Ok, is this still the official teaching even after V2?If you don’t feel comfortable burning a Bible, even though it is heretical one, that’s fine. But you should at least keep it from passing into somebody else’s hands, and bury it. It is a sin for Catholics to read Protestant literature or to circulate it. The only time we as Catholics are permitted to read anything Protestant is when we are doing some necessary research. In fact, Catholics are prohibited from having heretical literature in their homes; if they keep heretical books in their home for more than 30 days after being aware that it is prohibited in the home under pain of excommunication, then they get automatically excommunicated. This is the traditional teaching of the Church. God bless you.
If that’s so I find it really strange that The Catholic Church in my country cooperates with the biggest Lutheran bible manufacture nationwide.
But then again the bibles they produce has been well known as good translations by everyone, and I mean everyone. Even the orthodox use it so if one look past the missing books Im pretty sure it’s a more than acceptable bible to use.
I think that with the blessings of several of our bishops Im good to go when it comes to reading it
Also I think it’s used in the Holy Mass as well.
Mhm, Ready can you be a lamb and show me any link to the canon law you’re referring to?
Yours in Jesus and Mary
