I use science (including biology) to better understand the world around me.

By the way, what’s “maths?”
You use ET, so you understand what?

Digger71:
My point is that the creationists are the ‘weak of faith’ in this instance, and abcdefg himself has said you cannot be a real Catholic and beleive in evolution.

I was postig something to support you.
Don’t doubt my faith it’s against the rules.
Don’t pretend to know what I mean. I never say “you can’t be a real Catholic and believe in evolution” I mean for Catholics believing in evolution is ridiculous

abcdefg:
Both human and fish survive now. and human has aspect superior to fish. if human wish fish be extincted, I don’t doubt fish can be extincted. If fish want humans be extincted, this no where going to happen. Jews almost extincted in WW2 as they can’t fit the environment. according to ET, they’re inferior.
Wrong. Evolutionary theory does not say Jews are inferior.

I rest my case. You are attacking other people’s beliefs.

vern humphrey:
And I ask those on the opposite side to stop demanding I not accept evolution. I ask them to stop saying or implying that Catholics must reject science. 'Cause that ain’t true.
If you can’t prove that’s true(no one can) and Church’s tradition has a more definite teaching, why not reject that “science”

Look: I’ve said it multiple times, abcdefg. Evolutionary theory does in fact talk about relative fitness regarding survival of individuals, but this fitness says nothing about the moral worth of individuals. Just because someone did or will die hardly makes them less worthy.

And even so, this has nothing to do with the truth or falsity of evolutionary theory. If the truth has unpleasant moral implications, so what? It remains the truth.

Darwinism or theism evolution greatly weakens the bases why you should save an unfit invidual(Terri) or group(Jews) they will extinct/will be extincted anyway.

Another point of me “Theism evolution is no separate theory/hypothesis. it just modifies theology to suit Darwinism as there’s no separate research done” come and attack.

Because the evidence is overwhelming and the Church does not reject it. Indeed the Church tells us no interpretation of scripture may be in violation of well-established science.

being ridiculous doesn’t mean bad faith.
When you add things like this,
If you can’t prove that’s true(no one can) and Church’s tradition has a more definite teaching, why not reject that “science”
It most certainly does. You are attacking other people’s beliefs. You are pretending that Church’s teachings are somehow in conflict with science.

First to qualify as breaking the rules, you first have to prove me assertion is wrong.
now answer me are my words wrong?
Has science already proved evolution is the truth beyond doubt?
Has Church tradition allowed any form of evolution “theory”?

Wrongo – the burden is on you to prove you’re right.

Which words?

abcdefg:

Science doesn’t “prove beyond doubt.” Science examines data and makes hypotheses, then tests those hypothesis. When more data is available, the cycle continues.

abcdefg:

The Church accepts that evolution doesn’t conflict with Catholic doctrine.

If you say it does, the burden is on you to prove it.

abcdefg:
Can you refute me at least? I’m no scientist so my words are easier to refute, don’t you think?
Everyone on this thread has refuted you, over and over.

And you have failed to advance a shred of evidence for your position.

You’ve lost the argument.

vern humphrey:
Which words?
Words are “Science can’t prove evolution ‘theory’ is right. Church tradition teaches Creationism is right, evolution ‘theory’ is unacceptable thus it’s better to accept Creationism” if you like add “Current teaching gives no clear answer”

vern humphrey:
If you say it does, the burden is on you to prove it.
I’ve shown you Baltimore Catechism, Roman Catechism, decision of various councils to show the Church’s tradition

All men must die. What’s your point? And moreover, what you’ve said doesn’t really bear: it is a fallacy to go from what did, does, or will happen to what ought to happen. You’ve been ignoring this point; in the interest of productive discussion I suggest you discuss it, else other individuals might come to believe that you cannot.
Another point of me “Theism evolution is no separate theory/hypothesis. it just modifies theology to suit Darwinism as there’s no separate research done” come and attack.
I’m not even sure what the difference between “theistic” and “atheistic” evolution is. To the best of my knowledge, one of them augments the other with the statement: “God exists and wanted things to happen the way they did.” Is that correct?

You also have not addressed my point about the moral consequences of evolution being irrelevant to its truth or falsity.

These creation-evolution threads are hopeless, a waste of time.
Heh. You think it’s bad here; you should see what we get at Infidels. 😃
