Murder is a legal term. Doctors who conduct these procedures are not murderers.
Change the law, or use different language. Calling them murderers is not only dishonest (making you sound quite unreasonable), it is also incorrect.
Sorry to reply so late in the day. Reading the subsequent posts, I think they all do a fairly good job explaining it. Don’t know if I have much more to add to it really. But if you still have questions, ask away ! 😃

Hello 659

The key word here is “mock”. This proves nothing
OJ won too…😃

I searched for information on this mock trail and didn’t find it.
Do you have a source for it??
He’s just giving you more examples. I don’t get it with you atheists.

Although, if you are so easy to insult, and actually would be so “sensitive like a baby’s bottom” as to want to prohibit the wider audience here from hearing opinions of honest observations of “fanatically religiously-fervent atheists”, then the usual fascistic behavior of the typical atheist is well demonstrated in you.

This post I also don’t understand. If you want to communicate with me, make sense. Try asking questions.
That you can’t draw meaning from what someone else says doesn’t mean that others can’t, or that there is no meaning there to be had.

I appreciate your inability to make sense of that which makes no sense to you. That is what conversation is for. To figure out what the other means by what they say.
Are you suggesting that I am a fascist? Could you define that term so I know if you are insulting me or not?
All atheists are, by definition, fascists, as they are only interested in “power relationships”, via “gangs”, because they admit to no “higher authority” than “he who has the most power makes the rules”.

Psyche

I never insulted you.
Sure seemed like it, but if I was wrong I apologize. Sometimes I’m too quick to be on the defensive. I recognize this. :o

I still don’t think your post really held much for me to answer though. If there’s a question there, I’ll do my best to help out…

So then it WAS the same god who placed the cancer there in the first place.
Why do you think he changed his plan (to kill your friend with cancer)?
In the atheist point of view death is the end. In the Christian point of view it is only the beginning.

Do you ‘believe’ (meaning you **know **without needing evidence) that a fertilized egg in a human womans womb is a ‘soul’ (human person) ?
Yes, that’s what I believe. It also helps me to know that science does back it up. Of course they don’t bring the soul into question because that’s not a scientifically definable thing, but they agree it is human. So in this case I don’t have to choose. They’re in agreement. But if science wasnt’ sure, I’d go with my Church. Or if the Church is unclear, then I’d go with the science untill I learn otherwise… I hope that answers your question…

CalmDownWisWins,

We all get frustrated from time to time, and clearly atheists can be difficult to deal with. Even though there has been condescension and unneccessary sarcasm in some of their posts, it is not appropriate for us to be even mildly uncharitable.

Christians can intellectually argue and parry with our adversaries, but we must do so carefully and charitably. The apostle Peter puts it this way:

1 Peter 3:15-16
“Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence; and keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.”

I hope this helps.

“If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.” (Luke 16:31)

There is no convincing these people. I think we have tried. But because of their skepticism I don’t think we will ever convince them.

Do you ‘believe’ (meaning you **know **without needing evidence) that a fertilized egg in a human womans womb is a ‘soul’ (human person) ?
Yes.

But there IS evidence that the person in the womb, even at conception, is a “soulful person”. There is no detectable dividing line between this “thing” and the person that it will develop into, and can be consider a person from beginning to end for this reason.

You would need to show US the dividing line between “personhood” and “nonpersonhood” to make the positive assertion that it ISN’T a person!

Are you saying the church tells you what to believe?
Yes, the church is based upon scripture, tradition, the Holy Spirit guiding the Pope (only on issues of faith and morals does the Holy Spirit guide him to make infallible statements), and the church fathers. Our Church was handed down to us through Jesus directly. All these things tell me what to believe and I have no reason to doubt that what the Church says is right. They’re all much more intelligent than I will ever be, they have the history and the experience and the holy spirit when I do not. So if I ever need to know what to do in a given situation or what to believe, my answers are clearly written for me. I have never come across a situation when the answers didn’t turn out to be 100% true either.

Yes. But the dogmas (a dirty word to you, I know!) are very simple and yet have far ranging consequences.

We KNOW that you don’t like to be told what to do, as you see all authority as bad, even the ONE singular authority (and ONLY in the area of faith and morals) which is alone not to be disobeyed, but because you fail to realize the consequences of the dogmas of the ONE authority, and how following that authority DEMANDS that we test all other authorities, and how that is FREEDOM and not (as you would/will claim) “Slavery”, you are left with the (sensible) conclusion that NO authority is to be followed (in any area of life) any more than “does me good”.

If you had prayed to a jug of milk you would have gotten the same results.
So if I had prayed to a jug of milk asked for something very specific, I could expect to get that *exact same thing *the very next day??? I don’t think so… Nice try though.

You see, you asked for an example and said you would believe if it happened. I have given you my evidence. I could try to get the medical results from my friend but cant’ guarantee she’ll allow it because of HIPPA. But you still don’t believe it. You have given me no reason to disbelieve it either by the way.

Hello A

I’ll have to agree with you on CalmDown, I don’t associate with people like that in person but like you I haven’t put her on the ignore list either. People have real bad days sometime, maybe this was hers. 🙂
I am usually a lurker not a poster but this thread seemed like a good one to post on. I am enjoying it ! I hope you do start another one. I have enjoyed all three.
I’m finding it hard to keep up with two or three people. You have did an amazing job keeping up with all of these people through three threads. 🙂
It was nice meeting you!!!

les
I agree. It’s hard finding the time to answer all the questions. I do my best though… I do hope you post another thread.

Finally, a question.
I don’t like the terms ‘good’ or ‘bad’, I prefer to use ‘better’ or ‘worse’.
I consider a suggestion better if it lines up with my goals. What is the point?
Of course you don’t, being an inveterate “relativist”.

What makes a “good/better” that, and what makes a “bad/worse” that?

Is it simple a relative term to “your comfort level”, ie makes you “comfy” or “less comfy”?

Calling someone a ‘slaver’ is pretty insulting. I would suggest that you report yourself to the mods. For my part, I am simply going to ignore you if there is one more insult on here.

If you don’t report yourself, I submit that it is because you are afraid of bringing your text to the attention of the moderators.
You can prove me wrong - just report you, and if you have done nothing wrong, the mods will certainly agree. I have found them to be reasonable on this board.
Since I can’t prove that I’ve reported myself (a novel request, I must admit! :)) to the mods, why should I bother?

I will never report myself to the mods, because the mods are, in my opinion, a bit “weak” in defending Catholics against bullies like yourself. It is assumed (by me) that anyone can report anyone around here, so if I’m to be reported, I will be. 🙂

As with most atheists, you’r very good at being sly with your “insults” of Catholics (and believers in general) and can appear quite “nice” while not being so in fact.

At any rate, do I consider atheists to be, at heart, “slavers”? Yes. Why? Because an actively anti-God world view will always degenerate into the masses being physically oppressed by a clique of people who will do anything to continue their “comfort” in power through physical coersion. They can do anything they like because they are their own “God”.

God prohibits using physical coersion to “convert” people to a certain political thinking. Only persuasion is allowable.

If you had prayed to a jug of milk you would have gotten the same results.
Ikkie, how do you know that?

For people who are always demanding “PROOF”, where is your proof that you have a clue as to what you are saying is factual?

The question I ask may or may not have to do with God. I just asked a simple basic question and that is, what is evidence to you?

It is a question that you refuse to answer and I am not answering a question with a question.

In a court of Law, in a history book, etc… what is evidence and what is the principles of evidence and on how do you achieve it?

This is necessary for myself and the rest of the board to understand if we are dealing with an intellegent form of life or someone just sprouting jibberish.

You are the one asking for evidence and before anyone answers any more of your silly questions that you refute no matter what evidence is given we need to know what your definition of evidence is?

How would you if sitting on a jury use evidence and what evidence to convict or set free a man or woman?

My definition so far of Atheism after speaking with you on the board is to admit nothing and deny everything.
This is a lie. I answered this question on page 48, post 720 of this thread. Here it is again…

(Hi 659

Evidence you ask? Your god recreating the first 6 days of creation on the moon. Don’t brush this off. If you have a god this is just mere child’s play for him or her. It is a god, correct. It can do this with a snap of a finger.

In the four gospels, jesus said nine times if you are a believer your prays would be answered. You are a believer. Pray that this happens. If it doesn’t your jesus was lying. He plainly said if you believe your prayer WOULD be answered. )

This would be sufficient evidence for the world and myself.

I think this will be the forth time i have asked you for a answer.

Can you and your god provide this evidence or not?? A simple yes or no will do.
