If Biden Wins, He May Pick Attorney General Who is Trying to Put Pro-Life People in Prison

NATIONAL MICAIAH BILGER NOV 30, 2020 | 7:49PM WASHINGTON, DC

If he wins, Joe Biden is considering “one of the worst” possible candidates for U.S. attorney general in Xavier Becerra, a man who not only supports the killing of unborn babies in abortions but also fights to restrict and even jail pro-lifers who are working to save lives.

Becerra currently serves as the attorney general of California. Several news outlets, including the New York Times and Reuters, recently mentioned him as one of Biden’s top contenders for U.S. attorney general, should he be the confirmed presidential winner.

“Xavier Becerra is one of the worst” candidates, said Alexandra Snyder, executive director of Life Legal Defense Foundation. “But we’re not going to have anybody that is going to be favorable to the most important issues to us, the issues involving life and death and the protection of our fundamental freedom.”

Not an answer but a digression, I’m sorry. I don’t understand, ‘if Biden wins?’ Hasn’t he got enough electoral college votes and the vote in the college is a mere formality?

I really find the US system for electing its president is unnecessarily complex and excessively drawn out. I know financing a universal healthcare system is not popular in the USA but how many million dollars must be wasted on the process of electing the USA’s president? Surely, that money could be spent on far better things.

No one praying in front of abortion clinics is going to be arrested.

Yes he has enough. We are days away from the remaining 9 states certifying their results. It’s a done deal. The electoral college vote on Dec 14 is a mere formality.

Then why is it dragged out so much? In the UK we always hold elections on a Thursday. Campaigning is only allowed in the six weeks prior to the election. After an election on Thursday, The Queen is inviting the leader of the winning party to form a government on Friday morning. Six weeks from start to finish and it’s all done.

It was written into the Constitution that way over 200 years ago.

I know the electoral college is part of the US Constitution. But, are caucuses and primaries starting two years in advance part of the Constitution? Why is Trump simply not admitting he lost? As far as I am aware he has not offered a single shred of credible objective evidence for his claims the election was rigged.

I honestly think it is time that the USA had a look at its electoral system. Hillary Clinton won millions more votes than Trump but she lost. I know of no other democratic country where that would happen. Admittedly, your options were not great in 2016: Clinton or Trump. However, in a democratic system Clinton should have won. More Americans voted for her.

@TomH1

I am not sure where you are from, but I definitely agree way too much money is spent on presidential elections and other congressional elections. I would call it obscene the amount of money spent on
our elections. I live in a small community in Northern
Arizona and recently our mayor ran for a congressional seat. She is a liberal African American woman. Almost $1,000,000 came in to her campaign and a majority of it was from San Francisco and New York.!! Why do people in San Francisco and New York
care about our congressional seat in Arizona? The irony is she lost her bid for the congressional seat.
Bloomberg through $100 million dollars into Florida elections and Trump won Florida.

This election for president is drawn out because there were definite irregularities most likely it was rigged.

The democrats here seem to think the rules that everyone else has to follow don’t apply to them or they change the rules to make cheating easier.

I got an email letter today from Newt Gingrich asking me to support financially the candidates for the run off in Georgia.

I don’t live in Georgia.

I wonder how you would have gotten on a republican email list?

Yes, I have received numerous emails asking for political donations to the Georgia run offs and I don’t
live in Georgia either. I also don’t donate to political campaigns.

I was a Republican for many years.

I recently became an independent.

The caucuses and primaries start in late January/early February of the election year, so it’s about nine months before the general election.

I agree that the campaign season is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. No reason we couldn’t have a single national primary in late summer followed by the general election in November (that date, I believe, is set by law). Reducing the length of the campaign would reduce the amount of money that was needed.

This is being claimed by President Trump and Republicans too afraid to contradict him. So, where is the evidence that anything illegal went on? It sounds to me like sour grapes from the losers.

When Republicans were real Republicans it made sense. But since they became “Trumpists” the times started to change.

Let’s remember, that Trump ruined everything he touched. Three bankrupt casinos? The Trump university? Not one successful business endeavor - his father had to bail him out over and over again.

Now he is well on the way of ruining the GOP. 😉 The sad part is that they deserve it. No spine at all, just “yes-man”-ing everything. They had a great opportunity when the impeachment was underway. All they had to do is honor their solemn oath and let the chips fall where they may. But they were all scared. They deserve everything that comes to them.

I do not understand the purpose of these.
The primaries narrow the field down so you have one nominee from each party running for each office.

At one time, there were around 20 Democrats running for President in the 2020 election. The primaries and caucuses eliminated all but Biden.

Primaries do the same thing for other offices on the federal, state, and local level - one nominee from each party.

You won’t get the evidence from CNN or anywhere that doesn’t practice honest journalism anymore like NYT or Washington Post or ABC, NBC, PBS and many other
sources too numerous to mention.
