facts.
Don’t you wonder why so many of us are unconvinced?
I have offerd you detail accounts acording to history.

Let me ask you a Question? Who is buried in Grants Tomb?
I don’t know
Who assainated Lincoln?
Don’t know.
Did the revolutionary war really occur?
I am sure enough to bet a few spare dollars on it, but no more.
You know these the same as I know Christs.
I can see that.
You have no proof or evidence.
Exactly!

Can anyone prove the existence of logic?

You can neither see it, nor hear it, nor taste it, nor smell it, yet for some reason people continue to assert that it exists.

Strange superstition one might think.
Might be best to avoid it altogether!😉

I do not know why others as yourself to not look at the evidence.

There are no other Religions that have such evidence as that of Christ.

You know that you are baffled by the preponderence of this evidence and to retain your Atheism must refute anything that comes before you even overwhelming evidence.

You know atheism cannot have any evidence for it does not require any.

A child of one is an Atheist. For a child of one does not correlate to facts and evidence.

(A) I gave you the definition of what evidence is and facts.

A boy saved his money, bought a stallion, and brought it home.

That is good

The stallion ran away.

That is bad

The Stallion came back several days later with several pregnant mares.

That is good

The boy rode the stallion and broke his leg that later needed to be amputated.

That is bad

A war was declared and the boy could not go because of the amputation.

that is good

The unit he would have been in were tottally annialated.

Has God possibly healed him.and answered his prayers.

What is your definition of healed remember healed is not cured.

Don’t you wonder why so many of us are unconvinced?I don’t knowDon’t know.I am sure enough to bet a few spare dollars on it, but no more.I can see that.
Exactly!
But do you not see that those questions Iasked you are facts because of the evidence.

Grant is buried in Grants Tomb

Lincoln was assainated

The revolutionary war did take place.

We know this because of overwhelnming evidece

Testimony · Documentary evidence
Physical evidence · Digital evidence
Exculpatory evidence · Scientific evidence
Demonstrative evidence · Real evidence
Eyewitness identification

A,

Have you ever been on a jury?

For if you apply evidence rules the way you are trying to here and not by the rules of evidence

No criminals would ever be convicted.

A)

HEALED
  1. To restore to health or soundness; cure. See Synonyms at cure.
  2. To set right; repair: healed the rift between us.
  3. To restore (a person) to spiritual wholeness.

If all these are such solid, irrefutable evidence that there is a god and you have the right description, why didn’t all the other religions take it on?

In what way are they not evidence? I think you mean that it’s not proof, in that it’s not enough to compel you to believe. That’s a fair statement to make. But how can you claim that it’s not evidence?
I mean, OJ’s testimony in court was evidence. You may or may not believe it, but it’s certainly evidence.
Seriously, look at your statements now. You’re not even offering an argument. You’re just saying that you choose not to believe. And that’s OK. I made that choice for a long time. But be aware of what you’re doing. You’re not arguing evidence, you’re just believing what you want.

As for why other religions don’t take it on. The first reason, of course, is inertia. Almost everybody accepts the religion of their parents, and never does any serious inquiry. Other reasons that come to mind: Societal pressure. Availability of information. Family problems. Pride. Personal prejudice against Christians. Personal dislike of Christian teaching. Extreme skepticism.

You’re certainly right about other religions having miracle stories. Muslims have seen the name of Allah or Mohammad written in various remarkable places. Buddhists have statues that apparently emanate light. Hindus have their milk drinking statues. I would suspect that none of them have been subject to the same scientific inquiry that the Catholic church subjects itself to, but I don’t know that for a fact.

For the purposes of this discussion, it’s not even relevant. Miracles in other faiths do not affect the evidence for Catholicism. It could be an interesting discussion, though, if you want to start up another thread.

Over half now are though. The Catholic Church alone has 1.2 Billion where 2000 years ago there were no Christians.

That is true but not all people know of Christ.

People know the law and ramifications of murdering somone but they still do it.

People do not have the fullness of faith–truth—

People think they are gods and will never admit someone is greater than they in part like Lucifer.

if Jesus appeared in the sky before the whole World someone like A if asleep and did not see it would say it is not true. For testimony, miracles, eyewitness accounts, Scientific conclussions, courts, historical accounts, or the ability himself to go and see these actual miracles in person are not good enough for him to have belief.

While atheism has absolutely no evidence, facts, or proofs.

For these are not evidence to him. However these evidences is how we acquire facts.

By the way Buddah, Mohammed, etc… are not gods and do not claim to be.

The 3 main Religions of the world are all derived from God the Father.

Jews, Christians, and Islam

Jews and Islam by the way do not deny Jesus just that He was not the Son of God–the Messiah

To which they are still waiting for.

God the Father has never shown Himslf to these and if you read the texts of these two Religions.

For right now these two have no way to gain entry into Heaven without Allah and the Messiah.

They have no path for the rift between God and man has yet to be repaired.

The reason you are a atheist is because you have murder in your heart and you love sex, and destroying anything that is Good.
You don’t believe in God but you worship the dark side. You have a hate that over powers you, that not even you can destroy. You do not know Love, I feel sorry for you, you may hate religion, God, because it is confusing to you. I am sorry you are so unhappy with your life, that you would want to destroy life. I am sorry, you feel rejected, unwanted, and unloved. That you are so consumed by this empty feeling. I am sorry, you have never felt the love of a baby or felt of its love and purity. I am sorry, you hate your parents for bringing you into this darken world. I am sorry, that you have become such a empty and hollow being. I am sorry that you think you have out smarted everyone. I am sorry, that you have let the other power take control of you and has left you powerless, that you have become enslaved by the unseen being. I am sorry… but one day you will wake up knowing, you have made all the wrong choices, and in that day, you will know what pain really is. For you will be accountable for everything, and your pain will be great, more than you can endure in this life and the next. You serve not yourself, you are not a free person, you do not know what freedom is, you are truly in bondage, I feel sorry for you.

National Enquirer

It is by evidence that we attain facts/truth

Don,
I think you are being a bit dramatic

A, is a man (Human) and as such made in the image and likeness of God and as such was given free will and a soul.

It is his choice to believe or not believe and it is for God to judge.

It is our Job if he is willing to listen not to codemn but to convince of the need to repent and have faith in God.
Prayers and the patience given to us by the Holy Spirit is what is needed

You really have to stretch around to make it sound like your god might have healed an amputee.
Your god will not. Either he hates amputees, or is unable to heal their severed limbs.
