I have found the last straw

After 4 long hellish months…I discovered the last straw and I broke.

I finally got in to see the surgeon and it was going to be DECEMBER 29 before I could get my first appointment in with the 3rd doctor. Then tests, then 2 follow ups, then a major surgery. :bigyikes:

Nope.

Not happening.

Not enduring this nonsense one moment longer.

Goodbye and good riddance NaPro!

I have an appointment with a regular (secular) GYN to discuss birth control pills, shots and/or IUD’s.

Seriously though…sometimes enough is enough.

I feel the same way about having another kid. Every once-in-awhile I would think to myself…maybe, just maybe we’ll have a fourth.

Then something utterly ridiculous will happen.

Like last week the dishwasher completely died and a day or so later I’m washing the dishes and the sink gets backed up and so clogged that we try to use an auger and Draino to fix it but all that does is unhinge the plumbing under the sink and send water cascading into the kitchen.
With just me and the three kids.

Or this week…everyone gets sick, including me, except my oldest…who is the high energy child and needs attention All.The.Time!

And I tell myself…No. No more kids. You are out of your mind.

Most people have these happily ever after stories with their NaPro experience. Whatever! I just wish I’d never found it in the first place, at least not this doctor. Whatever they did while they were in there messed me the freak up. And after 4 months of begging them to do something to fix it, we really aren’t any closer to figuring it out. And a good portion of it has been needless pain filled waiting. I seriously contemplated ways to die today. Then I realized how totally insanely crazy I’ve let this drama make me. I don’t have to let it. There ARE other Church approved (though pious laity frowned upon) methods for treatment.

Praying that your new doctor is able to provide treatment that addresses your health issues and gives you healing. I think you’re making the right decision to seek an alternative opinion.

Glad to hear you are exploring other options. Remember it’s ultimately your choice and simply seeing a secular gyno doesn’t lock you in to that either.

I still think you may benefit from calling the National Catholic Bioethics Center to discuss. So far you have allowed a poorly informed deacon and well meaning but misguided lay Catholics to fill your head with needless guilt and misinformation. Many people on this forum have tried to correct this situation, but hearing it for yourself from people trained in the Catholic ethics of these sorts of medical scenarios may offer you the confidence to make good medical choices with a clear conscience.

You need to do whatever is good for your physical and mental health. As you have had this lon-standing health problem any priest will tell you the same. As far as sex while on birth control meds. sex is part of marriage. As you will be taking the meds for your health and not to avoid conception, there is no sin. Be at peace.

Don’t listen to them. And don’t let them make your conscience heavy. The Church understands and does not condemn. Who are they to say otherwise?

The pain is excruciating today. But good news is that I was able to schedule an appointment for tomorrow with the doctor’s nurse practitioner. She can’t do everything (like surgery) but she can get me off to a good start. Prayers please that all goes well. And with any luck, I might be able to enjoy this weekend for once!
