I am confused about this idea of sex reassignment surgery

It’s not that black and white. If the brains of transgender persons (or anyone on the LGBTQ spectrum) show differences from the brains of those not on the spectrum, there’s still the chicken and the egg to deal with. Does the physical brain difference drive the behavior or does the behavior cause the differences? Both scenarios are plausible. Additionally, what if they ARE “born that way”? Obviously, empathy is key, but humans are “born with” all kinds of behaviors based on brain differences and we provide intervention in the form of medication, therapy, counseling, etc. Why is this different?

I suppose my next question is why you feel you have the ability to judge? It’s okay for men to chest feed in some circumstances it would seem. And I assume you approve of “naturally” conceived children. And it’s also positive that someone is able to breastfeed. So wherein lies the issue?
Oh I don’t know… how about little Johnny taking to his buddies on the play ground about how he was in his daddy’s tummy and how he has a penis like his mommy?

Why do we think as a culture it’s ok to make children’s lives more complicated due to the selfish desires of the parents/adults?

*Divorce
*day care with absentee parents who only care about money
*Nannies while rich Mom shops all day and goes to the spa, etc
*Forcing them to go (when they don’t want to go) all summer to sleep away camp
*crissing the border illegally with kids in tow
*ripping kids away from their parents and shipping them across the county
*Committing crimes and getting arrested with kids at him
*placing kids with foster parents who only do it for the money
*Dead beat parents
*surgacy
*aborting unwanted babies
*doing IVF when kids around the world need homes
*single parents who purposely become single parents
*etc, etc, etc

Why don’t we just put the kids first?

People with androgen insensitivity normally can’t produce sperm.
. Yes, that’s way I said typically. 🙂
… saying a y makes someone male seems odd. Why not say that two x’s makes them female? That would seem just as correct.
Because XXY is genetically male.
That’s not really an answer. That’s just saying “because”. Having two x chromosomes is genetically female, so that person could be female.
No, you are wrong. Look up XXY. It’s called Klinefelter Syndrome, and they are all consider genetically male.

I’m a teacher, kids know these things and they’re not hard to explain 😊

Divorce is better than a horrible household where parents hate each other.

Poorer parents often have to rely on daycare options so they can feed their family.

Nannies are often used when both parents work.

Australia doesn’t really do summer camp, it looks rather fun but I wouldn’t know.

Better to cross a border than allow the child to be in war, gang fights and other hideously dangerous situations. Would you prefer to stay in a war zone with your child so you would cross a border? I wouldn’t.

Agreed, don’t commit crimes.

Agreed, vet the foster families.

Better a child come into the world via surrogate than not at all.

I prefer adoption but some people feel it important to have their biological child.

Klinefelter syndrome: MedlinePlus Genetics
I know about klinefelter 😊 that doesn’t answer the question though.

Read Humane Vitae this will c,ear things up for you
I read that a long while ago. I admit I disagreed with it on a few counts, particularly the issues with contraception and how that impacted the fight against HIV.

So if an intersex person with AIS who is physically a woman married a man, would you consider that to be a same-sex marriage and would you consider it to be sinful?

From a religious point of view, marriages can only happen between two people who are ordered towards having natural children. Individuals may be sterile or past the child baring age. But if it would be totally impossible for two people not ordered towards having children to marry.

For example, a castersted man cannot marry.

Also, if a couple purposely chooses to never have children (aka they are not open to live) then that’s not a valid marriage either.

The fundamental purpose of marriage is to create a stable home for the creation of children.

I pray I answered your question

I always find this fascinating. A castrated man cannot marry, but a woman without a womb can. It would take a miracle of equal standing for either to give life. It seems less about the propensity for life and more about the ability to have heterosexual sex, regardless of the potential for life.
