Man that is sick. I wish the liberal feminists would get off of it. They’re not about “Planned Parenthood” they’re about murder of innocent children. Disgusting. They need to give ALL the facts to women going in their office, not just a biased opinion.

In reply to siamesecat’s post, I think that the way abortions are handled should be changed, they won’t go away entirely. Maybe each case should be heard by a family judge or something and all the facts should be given to the woman considering having an abortion. I don’t get it, where’s the father’s rights in this? It’s his kid too, he should have the right to say he’d take care of it or find someone who would if he wasn’t able.

it is nice to see the antithesis of myself: the living antidote. So while you might not hate me, you probably shouldn’t like me because I am the worst person that posts on this forum I’m sure. Just know that I am not the “antichrist” by choice, it just seems to always work out that way.

I thought I was your nemesis?? 😛 There is a rule of thumb, Wormwood, in the spiritual life. If a person, let’s say, is very lustful and lives this lust all his life (like StAugustine), when he encounters Jesus, his life gets turn around big time. So, as much as he was lustful in the past, he has the same potential for purity. His weakness became his strength. This goes for any vice/virtue. Many of our greatest saints were, at one point, the greatest sinners. We must take consolation in that. St Paul is another great example. The passion they put in their wickedness at one time was the passion found in their strength in following Jesus 110%.

Thus I see this in you. This is my prayer for you…that the amount of bitterness that you experience may one day be replaced with as much joy

PS, if this doesn’t make sense, it’s because it is too early in the morning. My brain is still sleeping.

Blessings,
Shoshana

You make sense to me. 👍

😛

Me too!! But you don’t play fair. You aren’t supposed to be nice to me, that threw me off 😉 You are too sweet to be my nemisis.
Many of our greatest saints were, at one point, the greatest sinners.
This is comforting, if it is true I’ll be a MEGA saint one day! Now that you mention it, I do recall hearing that some of the saints were “less than perfect” in their early life, and that is mighty inspiring. I wonder if any of them had been called “inhuman” before?
Thus I see this in you. This is my prayer for you…that the amount of bitterness that you experience may one day be replaced with as much joy
See what I mean…you are the WORST nemisis I have EVER had 🙂 Cruelty such as mine can not overcome such compassion. I tell you I’m a monster and you wish for my happiness. I tell you that I am a scourge to mankind and you compare me to a saint…you can find yourself a NEW nemisis, because I quit 🙂
You make sense to me. 👍
SAME goes for you Aimee!! Don’t incourage her!!

Well, many of the local Abortion mills aren’t too happy about the shirt either:

Designer of “I Had an Abortion” Shirt Reacts to Nationwide Criticism

by Steven Ertelt

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) – The abortion activist who created the “I Had an Abortion” t-shirt for Planned Parenthood that has spawned a firestorm of controversy nationwide is speaking out in her defense. The controversial shirt has prompted Planned Parenthood affiliates to oppose their parent organization and many women who have had abortions are up in arms.

Jennifer Baumgardner, the shirt’s designer, is a New York resident who frequently writes on women’s issues. She recently co-authored a book called “Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism and the Future.”

Baumgardner told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that she was tired of hearing stories of how abortion left women “feeling embarrassed or scorned” because pro-life protesters at abortion facilities called them “baby haters” or worse.

She told the Milwaukee paper that the shirt helps women make a “proud” statement that no apology is necessary for having an abortion.

“In any town there are women who’ve gotten abortions,” she told the Journal Sentinel. “It’s probably people we know and love.”

But women who have had abortions say the shirt is offensive and that their abortions caused them intense emotional pain and sometimes medical problems.

At age 18, Pennsylvania resident Karen Bodle learned she was pregnant from her first sexual encounter and had an abortion when she felt she had no other options.

The abortion experience left Karen depressed and confused and plagued her ability to develop a relationship because she was continually haunted by her experience.

“I want America to know that abortion hurts women. Women are created to love and nurture their children, not have them ripped from their wombs and thrown away,” Bodle says.

“I did not want more women to go through the intense pain and suffering that I had experienced,” Bodle added.

That Baumgardner would create the t-shirt is no surprise given her activism background.

Baumgardner, who grew up in North Dakota and graduated from Lawrence University in Wisconsin, was a pro-abortion counterprotester outside of abortion facilities during college.

She told the newspaper she plans to create a documentary featuring women who have had abortions telling their stories.

But, will Baumgardner include women such as Olivia Gans, the director of American Victims of Abortion who opposes the sale of the shirt and regrets her abortion decision?

For Gans, who would give anything to undo her abortion decision, the t-shirt is a sad reminder of a decision so many women regret.

“Every abortion not only ends a life, but it can leave a woman emotionally wounded,” said Gans. “The experience of abortion is traumatic and devastating and I am appalled that Planned Parenthood would exploit the tragic experience of women like myself to further their agenda.”

It would be nice if this shirt continued to have a divisive effect amongst the Pro-abort forces out there. A house divided against itself cannot stand…

Lone voice,
The docs did abortions in their offices - pretty much the same set up as now – these are not surgical facilities with all the requirements of even an outpatient hospital.

Whether or not women will have abortions is still not a good reason to legalize it. People still commit murder and we don’t legalize that.

Instead do whatever is in your power to teach abstinence and that proper setting for intercourse - marriage. You could also learn to be an advocate for the Culture of Life – lots of ways to support life – work at a pregnancy crisis clinic. You could adopt a child that some one wants to abort. It is a great improvement over justifying killing the unborn.

I don’t mean to be rude, but you realize that the fetus is a baby and human. Do you realize that more abortions are performed now in the age with contraceptives available almost everywhere? Abortion has become a method of birth control. How can offering more opportunities to kill a child help someone learn to be responsible?

It is almost like the concept where people won’t neuter their male dogs because they can’t have puppies – yet they can still go breed with a female and create unwanted puppies. It is a bit of illogic not to see the whole picture.

When our (adopted and included in the special needs category) son fisrt found his penis – my hisband smiled and said “Yes it is special and comes with a lot responsiblity” Sure the baby probably had no grasp of that concept – but the line has been repeated several times since then. We hope that our son will learn understand the depth of the meaning of that phrase before he is an adolescent being driven by hormones.

Hi Mamamull

I’m not certain that you clearly understood my comments about the article I posted. Somehow it seems as though you think I support abortion, and that could not be further from the truth.

Perhaps you missed my signatures?

For instance, I am very aware that fetus is a baby and human, and I am equally aware of the abortifacient nature of modern birth control methods. However, I do understand the point you’re making, about finding actions to take and participate in to help hasten the end of abortion. Rest assured that I do.

Having said that, the only point I was making was that the shirts may have had an effect that the designer didn’t intend, which is to shine a bit of light onto the member’s true feelings/knowledge of the issue. Maybe the PP members that are disturbed by the shirt are feeling the prick of conscience, an inner admission that they KNOW what they are supporting is WRONG, and wish for it to remain something that most folks don’t THINK about;(out of sight and out of mind?) so they don’t have to be reminded of it and made to feel guilty.

The unwelcome light of attention to themselves and their cause maybe the tiniest chink in their armor, and that could be the beginning of the end.

Wishful thinking, I know, but we can always hope.

JMHO

How very, very sad…while I have not seen such a shirt, my reaction is to pray for the one wearing it, and for the victim it unwittingly commemmorates.

AMEN! Tell me where I can get a T-shirt that says “Your mother didn’t have an abortion” and I will put my order in!

God Bless,

Mrs. H.

"They have finally arrived!

Planned Parenthood is proud to offer yet another t-shirt in our new social fashion line: “I Had an Abortion” fitted T-shirts are now available. These soft and comfortable fitted tees assert a powerful message in support of women’s rights."

Does anybody find it ironic that a group called “Planned Parenthood” would produce a T-shirt sponsoring the unfortunate outcome of what is usually an unplanned pregnancy?

Perhaps we should counter with a T-shirt carrying the message:

“Your mother didn’t have an abortion”

In response…I know many people would not mind caring for a Downs Syndrome child. My next door neighbors (well former…they had to move to be closer to their sons school for autism) are like family to us. They had an autistic son. I love him very much and I am glad it was not known till after the birth of his disability because his mom probably would have aborted him. However, I can see what it did to the rest of the family. They are devastated, struggling to pay a 60k tuition to a school that will help him, and had to move because of it. They cant go many public places, or have much company, and his big sister has suffered a lot from it. It tore the family apart…and they will have to care for him forever…they wont have a retirement…when they die he will probably end up in a home somewhere. That is why I support abortion for a kid with a severe birth defect (and i mean something severe), although i love david very much. I completely understand why some rape victims and parents of special needs children want the children, hwoever I am also understanding of theneed to have an abortion. In rape cases I believe they should be given emergency contraception so that pregnancy will be avoided (i really dont consider it life when the fetus is just a cell). But please dont get me wrong, i know special needs kids can be loving and be loved and that its not their fault…but i understand why some people choose to terminate that kind of pregnancy.

Is this the SAME David?

My next door neighbors are like my family. They have a 5 year old autistic son named David. He is mild. If you observed several different autistic children you will become aware that there are different degrees of severity. He does speak and understand, just on a lower level than the rest of his age group. Hes happy, makes eye contact, likes to cuddle and be around people. Severely autistic kids often dont speak, dont appear to understand (although many do), and hate any social contact, refusing to meet peoples eyes or be hugged or anything. You must be very mild as autism is not something you grow out of…if you were mildly autistic as achild u still are you just were so mild that all you probably needed was some special attention in certain areas to get rid of some of your autistic behaviors and bring you up to ‘normal’ level.

Yes. David is not mild enough to be brought up to normal level though. He will never be able to live on his own. David IS a happy kid…now. In the future, I worry.

It was only a matter of time before the priesthood of the sacrament of evil dropped the charade of caring and has moved on to boasting.

In the absence of God all is permissible…this is the open secret the New Atheism gets very defensive about but that insight remains true.

De Sade would have appreciated the black humour.

Sometimes good comes from evil. The good I see from this is the Pro-Aborts will identify themselves from wearing the t-shirts.

We will now know who to pray for, who to talk to stating the real facts about life and abortion & this will in turn help to change the hearts of Americans so practically everyone will be Pro-Life in the near future.
My first reaction was also “now we will know who to pray for”

Doesn’t surprise me. Haven’t you heard of the woman who started Planned Parenthood? Margaret Sanger?

She’s a hero of the progressive movement. She thought that African Americans shouldn’t pro-create and used PP to help that. Not only blacks, but any “unfit” non-White people. She actually spoke at Klan rallies. She brought eugenics to the US.

Probably the greatest thing I’ve ever seen in my life is a Planned Parenthood with a church right next to it. The best part was that the church’s name was “New Life Pentecostal Church” They named it new life and it’s a born again church…Love it! I showed the picture I showed to a priest, he said it was one of the greatest things he’s ever seen.

This thread started in 2004, and I looked up the article which showed the t-shirt. I must admit. I have never in the last 6 years since they started with EVER seen a woman wearing that…

I can’t even imagine that a person could be proud to do so.

It really is not about what the world is coming to - it is about what the world is. Moral relatvisim (which I think really should be re-termed ME-ism) has a stranglehold. It will take many years of many Christians arming themselves with knowledge and standing for Jesus Christ to start making changes person by person.

However, the Catholic Church and Christian community has opportunity here. The t-shirt is rather vague - it merely states fact but no position is taken on remorse or promotion. We could come out with our own t-shirt that clarifies the saving message of Christ’s death on the cross:

Front:
“I had an abortion. I’m sorry. I went to confession.”

Back:
“I’m free from my sin. Jesus loves me. Receive His love.”
I might wear one of your suggested t-shirts with the front quotes only. In my opinion, the ones on the back cannot be substantiated. And I have doubts as to how many women who undergo abortions are ever truly free from their experiences.
