I saw someone steal the eucharist.

Andrew, that’s sad and understandably frustrating. I grew up in a Traditional Mass, so we never touched the Eucharist, only the priest did. One time, after coming back from Communion, I discovered a host sticking to one of the hymn cards. I was little at the time, but even I knew that wasn’t right. My mother brought it to the attention of an usher who must have showed it to the priest and bishop because the next Sunday’s sermon was about the abuse of the Eucharist. I’m sorry that your church didn’t give the situation the importance and concern it deserved. And if she really did have a sick friend or relative, you’re right, that’s not how it should have been handled. She should have brought a pyx. Brushing up on your Catechism will help.

Yes, I hope I would have had the courage to do the same if I was an unarmed boy carrying the Blessed Sacrament confronted with a gang of thugs armed with clubs and stones. The story does not take anything away from the points I have made here, but rather enhances them.
Actually it does - he did not fight the for it - he died for it. We are talking about passive resistance not killing to defend the Eucharist.

Seriously?? Come ON. Really?

You DID read the story, right?

Exactomundo! And that is a HUGE difference.

Well obviously you three have a bee in your bonnet about this so we’ll have to agree to disagree.

Just want the truths of our faith to be articulated accurately. If that’s a bee, bring on the whole hive. 😉
