I think the JW's are the "most right" religion out there

I sat here during my lunch hour and read this entire thread thinking I might learn something “new” about JW’s (my “new” brother-in-law (who claims he WAS a JW but never went to the meetings) now claims he was recently thrown out because he married my sister in an Episcople church; my sister not being Catholic)). He still defends the JW’s with the same type of severe attitude as Jaded27. There’s no reasoning or talking to him even though he’s been thrown out.

Anyway, it was interesting to read (from the outside looking in) a constant sort of “snide” argumentative attitude expressed by “Jaded27”. After reading one of her responses that she had posted a new thread asking if “anyone had been to a meeting,” I decided to check out that thread as well.

Once again, I found her attitude quite nasty toward anyone who had the slightest opposition toward her “religion” and I had to ponder; “there must be something going on inside this woman if she continuously logs on to a Catholic website forum.” Even though she is quite rude in her responses toward others who are trying to reason with her in an intellectual discussion, and she continues to defend what she claims is the “truth,” I think God is silently leading her to the truth which is Jesus Christ and His Church, the one Holy Catholic Apostolic Church, whether she likes it or not. My bet Jaded27 will be Catholic before too long! God bless her!

Why would you want me to be if I am so snide and horrible to everyone?
I’m sorry that’s what you got out of my posts. I came here for information and instead saw my faith attacked at every turn. Trying to be civil didn’t get me anywhere so I stopped coming entirely. I still get updates in my email inbox occasionally unfortunately since I keep cancelling them one by one (the threads I was on).

I started the meeting one to see if anyone had actually ever BEEN to one of the meetings of a religion Catholics seem to hate so much. Some were nice and replied kindly, others did not.

Once again, sorry that “an attitude” is all you got out of my posts. Perhaps the later ones, but not the early ones. If that’s all you read into it then it is your loss.

I am still on here in another section talking about another subject so it’s not like I don’t notice when my name comes up. Please just go back to pointing out all the horrid faults of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, but do so without bringing me into it. Thank you.

I’d like to know what that’s supposed to mean. I honestly don’t understand the problem that you all have with me. I especially liked the post following that about how I should “smile” and “god bless America”. So I should smile while people are bringing up my name as having an attitude? None of you would do it. So don’t expect me to. And as for not being at the superdome - everything is relative. The problems I am currently experiencing in my real life or on a forum or whatever are all relative. I would not belittle any issues you all may have so please show me the same courtesy.

I have gotten a very negative view of most Catholics from this board and that’s too bad. As I’ve said before I’m glad my fiancée isn’t like the impression I’ve gotten on here. Why do you insist on bringing others down? Just to feel better about yourselves? Try self help books or therapy. I didn’t come on here to attack anyone. And I still haven’t. I may have gotten heated at times, but it was called for. And everyone else was doing the same thing. I can’t remove the emotion from posts because the emotion is right there in plain view.

My post that I quoted above was not rude and it was not condescending. So why is the one that followed it?
And even the one after that a little bit. Especially since she was the one who originally said I had an “attitude”. What do you call all the posts that have been made against me? Puppy dogs and ice cream???

Stop kidding yourselves. Some of you behave like good christians and then there are some who set a very bad example of how people should act towards one another. I came here seeking knowledge. I asked you to keep my name out of further posts and you refused. Show some common courtesy.

I was involved in much of this thread and I also have reread it and have thought & prayed about it. I want to tell you this: I am sorry. I believe that you were terribly outnumbered and you kept saying that you didn’t want to get into it but we kept hammering away.

I can appreicate that you just wanted to find out more about your boyfriend’s faith. I truly believe that you didn’t come here to “convert” anyone - but rather to check out what others were saying about the JW’s. Your defense of your religion put us on the offense and because a few of us are former Witnesses, we came heavily armed. We didn’t want to hurt you or insult you - we wanted to help you - but if you aren’t asking for help, we needed to respect that. I think if any of your posts came across as “snide & horrible” (not my words) - it’s because you were hurt by the things we were saying - (not saying you believe them to be true… just saying that I can appreicate that it must not be fun to have all kinds of people pointing out all the “errors” of your religion)

I am glad that you have decided to continue to check out this site. I hope that you are left to do that in peace. Truce?

You’re right - I didn’t want to convert anyone and I am terribly outnumbered here. Even in nice circumstances it is sometimes difficult to come up with info at the drop of a hat. And when I did go home and research something no one even paid attention to it. So I thought “what’s the point”? Especially since I didn’t come here to preach anyway. I just came here about my upcoming marriage and such.

I saw the JW forum and maybe I should have just ignored it. But if you wanted to leanr more about JWs and went on one of their forums and saw a Catholic section. . . .well, wouldn’t you look? I’m not THAT strong willed, sorry.

If you believe truly that your truth is THE truth then getting huffy and going home because things aren’t going your way is hardly a sign of great confidence.

And THIS Is arguing. You are all inciting arguments. That’s all you want to do so fine. I’ve tried to be patient and teach you things. It’s not working. Instead I get called crazy. Fine.

If everyone is so “awful” on this site, and that the only “good Catholic” is your boyfriend, why do you bother returning and starting new threads? What is wrong with this picture anyway? Why don’t you go to a JW Forum and ask questions there rather than harass people here with your nasty comments? I don’t know about you, but if I felt the way you did about “everybody” here on this forum, I would have left this site and never looked back! And I noticed that as many times as you rudely said “goodbye” to all the “horrible” Catholics on this site, you kept coming back simply to get your two cents in and fight with people! How awful!

It seems to me that you enjoy leaving nasty quips to everyone, and return time and again just to pick arguments! You try to be “subtle” but it’s very clear you are being quite hostile. I don’t need validation, thanks. Arguing is fine for some, a waste for others. It’s MY opinion which I am entitled to. If you’re going to have a JW forum, expect JWs to check it out once in a while.

Yes, it is awful. Awful that some people don’t even take the time to actually read my posts. I started off as a lovely person. Slowly as I was attacked more and more that went away.

She is NOT trying to convert anyone. She only wanted to learn about the Catholic Church because it’s her boyfriend’s faith, and, in the process she felt she needed to defend her OWN faith. That is her right. We’ve all been through it back & forth over & over again. Nobody wants to rehash any of this… including HER… so PLEASE… I am begging everyone else… Leave her alone.
