God doesn’t make things “easy” for people. Many things in life, simply ~are~ and God is ~there~ for people, to help them through things, not magically fix things for the wanting, or purposely cursing, as arbitrary punishment for no discernible reason.
Are there legitimate reasons for people to fear other people, based on looks or skin coloring? Social or economic status?
I have schizophrenia, and a few other things, so I understand what it’s like to be marginalized for issues I was born with. God doesn’t see people that way, though. It’s hard to stand alone, but we don’t Have to do it that way.
Feelings are not facts, and it’s possible to Change the way we feel about things, when we explore the Facts about them.
Schizophrenia, as I have it, has much in common with high functioning Autism, except that I get pretty messed up in the head if I don’t stay grounded. I’ve had Many psychotic episodes that I’ve had to be hospitalized for, for example.
Except that it wasn’t ~necessary~ to stick me in a hospital. My family could have simply Spoken to me, and helped me focus on the world around me, rather than over-react and make it “someone else’s problem”
So where my own family has often rejected me, and ejected me from their lives, leaving me homeless, because they were “afraid” of me “going crazy” even though I have never harmed a single person, at least not since I punched another kid in 7th grade… over 30 years ago… I can see how people live in fear of things they don’t understand.
Sometimes it takes longer to Talk about our differences with people, especially if they don’t want to listen. Sometimes we have a lot to learn for Ourselves, about ourselves, and our relationship with God, before we’re ready to speak up for ourselves, or better, for others, once we find the strength to walk with Christ.
Read more of what He has to say, especially the red letter parts, if you have such a Bible. There’s a lot to be said for Psalms as well =)
