However, being Pilate-like, what I have written, I have written!

Honestly, give Dr. Anders a listen, if you have not. Don’t have to agree with him and I expect that you would not. But just to know that his argument is reasonable.

The “elites”? Easy to throw a label on some ‘nameless’ group of people.

Names, please. Who are these ‘elites?’

Pope Francis has spotlight vision of a grave cancer that is in the Church and for that he is a target to a certain faction with their eye on having complete control. He has been condemning it since he stepped up to the Seat. Here are excerpts from a talk her gave to the Irish Jesuits last September.

"Pope Francis’ private encounter with the Jesuit Community of Ireland came on the heels of his meeting earlier that evening ( Saturday August 25th ) with eight survivors of sex abuse. He told his brother Jesuits that what he had heard “touched” him deeply. Then he asked those present to help him, and the Church in Ireland, “to put an end to this”.

“And what do I mean by put an end to it? I don’t mean simply turn the page, but seek out a cure, reparation, all that is necessary to heal the wounds and give life back to so many people. The letter I wrote recently to the people of God speaks of shame for the abuses. I wish to repeat it here and share it with you today ” he said.

Affirming that he understands with clarity the drama of clerical sexual abuse, he said it is linked to a Church that is marked by élitism and clericalism and consequently to its inability to be close to the people of God:

“ There is something I have understood with great clarity: this drama of abuse, especially when it is widespread and gives great scandal – think of Chile, here in Ireland or in the United States – has behind it a Church that is elitist and clericalist, an inability to be near to the people of God. Elitism, clericalism fosters every form of abuse. And sexual abuse is not the first. The first abuse is of power and conscience. I ask you to help with this. Courage! Be courageous! I really was unable to believe the stories that I have seen well documented. I heard them now in the other room and was deeply upset. This is a special mission for you: clean this up, change consciences, do not be afraid to call things by their name ” he said.

Pope Francis also answered questions put to him directly by those present. To the question “what can be done concretely against the abuses?” he affirmed that all priests are called to denounce the cases they know about.

He also said he believes that sexual abuse is the consequence of the abuse of power and of conscience and he decried an authoritarian attitude that exists within the Church, also amongst bishops and religious superiors. Commenting on how “we all know an authoritarian bishop”, he expressed the need to defeat authoritarianism and clericalism and “rediscover the obedience of the sending in mission”. "

“A certain faction with their eye on having complete control?”

Still no names.

Do you think that there are men in the Church who are ‘out to get Pope Francis’ because they ‘want to have complete control’. these men are guilty of clericalism and elitism.

Well since you link to the address the Pope gave on sexual abuse, one name that leaps immediately to mind is former Cardinal McCarrick. There, if anywhere, is the personification of clericalism and elitism and sexual abuse.

But who are the friends and defenders of McCarrick? Those SHOULD be the ones who, like him, are bent on 'control of the church".

However, the people who most posters claim as ‘anti Pope Francis’ have not been linked with McCarrick at all, except in their denunciation of him and others like him.

So it’s really kind of puzzling as to who are those ‘out to get control’ people who are often claimed to be against Pope Francis, as opposed to those who really are in control, have been, and want to stay there. Those last are the ones who defended McCarrick and who have their own skeletons clanking out there. . . and it isn’t people like Father Pacwa.

Imo these words of wisdom should be aimed at all the peoples of all nations…

Because every nation, kingdom, religion, government, business, team, school, neighborhood, family, etc. has those who are willing to take advantage of others. And the Church’s mission is to sow/plant/nourish/inform EVERYONE of God’s ways, whereas the applying of His ways are up to the individual soul aka the ground the seeds of Faith land on. (Matthew 13)

Too, a lot of charitable works are accomplished due to the vast wealth of the west; please, let’s keep this in mind. Maybe we can send actual packets of actual seeds to other countries, so their poor have the chance to grow their own food, rather than the drugs that keep them slaves to the lie of health via the possession of money, power, and the dictatorial control of others by those phantoms and ghosts who mesmerize with lies of health and wealth via preying on others.

So then, our prayers and good will should be extended to all humankind of all nations, planting the seeds of hope for everlasting life WITH HIM, which our Lord offers to everyone of every nation. The rest is up to the individual and the capabilities our Lord has blessed them with.

So many times his vision of the Church as a battlefield hospital comes to mind.
