I wish to find a nice husband

You have to put yourself into my shoes on the dating sights to see what I mean. Age, huge important factor, when I post it, I get lumped together with people that appear twice my age, they already have grown up children, have been in at least one marriage, and the typical gal is at least 5-10 years older then me, and out of shape to boot. I have to lie in order to get listed in the proper age bracket, and it’s huge competition, where one attractive gal will have on average, 10-20 guys a month to respond to.

I’ve tested many of them, including creating fake credentials to see what kind of a response I get. If I post “work in the medical field”, and for hobbies, collect classic cars, I get plenty of responses, if I post who I really am, I don’t get anything worth mentioning at all.

The fact is, it’s totally one sided, you gals have it all in your favor and corner, and us guys have to pay a lot of money just to use the sites, where they are typically free for you gals. The sites are only about making money, and that alone, otherwise they would be hiring real people to help with the match making process and would not allow serial daters on board.

Devotion to our blessed Mother is key in my world, you have to get through her, to get to me, and that’s really the bottom line.

It’s better to be single, and have the Lord in your heart, then to be married without him. Don’t compromise, and know that the one that created the universe has the capacity to put the right person in your life, it’s up to you to recognize who it is, and when, and don’t be too reserved to not break the ice in dialog.
That’s the best line ever! I hope you find this woman. 👍

That’s how I feel–except the guy has to be pretty much submitted to God to find me.

Waiting is hard but waiting is best. God has good things promised for those who wait for Him. Running ahead to satisfy our own needs will only lead to heartache in the end.

I have never been to a dating site so I am pretty clueless. I don´t like going out “dating” either. I live a life in contact with nature which I enjoy but it limits my possibilities of meeting Mr. Right. There is so much sin that I am very wary though I have faith.

Thanks for the thumbs up, and yeah, waiting is hard., But, like all things, it’s His timing, and I like to think he’s preparing my future wife’s heart as well as mine. Today’s times are perilous, and the world tries to get you to settle, and I think, by settling, I would be passing up any potential for who God has in mind for me. What I face too often, being spiritually attacked, where I’ve been so active in the faith and devoted to our Lord in so many ways, only to have the not having a wife and children thrown in my face.

NONE of the catholic dating sites are free for women. All of them have both sexes pay the same.

You also have it backwards— saying you wait for a woman to reveal herself to you before you decide to pursue. It is the man’s job to pursue, THEN a woman, would she feels safe, can open up and reveal herself. It’s not on her to prove to you that she is worth pursuing.

Dating sights in general, Catholic ones are very few. If you are going to be friends, then you are going to reveal yourself, your nature, your everything. That is what I’m saying. I sit back and listen, and if she has a potty mouth, or is into petty perspectives, or a game player, etc. I will not give her any thought towards romantic gestures. The number of gals I have met, and thought were nice, only to find out later not nice at all, is appalling.

Yes, there are only a few catholic dating sites. Which is a good thing. Then people aren’t spread out over so many.

does CAF need a single and searching section ?

this is not the first time a similar post has been posted !

🙂

I am alone though not lonely. I am attractive and a nice person and with a good reputation. Unfortunately I have not met the right man with whom to form a family and I am wondering if I ever will.
I have prayed to St. Anne but nothing yet.
I prefer not to marry unless my heart is in it as divorce is not in my book God willing.
Any other Saints to pray to?
I would also like to find a nice, Catholic husband. I am 23 and have never been in a relationship. Its not that I am picky but I will admit I am VERY shy and quiet. I am sure there are nice, single Catholic men at my parish but I am just very quiet.
I know it will happen when and if God wants it to happen.

That might not be a bad idea. People on here might go to the same parish and not even know it!

Maria Emme have you considered joining groups at your parish that share activities you like? I don’t know where you live but st Francis parish near where I live have a nature and pet lovers group, maybe you can look into something like that. Also consider to join groups that do nature activities where you can find people that are like minded. To me those are great ways to meet people. Also if your parish doesn’t have a group well maybe you can talk to your priest about starting a group yourself for st Francis or something like that. Best of luck.

I have talked to others within the church, and sending someone to some .com is a poor answer, for none of them are worth their weight in dirt. They exploit the singles scene, and all of them, no matter how well packaged, how well stated, draw only those of the world seeking to find someone “conservative”, and not too devout. The web is a terrible place to find a match for so many reasons, and trust me, I’ve already studied and checked out those avenues.
My husband and I, who met through AveMariaSingles and who would have almost certainly never met except for AMS, disagree vehemently. 😉 It did take us a little while on there to find one another; he was on there for about a year and a half before we started emailing, and I was on there for about a year. Each of us talked to or met with a few other people from AMS before meeting each other, and discerned that while the other people were (well, the vast majority, at least) good Catholics, they weren’t spouse material for us. During that time, we both never gave up, and each focused on becoming the person we each wanted our future spouse to marry. And then, one September afternoon, we met, and the rest is history. 😃

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It was through Jesus and Saint Christopher (oh gosh just realised that Saint Christopher had to do with Motorists didnt he)? I met the husband married to for 18 years through his flat tractor battery while I had a flat car battery.

I had prayed in the Church during my lunch breaks a few times at the age of 22 years and asked Jesus to send along a boyfriend, Jesus answered my prayers and there were three boyfriends (one who asked me out was a footy player who drank heavily, one who was too short for me at the time, genuine though and kind hearted but not my sense of humour, and the last being a farmer who I was not externally attracted to much).

When I realised he was a Catholic that was a good first base at the time, then realised he needed me greatly and their family needed me, that was second base, then third base arrived when I realised he enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities.

A word of advice is to ensure that your future partner genuinely believes in God Jesus and Our Lady Mary despite being a Catholic or practising Catholic.
