I need help with medicaid assistance

I had to receive medical attention at a local Hospital (my brother jumped me, and we got into fight). I have no medical insurance since I have been unemployed. I was told at the hospital when I went for care that I could apply for medicaid and it would retroactively cover my medical expenses.

I applied 1 week after (as instructed). I was told, ONCE AGAIN that it would retroactively cover the medical expenses by the enrollment facilitator I applied with.

Fast forward to today, I receive a letter stating that because I am under a “SCC category” (meaning single, childless, couples), they have to enact a “change” in my coverage: so they won’t cover my bill retroactively. Which is why I applied for medicaid in the first place.

I now have to ask for a conference and a hearing, and I am now about 2,500 dollars in the hole.

I hope you are ok! It is so difficult to get Medicaid coverage these days. They wont cover me at all cause I get 50 dollars too much every month. I pray for a quick resolution to this for you!

Dear pollylodges I am so very sorry to hear this. I am sorry your brother attacked you and I am sorry that your medical assistance is not helping. I so wish your country provided adequate care for its citizens without all this insurance situation.
